This book was published a few days ago. I read it to my son and he really liked it. Jim Panzee has spring fever and the jungle animals want to help him to calm down but he gets angry. Then Norman tells him to embrace the spring fever and finally Jim enjoys the spring without caring what other animals think. The illustrations are beautiful and the stickers are cool.
Newest in the series, this may be my favorite! Gorgeous illustrations, and striped eggs to be found and counted on each page, just about. Loved Jim's crown!
The books in this series will be gifts for those learning to read going forward.

Who would ever have predicted that a grumpy monkey would become so popular? I'm not sure if it's the very idea of an animal being grumpy or his personality or the cartoonlike artwork, but the concept clearly works well, amusing many youngsters. In the latest installment featuring Jim Panzee, the world's grumpiest critter, Jim is in a much more mellow mood than usual. In fact, when he wakes up and is feeling fine, it's clear that he has a case of spring fever, something with which many readers can relate. But this is a fever that Jim doesn't want cured, and he ignores the advice of his well-meaning friends. Since the old adage that if you can't beat them, join them has some truth, his friends join him in his frolic through the jungle. It appears that spring fever is highly contagious. Teachers may want to share his one as spring approaches or maybe on one of those perfect spring days when it's so hard to concentrate. Fans of the previous books will like this one just as much as the others.
A very cute book but I have one issue. I don't see many people or animals getting energetic around springtime. A lot of people get very happy but running around? Not really. But, hey, it's a children's book so have at it. I loved the illustrations and how the snake acted. He was very fun but I would keep an eye on him. He held the baby bunny around its neck and said to pet the bunny, he also wrapped the bunny in "blankets". Yeah, definitely keep an eye on him.
Also, the monkey's name is Jim Panzee. I think his brother is Chim Panzee.
Suzanne Lang's popular character Jim Panzee the grumpy monkey is back this time with spring fever. Lang clever embeds strategies for helping one calm themselves down when spring fever gets the better of us and then embeds activities that can be down to use that extra spring energy. The book invites more close examination by placing striped eggs throughout the book for the reader to look for. The book also comes with stickers that the reader can use to support the story.
Grumpy Monkey is such a fun SEL series for elementary students—learning through the hilarious lens of a monkey in the forest who experiences different emotions. In this story, our monkey has “spring fever” and he can NOT remain calm! 🤪
The theme of all these stories is that it’s okay to feel your feelings!
I can't wait to use this adorable entry in the Grumpy Monkey series with my preschoolers during story time next month. Jim Panzee isn't in a bad mood this time; he's got spring fever and learns to direct it in creative and cute ways so he doesn't drive himself and his friends into a frenzy. Great ideas for spring fun.
We read this for our Springtime Storytime. Everyone enjoyed Jim's antics. This was my favorite of the grouping for this story time because of all the different animals offering suggestions for fun spring activities. The illustrations are really good too, especially the pages where Jim looks calm, but doesn't feel calm. It was very well done and the kids found it really funny.
This was so cute! I loved the suggestions for things to do to calm down and things to do for spring. The illustrations are bright and filled with expression and energy.
Such a fun book for younger children! It is about a monkey having so much energy and does not know how to contain it! All his jungle friends give him wonderful ideas to have that energy! Can be a very interactive book with your class!
My daughter picked this book out because she really likes Grumpy Monkey. She his one had bright illustrations and a funny story to go along with them. My daughter was asking if our animals will get spring fever ahhaha. We would recommend this read to everyone.
I love Jim! I have read another Grumpy Monkey story and I love his little personality. He has friends who are helpful and adorable. These make great read alouds and have many different books in the series.
This book was so good. I loved it. Kids would really enjoy all the illustrations and Jim. I also loved how you can find striped eggs and can count them on each page. This would be a great book for learning how to count for littles.
In this new release, Spring Fever, Grumpy Monkey wakes up and is super happy. He is laughing and shouting with glee, very unlike himself. The animals realize he has a case of spring fever!
The friends of Jim Panzee (that name never gets old) help him deal with his spring fever. As always, the hilarious illustrations put this book over the top.
