The End #3

Brink of Chaos

Rate this book
In the third book of The End series, Joshua Jordan remains in Israel during his self-imposed “exile” out of the reach of U.S. authorities who have trumped-up false criminal treason charges against him. His wife, Abigail, continues to lead the Roundtable to prove the innocence of her husband.

Following the nuclear attack by Russia, Israel is cleaning up the bodies of dead enemy soldiers for 7 months and setting out on its 7 year plan—both per the prophecies in Ezekiel.  As corruption in high government offices threaten to block the election of a worthy presidential candidate by all means necessary—including the unthinkable—Israel’s leadership is tempted to sign a “peace” proposal initiated by the UN under the authority of Coliquin. After he discusses this plan with Pastor Peter Campbell, Joshua is convinced Coliquin may well be the prophesied Anti-Christ and that his peace plan is a trap to destroy Israel.

Are the recurring dreams Joshua has had about the coming rapture from God. And is the end sooner than anyone expects?

This read has been one big bundle of action with associated tension. The series in itself has been a worthy read. This might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it is well written, believable characters, action galore, conflict followed by resolution and just down right entertaining. I wish we did have the technology talked about in this book. This definitely 5 star material.

This third The End novel is lighter on action and suspense than the first two, but still has a bit of excitement. The only question I have is: When will we get another book in the series? Don't leave us hanging, Tim LaHaye and Craig Parshall!

I can really get into a book when you can look at the world around you and see complete parallels with what is happening between them both. Once again authors, Tim LaHaye and Craig Parshall, reunite the readers with Joshua Jordan, former pilot and now taking up asylum that had been provided to him by Israel while his wife and attorney, Abigail can prove his innocence and guarantee him a fair trial. Joshua is fighting trumped-up charges brought by the Department of Justice but give the energy put into the case by the administration of President Tulrude, and the political corruption that Abigail believed was at the bottom of it all, she knew that would be a Herculean task.

The charges accused Joshua of treason, painting him as a domestic terrorist who had used his own defense-contracting firm and the Roundtable group to infiltrate the Department of Defense and manipulate America's national-security apparatus so it would conform to his own political agenda. Abigail considered the allegations an absurd insult. Her husband was a decorate hero-yet the Tulrude administration and its attorney general had concocted a wild theory that through Josh's leadership of the Roundtable, he was attempting to create his own "shadow government," using his influence and connections to subvert American domestic and foreign policy. Abigail believed that the criminal case against Joshua was the only way to shut him up, to stop his work in exposing the dangerous direction that President Tulrude had taken the country.

All this is set against the backdrop on the prevailing winds of the apocalyptic end times as Israel is still cleaning up the remains from the recent nuclear attack by Russia, thus fulfilling the prophecy from Ezekiel in the Bible. The believers in Jesus Christ, fear that the rapture is imminent as citizens are instructed that they have a few remaining days to receive their BIDtag, or Biological Identification invisible tattoo that allows you to be tracked anywhere by the government and security. It is as most believe that is has become the mark of the Antichrist. Meanwhile a One World New Order is being formed by UN under the authority of Coliquin, and his highest priority is the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem and signing a peace treaty with Israel. Sounds just like what is happening slowly outside our own front doors!

I received Brink of Chaos by Tim LaHaye and Craig Parshall compliments of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review and hope there is more coming in this exciting heart-beating series. This marks the third book in The End series and the ending will leave you breathless and wondering just where you stand in your own faith if in fact this novel were to come to a chilling reality. As believers in Jesus Christ, this book makes a stand for what Christians believe will be the coming end times based on prophecies contained within the Bible. This is a perfect novel for those of you that enjoyed the Left Behind Series and why I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars.

“…a joy that surpassed any method of calculation or description.”

This book reads like todays headlines, full of intensity and prophetic insights of biblical proportions. I can’t put this series down! One more book left to go! 👏🏾

The third installment in The End series by LaHaye and Parshall. A Biblical prophetic yet chilling take on reality of end times.

