🌟 One of the most effective PMP resources I've come across

If you're planning to get PMP certified, this book/course is honestly a game changer.

It doesn’t just throw theory at you — it gives you:

🧠 A solid foundation with focused training on the most challenging areas of the current exam.
⏱ A way to cut your study time to 8–40 hours — seriously.
📚 A huge question bank with realistic, exam-style virtual tests.
🎯 A personalized study plan that adapts to your pace.
💡 Insider tips and strategies you won’t find in generic prep books.

By the end of it, you won’t just feel "prepared" — you’ll feel confident.

I especially appreciated the insights from over 14 years of experience shared throughout the material. You get 4x more content than most other courses, plus clear direction on what you know, what you don’t know, and how to fix it.

Highly recommended for:

Anyone who wants to stop wasting time and start focusing on passing — smart and fast.

She
He

I really loved this book. It helped me during my preparation for the PMP exam. I passed from the first time (proficient) in all knowledge areas.
The beauty of this book is that you feel that Rita is a friend helping you with the exam preparation. I highly recommend this book for anyone thinking of taking the PMP exam.

I passed my exam!! Woohoo!
🎉🎉😭😭🎉🎉🤣🤣🥂🥂

This book was helpful, but I recommend using the next edition instead, as it integrates much more agile and you're gonna need it. I also highly recommend PMI study hall.

Exhilarating read start to finish, especially if you appreciate stakeholder management, managing risk, and fulfilling organizational strategic values while delivering end-user value.

I am a better project manager for reading this. I would give it 3 more stars if it was even longer.

There are many books for learning project management or PMP. But this book definitely aims at passing exam. I had fair amount of knowledge to carry out projects well at my organisation. But passing PMP means giving PMI expected answers which one finds out upon giving first test after first round of learning. I had gone through the entire PMBOK and was scoring in the range of 50 to 60%. That's where I started looking for other preparation sources and I found this book. I'm writing this review hoping it may help someone looking for feedback. The book helps develop thinking the way PMI does and answer accordingly. It also highlights time to time what good project management means beyond the immediate scope of exam but yes it doesn't fail to highlight any pitfalls. As you read you kind of feel the book is written for you! If you think you are good project manager but are not sure if you will pass the exam in first go then this book is definitely something you can rely on.

I mean, not a "fun" read, but I'm convinced this book is the reason I passed the PMP. It took me three months of serious study. I read this book twice (and did every activity), and then I skimmed it two more times. I passed on my first attempt, and was even "above target," and I feel like I have Rita to thank for that.

This was an excellent prep guide for the PMP exam. Following the recommended study plan described in the book enabled me to pass my PMP exam on the first attempt. I would highly recommend also getting the complete “PMP Exam Prep System”. That bundle includes the Hot Topics audio books which are a nice high-level review tool. But, most importantly, it also includes the PM FASTrack Exam Simulation Software. The Exam Simulation is a great exam prep tool that will let you know with confidence when you are ready for the exam (or if you are not ready).

I read completely through the book twice. I found the PMP Exam Prep book to be well written and organized in a logical fashion. It is written in an easy to understand and follow fashion that is academically appropriate to the topic. This guide includes everything I needed to study to fill the gaps in my project management knowledge without overwhelming me with material.

Out of 3 PMP Exam Prep guides that I used (not including the PMBOK), I found Rita’s PMP Exam Prep to be the best by a very wide margin. The closest competitor was the “Head First PMP” (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...). But, I found the “Head First PMP” book to be too “cartoonish” and not written at an appropriate academic level for the topic. I don’t need to have the subject matter “dumbed down” for me to understand it.

Lastly, I would recommend checking for the latest revision of this book, as I have heard that there will be a new version of the PMBOK and an updated PMP exam coming soon.

This is easily the best book for PMP preparation in the market. Particularly those who are experienced project managers and want to learn will like this book. There is a lot of content to digest. So if you prefer to read less but still want to learn sufficient information to pass PMP; you may want to consider other options (e.g. Andy Crowe). However, if you are prepared to read through a lot of information and committed to learning; there is no better book for PMP preparation than this.

I read and committed myself to the practice problems in this book in preparation for the PMP exam. While this book was helpful in understanding the traditional/predictive PMP concepts, it didn’t fully cover agile methodology that is crucial for the 2021 exam. I recommend pairing this with the PMI Agile Handbook.

Rita Mulcahy's book is why I passed my PMP exam. I read the obligatory PMBOK, and attended a very engaging and worthwhile bootcamp. But listening to Rita's latest edition of the PMP Exam Prep on my way to and from work for a month really ended up being the most effective presentation of the material. The PMBOK is dry and difficult to read through. This tries to really make the information appealing for the reader/listener. It was difficult to seek back and forth when I wanted to hear something over again. Also, I'd recommend having the actual print version of the book. That was particularly nice to have for a second pass of the "Tricks of the Trade" and or the areas that I knew were my "problem" areas.

Overall, I'd absolutely recommend this book to anyone studying for the PMP certification.

I didn't have time to finish the book prior to taking the PMP exam nbut I did pass the exam the 1st time. I liked this book mch better than the Andy Crowe book. The book uses an understanding approach rather than a memorization approach. It includes tasks for the processes and the sequencing of the tasks. This is an important concept for the exam since many questions ask what should be done first or next. It also includes the material on the exam that's not covered in the PMBOK. I would highly recommend the current version to anyone who is preparing for the PMP exam. Please note that my rating reflects it's usefulness as a study aid.

This was required reading for my PMP study group. Very dense, but also written in a way that was readable and engaging. Really liked the explanations after the practices tests. I am concerned though that with the changes to the PMP test in the last year or so, that much of this content is not relevant to what will be tested (that it has moved to testing more towards Agile). I can comment on this more after I have taken the test.
