In the fifth installment of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter, Chloe has been forced to make her decision to leave the community earlier than anticipated. To keep her family safe, she leaves with the vampire Trevor, who she had previously discovered was her father and the man responsible for her mother’s murder. Chloe is now in an entirely new element. She is not surrounded by vampire hunters anymore, but living with one of those which vampire hunters strive to kill. Living with Trevor, Chloe’s only human contact is the housekeeper and the tutor Trevor hired to teach her.
After nearly a year of being a prisoner in Trevor's home, Chloe begins to believe it may not be so bad. That is, until she discovers Trevor’s true intentions for her, the terrible plan he put into motion before she was even born.
Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her best selling novella series, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series and her full length vampire novel called Savior (A Higher Collective Novel).
She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!
But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. Part 5 is my favourite edition to The Vampire Hunter's Daughter series to date! I just felt overall, more excitement with this book because Chole is right in the "dragon's den" and it's intense. I'm glad that we finally get to learn more about Chloe's dad Trevor. I loved hearing his background story of how he became a vampire but I can't believe what a diabolical asshole he is. He definitely won't be winning father of the year anytime soon lol. I also loved the introduction of new characters and I can't wait to find out if they can be trusted or not. Jennifer Malone Wright has done it again. She has given shocks and surprises in the least amount of pages that she can and leaves the reader begging for more. Another five start read from this talented author. With each book the story gets better and better. With an ending like that I can't wait to scoop up book six. I would recommend this book to vampire and YA lovers. And anyone else who enjoys a great series.
Wow, what a storyline. It does hurry up the time a little bit in this one, but what a good storyline. Couldn't put it down & had to read part 6 right after.
I am so sad that I have had this book for over a year and it just sat in my Kindle, sadly, waiting for me to open it and read it.
Gah! I am such a crazy person sometimes.
I hate it when I have no idea that a wonderful series is just sitting there, waiting for me to get my act together and start it.
I am so glad that the author nudged me into starting it. If I hadn't who knows how long it would have sat there and I would have been missing out.
I love discovering series that are just fabulous and yet unknown. I love spreading the word about them.
And this is quite the series. Right away we are swept into the story with a whirl wind of non stop action as Chloe's whole life is about to take a drastic change and secrets are revealed.
After she witnesses the brutal murder of her mother by vampires and saved by another group of vampire hunters, Chloe learns there was a lot she didn't know about her mother's life and even her own.
She finds out that not only was her mother a vampire hunter from a prestigious blood line and one of the best there were but that her father also happens to be a vampire and he has been searching for her since the day she was born.
If that wasn't weird enough she is thrown into a new town and home, a community especially designed for vampire hunter where she learns she has a grandfather she never knew existed and that she too, will be training to take her mother's place in the family line.
Yep, her world is about to change.
This is such a fun series and I love that it is broken up in parts (may sound strange to some, I know) I love that I can read it when I don't have a whole lot of time and still get something action packed and that will leave me eager to start the next installment. And each installment just keeps getting better and better.
I do have to warn you though, this will be a series that you will want more than one part before you start it because, one just won't be enough. And the great part? you can try the first part in this series for free, you can purchase it on Amazon and Smashwords free of charge. Pretty fabulous right?
So what are you waiting for, go out, give it a try. You won't regret it!
I give this series a very solid 4 Stars and can't wait to read more!!!
"The Vampire Hunter's Daughter, Part V" begins shortly after Chloe runs away from the hunters to join her Dad, Trevor. Daddy dearest has basically blackmailed her and she is trying to protect her friends and family. Trevor lives in style, an expansive mansion and Chloe's room is incredible. However, he does not allow her to leave the grounds and they only see each other at dinner.
While residing at the mansion, Chloe continues to train. Her body is getting stronger as well as her fire throwing ability. She wants to be in top condition if she is ever going to escape. Additionally, she asks Trevor for books about vampire and he even gets her a tutor, Oscar so that she can continue her high school education.
Then, one evening during a dinner party of Trevor's vampire guests, Chloe overhears a conversation between two vamps that indicates that Trevor has one sole use for her and it is not walking her down the aisle. Chloe takes off and runs but of course is recapture and imprisoned. She manages to escape once more but is capture again but this time Drew is captured as well. Will they make it out alive or will they fall victims to the diabolical plans of her father?
