Lure of the Dragon is a wonderful start to a new series by Anna Lowe. It’s full of suspense, mystery, and romance.
Lure of the Dragon shows us that everyone has secrets and that not ever supernatural is good. The story was a little slow to start and it took me sometime to get into, but once I did, I enjoyed it.
We are introduced to a band of brothers, men who severed in a special military unit together. These men have been through a lot and have formed a family. I feel in love with the shifter brothers that were introduced. Each one is unique, has their own personalities, and pasts. I’m curious to learn about each one and see who their mates will be.
I loved how the author brought all her characters together and that we are still in the same world with ties to Twin Moon. The plot has a few twists and surprises.
I do have to point out that the first kiss between Tessa and Kai, Holy Smokes it’s smoking.
It was great to get our first taste of dragons, good and bad, fated mates and lost treasures. I’m curious to see where this new series goes and how it all unfolds.

Tessa, a private chef, had no clue shifters were real, until one tried to claim her as another helped her escape. Nothing like learning the hard way, right? Yeah, something tells me Tessa isn't finished with the lessons yet. I have a feeling there's more to come.
Kai, a dragon shifter, learned his own lesson due to a childhood experience. Never fall in love with a human, but when the one that belongs with you appears, desperate for help, how could he possibly adhere to that lesson?
When Kai, and his fellow shifters and former military teammates, learn of Tessa's situation, as well as the connection to someone they're already aware of, they agree to help her, though Silas, the leader, insists upon reminding Kai of their no humans pact.

This had some good elements, but overall, it was boring. I mean, I love dragons, I don't mind insta-love, there's some danger involved, but there was a lack of spark between the characters to really set this off. I read this over the weekend, and I'm struggling to remember their names, so that's never a good sign. I didn't think it was horrible, but I don't think I'll continue with this series. Just not for me.

Well-written for the genre, but...
Setting: Hawaii Contemporary
Genre: Shifter Romance
After being attacked by one of her clients (she’s a private chef), Tessa takes her neighbor Ella’s advice and seeks sanctuary with Ella’s friends in Hawaii. Tessa is freaked out because her client turned into a monster and Ella rescued her and revealed the world of Shifters. Tessa feels an immediate connection with Kai, one of 5 ex-military guys living on a private estate, and the feeling is mutual. The plot revolves around figuring out how to keep her safe.
This is well-written for this genre, though it was a bit slow at times. Grammar and usage are actually on the better side. Character development isn’t bad either. But the author used stupid as a plot device, and for me that is unforgivable.

Book one of the Aloha Shifters: Jewels of the heart by Anne Lowe.
Tessa is a private chef hire by Damien Morgan but while there he attack her but thankfully save by a mysterious woman that told her to go to Maui.
Kai is a special forces dragon shifter that with a few friends/team members made a home on Maui.
As soon as he meets Tessa he know something special about her but after a lifetime of mistrust between humans and shifters Kai is struggling with his heart and inner dragon wanting to mate.
Absolutely love this first book. It’s a nice easy read/listen and I really enjoyed that the special force team are different shifters with very individual distinctive characters also loved that it was based in Maui a bucket list place for me.
Looking forward to more in team finding their HEA especially there leader.

This was quick, cute and easy to read. I listed via audible.
I enjoyed the MCs. Liked their connection. It was instant but still took them a minute to accept it. There was suspense and good side characters. I’ll keep reading the series!!

Kai... mmmmm Kai... i have no words for the sexyness and sweetness that is Kai.. he is truly amazing and funny and wonderful.. also his brothers... holy hottness.. lol they are wonderful and so sweet. Tessa is a wonderfully strong woman.. she ends up finding out about this world she didnt know existed and instead of completely freaking she accepts it and learns and loves.. i cannot wait for the next one and im so glad i got to review this

Tohle byla prostě pohádka na dobrou noc, akorát v dospělácké verzi. Bylo to krátké a svižné, přečtete v podstatě na posezení.
Ale – nic moc se tam neděje, přitom potenciál to má celkem velký. Chcou se od první stránky (to není hyperbola), milujou se asi od 10. stránky. Ten vývoj všeho byl prostě strašně rychlý. Přitom je zajímavá změna po všech upírech, vlkodlacích a vílách číst pro změnu o dracích, resp. měňavcích (což je teda vtipné slovo, furt mi v hlavě vyskakuje nějaká améba, rozhodně ne drak nebo vlk 😅).
Když čtenář hledá jen lásku, trochu vášně a milounké čtení na dovolenou, nic propracovanějšího, tak by se mu to mohlo líbit. Já si další díly přečtu, protože mě zajímá, jaké příběhy čekají na zbytek „smečky“. 🙂

