Usagi goes from village darling to castle clown, but that's not going to stop her from doing her best! She's going to get her man and become a ninja, and not even two super-skilled shinobi beauties can stop her!
Usagi is the granddaughter of the leader of a prestigious ninja village, but she's such a klutz that she's never made it out of the kiddie class. Frustrated with Usagi's lack of progress, her grandfather sends her to marry Lord Hanzo and have lots of ninja babies. But the lord has no interest in her or her childbearing potential!
After she sees her childhood friend Kame having a tryst with Ranmaru, Usagi concludes that Kame has betrayed Iga. When she confronts Kame, Ranmaru has Usagi imprisoned and Kame is seriously wounded! What are Ranmaru's plans for the two of them? And will Usagi return to Iga alive?
She is a Japanese manga artist who does mainly shojo manga. Her works are primarily serialized in Margaret magazine, with series published in collected volumes by Shueisha, though she has also been featured in fellow Shueisha publication Ribon, as well as illustrating the novel adaptation of her own Stepping on Roses series in Cobalt.
What a terrible start to this volume. So tense reading this!! And why is every guys blindling obsessed with Usagi. Ranmaru is a bit foolish in his behavior! He deserved what he got! I'd be mad at myself though too if I were Usagi. It may be undeserved but fully relatable. Poor girl! But she did great! And I have never seen Goemon so upset!!
One thing I dislike about Usagi is her continuous jumping to conclusions. Like, why in the world would you out Kame's real identity as a kunoichi to a man who is actively hunting you and your husband-to-be (for being ninjas) while he is actively restraining you where he can break your arm at any moment?? Fifteen year old youth and naivety aside, that was plain stupid. Also, who just forgets they can't swim??
Kame is really too good of a person for still being friends with Usagi since every flashback we've had so far is Usagi taking her bitterness and resentment on Kame when she is again jumping to conclusions. At least with Kame around she's able to direct Usagi in making decisions to actually help them out of their predicament. It's a life or death situation and Usagi needed to grow up and make some sacrifices to save both of their lives. It's a horrible thing to go through, but
Also, Hanzo has the tack of a rhino. No.... a rhino might still be more tactful than he is.
It's been a hot minute since I touched this series (almost a year!), and it's still the same mindless trash that I come to expect (and love) from this genre lol.
Okay they messed up the name of the author. It's not HIroyuki Takei. It's Rinko Ueda. Anyway. Hanzo jealous much? Also Ranmaru, eww! He is so gross, also poor Kame.

Seriously? How did she not make the conclusion of a secret mission? I mean, is she not a ninja? And how did she add yet another boy toy to her gaggle of guys?
