Ruby is losing friends by the minute...! Why does Sapphire never want to see his face again? And why has one of Ruby's Pokemon run away? Meanwhile, the Hoenn region is on the verge of destruction as two Legendary Pokemon clash in the depths of the ocean--and only Ruby knows how to reach them to intervene!
Then, what will happen when evil Team Aqua and equally evil Team Magma team up?!
I continued with the series because it is simply amazing. In this volume the two legendary pokemon Groudon and Kyogre are about to awaken and the gym leaders are trying to stop this from happening. If the gym leaders fail mass destruction will rein upon the hoenn region. there are a lot of plot twists sutch as when team magma got a hold of both orbs so they can control the pokemon that team aqua is trying to control.Ruby and Sapphire have now met and have a mentor to guide them in a way.Sapphire has figured out where the evil oganizations are hiding but need ruby's help but she dosn't realize that until he tells her.
My new favourite in the Hoenn saga. Things are heating up in the Hoenn region -- two legendaries are stirring from a slumber and it's up to Ruby and Sapphire to stop them from wreaking havoc in the region.
Ruby really sucked in this volume. And where he always was a bit self-centered, they over emphasized that characteristic here. Like, he has consistently rose to the occasion in previous volumes but not here. Meh, I'm over this series already.
The character development in this volume is great, really pulling together everything over the last several volumes to show the gripping plot. I don't know why Rayquaza is on the cover, as the bulk of this volume is dealing with Kyogre/Groudon's resurrection and terror.
I enjoyed it. There was quite a bit of drama, I loved it and kinda hated it at the same time. Ruby and Sapphire's friendship has certainly evolved over the course of time.
Kept up the action and didn't get repetitive - feels like every other volume in the Ruby/Sapphire arc is great, while the ones in between are just filler and repeating the broad strokes of what's been happening for like 4 volumes now.
Really climatic build up and the little romantic tension is good. Ruby and Sapphire's story at this point is making me miss the previous Pokedex Holders less and less, but you have to wonder why they are not called in to help the situation.
