Olly Murs invites you behind the scenes in his illustrated autobiography filled with hundreds of brand new and exclusive photos. 'My life has been a non-stop roller-coaster of extreme emotions, crazy days, unexpected highs and yet my life hasn't been without its low points too. I've tried to imagine myself sitting down with you explaining what I was thinking and feeling during those times. I hope this book will give you a behind-the-scenes view of my journey into a place where I finally found what had been missing in my life for all those years: music.'
Endearingly written with disarming honesty and filled with exclusive new and unseen photographs on and offstage, Happy Days takes you closer to Olly than you've ever been before.
It’s safe to say that Olly Murs will never disappoint me. I adored this book because it was just so honest and it didn’t really feel like reading, more like Olly telling you his story. It was interesting to see the beginning of his career and while I wish he would have described a few things more detailed, I know that he is a very private person and I respect that. This book was a lot of fun - it’s just got the Olly-vibe! And the photos... I wish I had wall-size posters of so many of them like... I would need a couple houses... :-)
After receiving this as a Christmas present I finished it in one sitting as the writing is simple and easy to follow. Being an Olly Murs fan myself, I found this insight into his personal life fascinating and I enjoyed reading it.
Also, the binding of the book is beautifully printed and it looks very nice on my book shelf. My only criticism would be that it was really short, even though Goodsread puts it at 256 pages, only around 100 of them are actual text, the rest are pictures and photos. This is why makes it an easy, quick read. Enjoyable for fans.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love Olly Murs and so the only surprise is that is has taken me so long to read this book! It almost goes without saying that I loved it as much as I love the cheeky chap!
This autobiography answers the questions about what really happens when a contestant applies to perform on the Xfactor. The auditions, behind the scenes and what really goes on, so it was great to find out from one guy who experienced it all. The book covers his childhood and growing up too, but only 96 pages is dialogue, the other 160 pages are just photographs, which although good, I found it slightly disappointing.

Reread - and loved. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Olly. And although this is now like 10 years old, it’s still a lovely read. Inside there’s photos of Mr Murs and his family and moments of his career (before and after). In it he talks about the highs and lows of fame and fortune. The negative side of the back of his failed Deal or No Deal attempt number one, and the highs of Number 1 albums.
I’m a big Olly Murs fan, got it for Christmas, started it on Christmas Day, finished it Boxing Day. I never read that quick. If you love Olly Murs and enjoy Auto-biographies, this book is great for you. If you know someone who likes Olly Murs this book will make a great gift
I was given the book as a present, it is not my usual genre to read publicity biographies. It was however an entertaining break from all the heavy literature I tend to chose. Obviously more a publicity vehicle than in depth story of Olly Murs life and career it is short enough to keep my interest until the picture section fills the second half of the book. I guess I am not the right target audience for the book but it probably fulfils its purpose for those who would buy it for themselves. The pictures could have been a little more adventurous and varied. I must confess so that I liked reading it.
As a fan of Olly Murs I am very disappointed in myself that it took me this long to read it! I enjoyed reading about his life before, during and after X factor. I found out some interesting things I didn't know before particularly his relationship with fellow X factor contestant and the fact he had auditioned for the X factor a previous 2 times before making it to actually see the judges. I liked how short and sweet it was because I feel like if it was any longer I might have got a bIt bored. This was the first book I have ever read in one day and this is due to how enjoyable it was as well as it's short length.
So, I love Olly, I loved him on the X Factor, I love his singles, I loved him when I saw him live, and his books just somehow makes me love him MORE!!! This book is so funny and is an utter joy to read, you learn a lot about Olly and his life! I also enjoy how the book isn't laid out like your usual autobiography, i enjoy the separation of words and picture! If you like Olly Murs then i suggest you read this book - NOW!
I read this book as soon as it came out as I was a big Olly Murs fan in my teenage years, but was sadly disappointed. Im not sure if my expectations were to high or its just not great writing, but I expected more. It was very slow and I struggled to get unto it but once I was so far in I couldn't not reading it as I wanted to know more. I am glad that I read the book but sadly wont be reading to again.
good autobiography with some interesting bits, however i felt a bit let down that a 3rd of the book is just pictures. i thought i had lots left to read when in actual fact the last 70 pages or so were just photos! dont get me wrong, i do love olly murs and am happy to look at his pics but when i buy a book its cos i want to read it!!
What can I say ....... All Ollys Army should read this, it's a cracking read & he's kept it all real, fame really hasn't changed him. I loved every word in the book. Took me 3 days to read on my kindle also brought it as a hard copy to keep.
A true mix of feelings were felt during reading. Loved it.
If you are a fan of Olly Murs I would recommend reading this book. It follows Olly's life and explains his highs and lows and experiences through his life before the audition on X-Factor that changed his life. I really enjoyed the humour that was portrayed throughout this book and you really get a feel for the true Olly character :)
Its a must read for any Olly Murs fan. I guess it would be interesting for others who have only just heard about olly because of Troublemaker. It feels as if he's sat next to you, reminiscing about the past. Hopefully, readers will start to understand olly more and that he's worked hard to get from winning £10 "on deal or no deal" to earning thousands ! :)
the best book in the world it is olly murs biography if you cant tell I am olly's biggest fan and always will be and happy day gave me and the murs army an insight on how olly got famouse and it just left a warn feeling in your heart after reading and I cant wait till I get the chance to read it again
It was a nice read for someone like me who's pretty new in Olly Murs land ... but this book should have more natural pictures instead of alle these shooting pictures.
This is the perfect time to read an ex-X-Factor finalist journey and follow the latest season of the show. It's all about hard work and opportunities and keep going and not giving up.
I loved this book! I read it within a few hours! I love that there are photos included. The only thing is I wish he would have talked more about his brother, Ben.