I enjoyed this short story but once again, it felt like just a tease. These stories are "never" long enough and if you strung them together you might have one complete book. I wish Ms. Wright would provide her fans with double the amount of information in one book. It would only be fair. I would like to read this series for more than one hour.
Have I mentioned I just love this serial novel? This installment was amazing. Unlike the previous installments, this one takes over a very long time span. We see Chloe as she adjusts to the changes in her life based on her decision to go with her father, Trevor in an attempt to save the people of her community. I loved seeing Chloe mature as she struggled with things no teen should ever face. Not just the evil vamp stuff, but the fact that her father really is not at all the type of father anyone should every have and that she had to leave everyone she cared about while still mourning the loss of her mother. Wow, I just made this read sound depressing and it was not at all. If you have read the previous installments, this is a must read. If you have not, go download part one and begin this wonderful journey. It is free!!! I am loving this series!
WOW! Wow! WOW! WOW!!! This book is GREAT just like all her others!!! I began my journey with the free version of Part I, & immediately bought Parts II-V. I read them all in 2 days with the exception to Part VI because it was not out quite yet. I just could not put the books down!! Love EVERYTHING from the characters to the action packed scenarios Chloe gets caught up in! Jennifer Malone Wright has true talent drawing you into her story & making you want MORE more MORE! After you're finished with this series & left wanting more I suggest you follow up with her novel The Birth of Jaiden. ;-D It was also a FABULOUS book!!!! It should tide you over for a bit until she gets her follow-up series Arcadia Falls out to read. :)
This is the 5th installment to The Vampire Hunter's Daughter.
Chloe has left the community to keep her family and friends safe. She gives herself up to Trevor, her father. Over the past year, she has been a prisoner in Trevor's home. No contact with anyone on the outside, unless Trevor brings them in, and she can't leave the grounds. She is trying to make the most of it hoping that she will soon get revenge for her mothers death. Everything is going okay, considering the circumstances, until Chloe over hears what Trevor's true intentions for her are. Now she has to change her plans and find a way to escape before it is too late.
Loved this installment! Each part gets better and better.

Another amazing addition to the series. I couldn't put it down once I started! Until the end you don't know if Trevor is actually trying to be a father, or if he has something else in mind. Several new characters are introduced, one of which is the hot siren, Oscar. Who can resist a man that sings and plays guitar for you?! I can't wait to read the next part and find out what happens.
I waited anxiously for the 5th installment of The Vampire Hunter's Daughter to be released and I was not disappointed. The plot was clear and concise and left me, as usual, wanting to read more. I absolutely can't wait for the 6th installment to publish. I hope Jennifer doesn't leave me hanging too long!
10*s. I purchased my copy from smashwords.com and I am here to leave my review. WOW!! This is by far my favorite installment in the series!! We learn the struggles that Chloe is having and we also learn about her father and how Trent came about!! This is a MUST read for all ages!! Thank you, Jennifer, for this amazing installment in The Vampire Hunter's Daughter!!
reading these books is like reading a couple chapters at a time i love em!! and really cant wait til they are all out so i can read them all together. i must say though in this one she acted like a lil kid throwing a tantrums and being childish
Part five resolves the end of part four with a pleasing mix of action and introspection as Chloe learns more about herself and her father and, more importantly, more about her feelings. Another satisfying episode in an enjoyable series.
Lots of new information in this part of the series. Chloe finds out new things pertaining to her conception and the reason her vampire father wants her by his side. Another great installment!
The truth about her fathers intentions are revealed and this part of the storyline is intense! No spoilers, just brace yourself! Exciting read and can’t wait to see what’s next. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
A longer part, finally! Chloe is a prisoner in her father's mansion, which see seems surprisingly okay with (aside from teenage backtalk), until danger and drama ensues.
Author Jennifer Malone Wright is definitely at it again, keeping us coming back for more with this installment of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Very nicely done I might add too.
I refuse to let this series end!!! *takes a deep breath* this installment is going to be so hard not to give to many spoilers away…. Ughhhh
So much is happening in this installment, covering a longer time frame, but if I were Chloe it would feel one heck of a lot longer!!!!