Podľa obálky som od toho očakávala vaščiu červenú knižnicu, ale prišlo mi to skôr fantasy. Reálne sa tam najviac riešila kultúra drakov a spojenie druhov. Chýbalo mi tam eskalovanie citov postáv, mám pocit, že oni šli hneď all-in, ale zároveň to bolo celkom plytké. Boli tam aj nejaké bojové scény, ale tie boli opísané hrozne, ja reálne netuším, čo sa v boji dialo, viem len to, kto vyhral.
Takýto typ kníh som čítala niekedy dávno a aj keď to nebol skvost a ani zážitok, tak mi to prišlo ako jednoduché pohodové čítanie. Vpodstate som knihu prečítala za jeden večer a môžem sa posunúť ďalej.

Oh I love this new series and in Hawaii! Ms. Lowe you are a wonder and never cease to amaze me with your stories.
These 5 hunks are all ex-military special forces and they are all different shifter, except for the 2 dragons grumpy Silas and hot as sin Kai. Silas and Ash are they only 2 dragons in Hawaii, until Tessa shows up that is, she brings the dragons from Phoenix flying after her. Problem is as soon as she shows up at the gates of the shifters home in Hawaii Ash shows up and when he catches sight and his dragon catches a whiff of her all bets are off, she is off limits to anyone, but him.
Tessa is running to Hawaii from a demented customer that just turned into something she ever only read about, a dragon and her neighbor into a fox! But Ella the fox says her friends in Hawaii will help her, so off she goes, Ella who works for Twin Moon Ranch by the way, forgot to mention how hot her welcoming committee would be. She is about to be introduced to the world of shifters and a little bit more grandma failed to ever mention.
Kai never thought he would see, or smell anything so divine in his lifetime. Humans are off limits though unless.......Now he just has to keep her safe from other draqons that want to get their hands on his treasure and explain to her that she is a Fire Maiden the most precious treasure to a dragon, good luck with that. She'll love to hear that he is part dragon after just a day of being attacked by a lunatic dragon and discovering that shifters really do exist.
I can't wait to read the other guys stories.

Omg I've been such a fan of Twin Moons Ranch with the Wolves and then we had Blue Moon Saloon with the Bears, I now we went to Dragons pkus more and OMG!!! I loved it unbelievable, absolutely phenomenal I am without words it is so good you must read it, this SERIES is going to be epic.
Question for you?? Did you ever watch Magnum PI? Whose Jonathan? I'm still trying to figure out..
Tessa Byrne is a human Private Chef and she's doing well for her self under her business "Thérèse Brûler.” Than going to her new client Damien Morgan who lives at a cliffside estate in the Camelback Mountains in Phoenix. Needless to say it was an eye opener, the scariest thing she has ever seen in her life. Damien came in and smelt her and started morphing into a dragon. A DRAGON Shifter who knew they existed? If that wasn't bad enough, he said some awful things. Now thanks to her neighbor Ella she's in Maui, Hawaii at the Koa Point Estate. The huge gate itself is scary, should she go in? Can she ask shifters for help? Tessa has never been around shifter, Ella said that Koa means an elite class of warrior. OMG!! what is she going to do?
Kai Llewellyn is a Dragon Shifter and part of a secret, elite corps. There were five shifters each with a monster inside. Kai's dragon was driving him crazy. He wouldn't be quite, he kept talking and talking, saying that she was this mate, he needs to claim her, every five seconds. At that point Kai started to believe she was possibly his mate. The biggest question of all was WHY is Damien Morgan after Tessa? She's nothing but a human!

This is a review of just the bonus scenes that came separate from the story Lure of the Dragon. I read and reviewed that some time ago.
The bonus scenes were cute but really I could have lived without them.
In fact, I learned something about myself.
I don't like bonus scenes.
So this will be the last time I download them & I definitely will not be reading anything like them again.
Now that said, I do like Ms. Lowes stories. Some more than others. And Lure of the Dragon, (the book, not the bonus scenes) was not one of my favorites. It was okay. I will try another of her stories in this series and continue to read her other series.

