not giving this book a rating. doesn’t feel right to since it is someone’s personal story about their traumas. incredible, eye-opening story.

This is a short memoir describing the unspeakable horrors that the author endured when the Nazis took control of Hungary, and his family was sent to a ghetto and subsequently transported to Auschwitz. There all of the members of his extended family aside from one older brother were killed.

The author briefly describes the antisemitism and bullying he endured in Hungary prior to the arrival of the Germans, and his life subsequent to his release from Dachau to which he was transferred after Auschwitz was liquidated.

Emotional testimony from one survivor of the Holocaust. I found it interesting to read about his liberation and how he built his life after, you don't get that part included.