Chloe is no longer living in the vampire hunter community…. Nope, she’s living with her father, Trevor!!! Talk about a complete flip around. But she’s living there for a reason; to get revenge against her father for the attack against the village and those she loves. And for the murder of her mother. Revenge she WILL have and get.. *nods head* (Get him Chloe)
As the characters continue to grow, we are acquainted to new ones. (yayyy)
Secrets about Chloe are unveiled. How she manages from going insane or crazy is beyond me. Boy, there are some doozies of twists and turns, lots of evil-mean vampires, triumphs and so so much more!!! I’m off to review part 6 (Arcadia Falls) now. *whistles a happy tune * I say review, because I read the whole series before I started my reviews. But believe me this wasn’t by choice, I couldn’t type due to surgery- sooo I did the next best thing!!! I kept reading and reading.
Well I’ll see ya once again when I return. *angel hugz*
As hinted in the previous installment, Chloe had made the decision to leave the hunter community and live with Trevor, her vampire father. This decision was made to protect everyone she loves as she can’t bear to lose another loved one. Thrown into another world she knows little to nothing about.
Chloe is surrounded by those she was training to kill know with very little human contact. After a year of living with Trevor and being tutored by one of the two humans she is allowed to have contact with, Chloe soon learns that Trevor has plans for her.
This is another great installment in the series (yup I’m saying it again). This series is moving along fast yet things are happening at a great pace and things are being thrown in to the mix to add even more excitement. I mean how much more can this girl endure?? The new twist makes you want to continue one to find out what will happen to Chloe and if she will be able to get out of the house that she is imprisoned in.
Short book=Short review This is my favorite TVHD book thus far! In this one, we finally find out why Chloe's mother ran away and never went back and why Chloe's so important to the vampire who fathered her. Even though we get to see plenty of twisted, plain creepy vampires, we also get to see some semi-human traits to Trevor, which I loved. This book is definitely worth a read!
Chloe is now living with her Vampire father. Everything seems more normal than expected and she finds herself seeing more to her father than she expected. However she can't forget that he ordered her mother to be killed. Her main goal is still to kill him and then go back to the hunter's and her grandfather.
Months go by with nothing much happening. Chloe isn't allowed to leave the compound of the house and she is going stir crazy with nothing to do so she keeps up with her training and honing her skills like the hunter's taught her.
Soon Chloe finds herself fighting against time as Trevor's (her father) real motives for having her there is finally revealed. Will she be able to escape her prison on time?
This book series is really a fun read. I have enjoyed all of the story so far and i would recommend it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book was intense! So many twists and a few surprises. The ending is such a teaser! I cannot wait to read part 6. I don't want the series to end. I couldn't put the book down I just had to know what happens. Trevor seems like he does care about Chloe but as we find out there is a reason of why he cares for her. In this book we get introduced to new characters. Oscar and Alice are small characters but end up playing a big role I'm just not sure how big of a role yet. In this book we find out many things about Chloe, Trevor, Drew, Oscar, and it's very interesting and at times shocking things. Can't wait to read part 6!!!!
I thought this was a cute story about a young girl with a vampire father and a vampire hunter mother. This makes her quite unusual. Chloe is young and inexperienced. Her mother has hidden her away most of her life and she didn't know anything about vampires or vampire hunters. Her first experience with them is when vampires enter her home and murder her mother in front of her eyes. She then goes to live in the vampire community with her grandfather and a cute guy named Drew. Through out this series she learns and grows into her powers and her relationship grow and change too. I thought it was a cute series and enjoyed reading each of the mini series books all in a row.
Chloe is now a prisoner of her vampire father Trevor. She has decided to do what she can as far as training goes so she will always be ready for a fight, or make her escape. During a dinner party with her father's vampire friends, she discovers part of her father's plans of what he intends to do with her and why he fought so hard to find her. Can Chloe make it out of there before something deathly happens to her? Another visit from Sostrate may hold the answers she needs on getting away.
Wow what a great installment in the series. Deep dark into the vampire realm is so cool. I loved the descriptions of Chloe's room/prison. I knew Trevor was bad news but I thought maybe he would have a softer spot for his child, apparently not. It was thrilling to read and kept me on the edge wondering what would happen next. I can't wait to read part 6 and find out what happens next in Chloe's journey.
I've continued rradin because all 6 books came together in the collection but I have been soo tempted to stop over and over again, especially since it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Again so much of this is summarized or generalized. And now the love triangle heats up again as the finally kiss(come on man, she only 15 years old. If you going on 20 and attracted to a 15 year old, there's something wrong there.)
