Alexandra Ivy, author of the Guardians of Eternity series, draws readers deeper into the world of the Immortal Rogues--three vampires entrusted to protect the future of their kind. . .
To other vampires, mortals are weak, uninteresting creatures. To Lucien Valin, they are infinitely fascinating. Especially Jocelyn Kingly--once the prize of London society, now an outcast. As the vampire assigned to guard her, Lucien is relishing his task. But her beguiling goodness puts her in terrifying danger. Not just from the traitor intent on claiming her mysterious amulet, but from the desire Lucien struggles to keep in check.
Youthful infatuation already cost Jocelyn her good name. But even with little to lose, instinct tells her that accepting Lucien as a tenant in her home is a devil's bargain. As she roams London's streets at night, helping the most wretched, she feels a dark force drawing near. And Lucien--magnetic, charming, irresistible--may turn out to be her savior, her lover, or the means to change her destiny forever.
Praise for My Lord Vampire
"The romantic dynamic is smoldering and the seduction focuses on compelling trust, increasing the appeal." – Publishers Weekly
Ever read one of those books where you know you're not really interested in reading but you can't but it down? This is what this book was like for me. The whole time I was reading it, I kept thinking to myself, "Is this storyline going to pick up? Where's that extra kick I'm used to getting from my authors?" This book had no kick but I couldn't put it down. I wouldn't even say it was a smooth read. It was more of something to do to pass the time away. Yet and still, I couldn't put the book down. After finishing the story I was left with a lot of questions? what happens to the street kids Miss Kingsly takes care of? Will the former women of the street get better housing? They get married and then what? Will this pick up in the third book? Apparently each of the books can be read separate as there is background information in the second book but not enough that the reader has a clue as do what is going on? Ok, bad vampires are out to get special female maidens who are bounded by the Mediallion given to them by Nefri, the head vampire. Good vampires are sent forth to protect said maidens from the bad guys. Of course, good vampires fall in love with said maidens, bad guys show ugly head, fight ensues, bad guys win and good guys get the girls. That's it. No meat, nothing to sink your teeth into while waiting for the next installment. Now of course I will be getting the next installment because hey I love books and I'm hoping the third one is much better. Then of course there is always that re-read of all three back to back to see how the storyline flows. Then again...I just may be a sucker for punishment.
This is virtually a repeat of the previous book. The only differences being the names and personalities of the H/h, the villain and the heroine's circumstances.
It's made more clear why the Medallion was split and given to the mortal women but it still seems to be a very stupid move when they can't protect themselves from vampires! Although I can't really quibble since I'm reading a Vampire romance and I expect things to make sense? Duh!
Ternyata novel ini 11-12 dgn yg pertama. O.k.lah, not bad.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. Lucien has been assigned to watch lady Jocelyn. She has a powerful amulet and is in danger even if she doesn't realize it. She has no fear it seems as she has already been cast out of society and now spends her time helping those in need. She roams the night feeding orphans or lending a helping hand. She doesn't realize she is being hunted until people begin to turn up dead and clues lead to her. Lucien is a vampire and it's job to protect her. He must make sure she stays alive but where most vampires hate humans he seems to like them especially Jocelyn. They have to fight to stay alive and they might find something more to live for in the end.
Jocelyn is a fantastic character. Even if society and her family have thrown her to the curve she still does what she believes in and helps everyone she can. She doesn't care for titles and even though she has come from money she doesn't act that way. Her family has turned their back to her long ago and she moved on. She lives a lonely life and seems to prefer it. Lucien is a hotty vampire that tries his best to protect Jocelyn. She doesn't make it easy and he has to hide what he is from her. You can tell their is plenty of sparks between these two and they make a wonderful couple.
This story starts out great and doesn't stop being that way. As Jocelyn and Lucien try to help people and figure out just who is killing people and why. Lucien knows why but he can't say but he really isn't for sure who. It is a great book with lots of action and a great blend of historical romance and paranormal romance. I love how these two come together and it is so awesome. Jocelyn really shows her strength in the end as she does everything she can to save Lucien. I look forward to reading more in this series to see what the other guardians must face and see what kind of trouble they get into.
The Lord Eternity is the second of three books which tells of three vampires who are sent among the mortals to protect young women from evil vampires who want to destroy the veil and control humans and vampires alike. It is a love story and a story about evil and good. These books can be read by teenagers and adults. It has an adult theme but is not graphic in anyway. I enjoyed the books and the story of how the vampires struggle to protect the young women..
cukup lama menyelesaikan ini bukan krn membosankan tapi lagi tergila2 dengan wattpad..maklum nuwbie jadinya sibuk baca e-book dulu..
alurnya termasuk lambat tapi chemistry-nya kerasa dan harus gw akuin kalo hero sangat sabar menghadapi heroine yang begitu pesimis stlh scandal yg mencoreng namanya..
Not one of my favorite books in this series. I read it because I expected the same excitement as all of her other books I have read. The story was good but not up to my expectations of my favorite author. Lacked action on his part. Although he was supposed to be the hero and lover, he seemed to be lacking the traits her other vampire heroes possess.
A good old fashion romance with a vampires and I'm glad this time, the book after the party planned :)) The characters balanced either so much that sometime I thought they switched genders. LOL. Talk about role reversal! Cute.
Definitely not as good as the first book of the series. This book seemed to follow the same outline but was much slower paced. I love Alexandra Ivy's books but this one couldn't seem to hold my interest. I think the characters were just too bland.
Ummm, WOW! Not what I was expecting at all. Now I need books 1&3 to see what else happens. Looks like a run to the book store and hope they have them. my favorite part is when the heroine learns the true value of love... it is a definite recommend to read...
Enjoyable paranormal romance with vampires, Jack the Ripper-like murderer terrorising Regency London, heroine with sociallly conscious mind and silly but gorgeous cover - those colours!
This was better than the first one, but the ending was still a little rushed for my tastes; though, at least it was better explained than the ending of the first book in the series.