Captain Joshua Jordan is estranged and seeking asylum outside the United States. His wife and attorney Abigail is fighting to get treason charges dropped against him.

A silent yet visual government takeover, Bidtags, an anti-Christ character give an all too real taste to those who have read Revelation.

Will Joshua's protege Ethan make it out alive after posing as a decoy? Stay tuned to the fourth and final installment.

I highly suggest reading this in order to get the full effect. The narration of this was great and edge of your seat.

Tim LaHaye & Craig Parshall in their new book, “Brink of Chaos” Book Three in The End series published by Zondervan brings us back into the life of Joshua Jordan.

From the back cover: In the third book of The End series, Joshua Jordan remains in Israel during his self-imposed ‘exile’ out of the reach of U.S. authorities who have trumped-up false criminal treason charges against him. As corruption in high government offices threaten to block the election of a worthy presidential candidate by all means necessary—including the unthinkable—Israel’s leadership is tempted to sign a ‘peace’ proposal initiated by the UN under the authority of Coliquin.

Political upheaval, biological weapons and a global threat are just some of the ingredients that are the recipe for “Brink of Chaos”. You know what that means, right? Yes, Joshua Jordan is back in “Brink of Chaos” and this book is even more of a thriller than the first two books combined. Tim LaHaye and Craig Parshall have given us a roller coaster ride of suspense, danger, adventure and politics that will keep you flipping pages as fast as you can read them. Unlike a previous series by Dr. LaHaye this series is set not to far from where we are today. Dr. LaHaye is using Bible prophecy to show how close we are to what the Bible tells us will happen.

Craig Parshall, known for his legal fiction, has written a page turning, heart-thumping thriller with careful attention to the state of the world right now and how the Bible says we will turn out. Many of the “things” that are mentioned in the book are in place right now and in use, even though most of us are not aware of them. Dr. LaHaye and Craig Parshall have one agenda in mind and that is the salvation of many through this work of fiction. Their zeal is that many will have their eyes open to the state of our world and see that much of where we are currently and where we are poised to go the Bible has already warned us of and that we would understand our need for a savior. They do a truly remarkable job in this book while exciting us with this story that everyone will enjoy.

The Brink of Chaos is set sometime in the future. In this time, United States citizens are required to have ID chips inserted into their bodies for tracking purposes. This regulation is new enough that some people do not yet have the chip.

Joshua Jordan, a retired Colonel, was a test pilot who flew combat missions in Iraq as well as U-2 spy planes over Iran. He has a degree from MIT and, as a civilian contractor, he developed the Return to Sender missile defense system. When the story opens he is living in exile in Israel having been wrongly accused of treason in the United States. His wife, Jordan, is restricted from leaving the country and has been separated from Joshua for two years because of the legal restraints. They have two grown children. Lt. Debbie Jordan who works in the Pentagon and 21-year old Cal Jordan.

From Israel, Joshua, along with two Israeli agents, frees a U.S. pilot from prison there. When the pilot, Captain Louder, gets back to the United States, he is awarded the Medal of Honor by President Jessica Tulrude who fails to mention (or let Louder say) that Joshua Jordan freed him.

Abigail Jordan, who is also Joshua's lawyer, is fighting to get the treason charges dropped. However, the administration is thwarting her all along the way.

For fans, this book is the final in the series and I think you'll find it as exciting as ever. However, if you haven't read the previous books in the series, you'll still like this one. It stands alone and gives background as needed without being repetitious.

I don't agree with the end time prophecy throughout the book, but it was still an exciting read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for review from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.

The slowest of the books thus far in the End Times series. It somewhat lines up with biblical prophecy. Probably the next book it will all come into place...the ten nations aligning wasn't really specified. The one world religion, one world currency and a Mark needed to buy or sell is covered in this book, as are the great earthquakes....not all prophecy from Daniel 8, 9,11, Mt 24,Mk 13, Lu 21and Rev 6)

It's a good thing this is the end of the series. I was enjoying the characters and the storyline, overall, but it got to be too much by the end of this book.
It began to be a bit unbelievable that a member of the Jordan family was involved in so many of the earth - shattering events of the end times. And, at the risk of a spoiler, the author should have left well enough alone with the last chapter.