Občas mám pocit, že pokud si člověk jednou přečte tento typ měničské fantasy, jako by je už četl vlastně všechny. Ano, příběhy se samozřejmě liší, schéma je však víceméně neměnné.
Ale víte co? Ono je to vlastně svým způsobem fajn. Někdy mám prostě náladu přesně na tento typ knih a tak, pokud vsadím na autora, jehož způsob psaní mě baví, vím, že nebudu zklamaná. A přesně tak to mám s knihami od Anny Lowe. Samozřejmě neodolám a ráda si přečtu i další díly této série, z prosluněné Havaje.
Ale víte co? Ono je to vlastně svým způsobem fajn. Někdy mám prostě náladu přesně na tento typ knih a tak, pokud vsadím na autora, jehož způsob psaní mě baví, vím, že nebudu zklamaná. A přesně tak to mám s knihami od Anny Lowe. Samozřejmě neodolám a ráda si přečtu i další díly této série, z prosluněné Havaje.

Aloha! And welcome to a new shifter series. I have to admit I have a soft spot for dragon shifters. That's why when I saw Anna Lowe's Lure of the Dragon I had to grab a KU copy. So glad I did!
Kia is struggling with so many issues, not the least of which is his fear of and lack of trust in humans. Tessa is a chef who only recently learned--24-hours ago--about the world of shifters. After a terrifying attack, Tessa fled, forced to seek help from a man who hides the same type of horrible monster as the glowing-eyed creature back home.
It is a fantastic battle of the heart with these two, but one that doesn't disappoint. Lots of steamy, hot passion and loving devotion and an introduction to some other wonderful shifters.
The story is fast-paced and set on the beautiful island of Maui and it isn't just the landscape that's gorgeous. Kia and Tessa battle their feelings, but they are destined to be together and the road to their happiness is such a winding, good tale.
If you're a PNR fan and love shifters of all kinds, you will enjoy this series as there a little of everything here. I recommend this book to romance and PNR fans.
Kia is struggling with so many issues, not the least of which is his fear of and lack of trust in humans. Tessa is a chef who only recently learned--24-hours ago--about the world of shifters. After a terrifying attack, Tessa fled, forced to seek help from a man who hides the same type of horrible monster as the glowing-eyed creature back home.
It is a fantastic battle of the heart with these two, but one that doesn't disappoint. Lots of steamy, hot passion and loving devotion and an introduction to some other wonderful shifters.

Great book!
Loved it! Ms. Lowe captures your interest right from the very first chapter. She has a woman who has just been exposed to the world of shifters (and not in a good way) turning to another bunch of shifters for help. Oh and that bunch of shifters she wants help from has one rule "no humans!" Book has just enough tension to keep you turning the pages, (ok hot shifters help that too). The reader can't help but get involved in the story. Storyline has a stone with history, a woman who doesn't know what she is and a sexy dragon who argues with himself. Can't wait for next one! Highly recommend for shifter lovers especially since this bunch has all different kinds!

Ok. I LOVE dragons. So dragon shifters are my tall glass of whiskey. But...
This wasn't written badly, which is why I will give #2 a shot, but it was tame and I just flipping hate insta-love, sniff mate trope. It was a solid three - if highly generous - stars until the heroine does the STUPIDEST thing just to move the plot along. There were several other ways to get the same result without her being an efn moron.
I'm giving a generous two stars because yay dragons and I'm willing to try the second book.

Ms. Lowe builds an interesting world, drawing the reader quickly into an action packed and steamy story.

Whoa, what can I say. Anna has done it again. This is the start of a fantastic new series featuring 5 former Special Forces Shifters. 2 dragons, a bear, a wolf and a tiger. OOH where do I sign up to meet them? All kidding aside, this is a really great story filled with evil dragons, good dragons, other shifters, adventure, fighting and romance and a fated mate.
Tessa is a private chef who is hired to cook for Damien Morgan, a dragon shifter. She is attacked by Damien and she is rescued by Ella, a fox shifter who tells Tessa to go to Maui to Koa Point Estate and there she will find someone to help her. She finds the 5 shifters and one of them is Kai, also a dragon shifter, who is Tessa's fated mate.
Damien finds Tessa and lures her away from Kai and his friends with a note supposedly from Ella. Damien wants Tessa as his mate because she has dragon blood in her lineage and also because she has an emerald with mystic powers that her grandmother gave her. Kai arrives and there is a battle, but Tessa and Kai defeat Damien and his henchmen. But it is not over yet, there are 4 more gems to find and so there will be 4 more stories - YAY.
I want to give this story TEN stars. I was given an Advanced copy of this book and am freely and voluntarily writing this review.

Her friend helps her to escape into protection from her fated mate. Kai is that fated mate who is very careful to introduce her to the world of shifters as well as protect her from the maniac.