Book 3 of The End series which revolves around events leading up to the second coming of Christ. I like the characters but did have some trouble completely holding my interest throughout the whole time. Authors are weaving a number of story-lines throughout the book. I liked the first 2 better but still enjoyed this one.

This was an exciting and somewhat scary read. I can see where it may not be the end of the series. It gives you plenty to think about as real world events continue to unfold.Hope to see at least one or two more books to finish the series. If you are interested in end times this series is a good read for that.

The third book in the series. If you like the Left Behind series, you will love this series; it is far superior in every way. Hope they make these into a movie, too. Think I've read it 3 times now. Will be ordering the 4th book in the series soon. Can't wait to read it.

Amazing

The description of the rapture was amazing. I could almost see it. Could almost feel the joy of seeing friends and family. And then the extreme joy of seeing Jesus walking through his people.

The story of the the Jordan's continues in this novel that brings us ever closer to the rapture and the return of Christ on Earth. Abigail and Joshua Jordan have been separated by the case against them by the U.S. Government; Abby stuck in the U.S., and Josh stuck in Israel. While Abby is working on getting the case against her husband dismissed, Cal is assisting his mom and secretly meeting with former President Virgil Corland about possible assassination charges against current President Tulrude; and Deborah is working with Senator Hewbright's campaign for President to find out who is trying to take him out of the race, permanently.

Great read as well as thought provoking.

Lahaye and Parshall have done it again. Elements of intrigue, Biblical truth, matters of faith and characters that you can either cheer for or against make this a pretty well rounded read. I love to investigate what the end might look like through the stories in this series and I believe any Christian might. I found it easy to become emotionally invested in these characters and I found my own heart being challenged to ask the questions about how I will handle things when the world gets closer to the end than it appears to be now.

This book was really good, although I will say without giving a spoiler away that something unexpected happens in this book that I wasn’t looking for until Book 4.

Tim LaHaye writes in a such a way that I have been driven back to the apocalyptic chapter s of the Biblical prophetic books of the Old Testament and New Testament as well as the book of Revelation. I had not studied these in years until I started reading this series of books.

The books are well written and the character development is first class. Since the books are set during the present day on earth, especially the USA and Israel, it is easy to get into the story without getting lost in a fictitious world.

I highly recommend this book and this series of books. They have all been page turners thus far, and I have the same expectation for the final book coming up.

An edge-of-your seat thriller! Always lots of action, intrigue, danger, and a view that God is working through all of it towards an end. The end-times aspect of the story is familiar as Lahaye and Jenkins also brought us the Left Behind series. As the series timelines cross, I'll be interested to see how this series compares.

I love that this is an exciting action story, but also that it is clean (no need to put up my defenses against offensive language and actions), honors God, and isn't centered around a romance!

Looking forward to read the next (last) in the series.

I have really enjoyed the Left Behind Series and did not know of this or that LaHaye had any other books. This one was a little over my head at first because of the technical stuff. But it finally grabbed me and it was just as exciting as all his books have been. It too is a great story!

An exciting book with a plot that keeps you reading to the Rapture and beyond,

I could not have enjoyed the action scenes more, Reading this in 201( I can see the truth based upon the Bible, the changing (Anti Christ movement in Our Government) values in places of Leadership and our culture, I did not see any glaring deviations from Scripture as some have claimed,

This was a fun thriller. I thought it was the end of "The End" series, but maybe not. I'm wondering if it's a prequel to the "Left Behind" series, but I guess I'll find out if I read or listen to that one.

Good as Left Behind only on a High Tech Level

If you read Left Behind, and I did and loved it, this series is like that but on high tech steroids. You can't help but cheer for the good guys but you must keep reading as they face so many harrowing challenges page after page.

Although I'm not outwardly religious, I find these books to be extremely uplifting!

In today's complicated world with a leader that, for the first time in my life, I absolutely do not trust I find that I need this assurance.
