Tinker Bell is the best pots-and-pans-talent fairy in all of Pixie Hollow. But then she loses her tinker’s hammer and her world is turned upside down. The good news is that Tink has a spare hammer. The bad news is that she left it at Peter Pan’s hideout and they’re no longer speaking! Will Tink be able to make up with her old friend–or will she have to give up her talent forever?
When I was six, I bought my first book all on my own - it was this one, and I found it at the book fair at school. When I was 18 I found a copy of it with a flashy yellow sticker saying I only had to pay 50¢ to take it home.
Ahem. I paid the 50¢. This story makes my heart happy.
I loved it. The mentions of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell's feelings towards him, her relationship with Terence, everything was so cute. "Choose you" he said, placing his hand on her head. But he said it softly. None of the rest of the fairies could have heard." My. Heart. "You are Tinker Bell, sound and fine as a bell. Shiny and jaunty as a new pot. Brave enough for anything, the most courageous fairy to come in a long year."
This series was one of my FAVORITES as a kid even though I think I only read a few of them! Pixie Hollow/ Tinkerbell/ Fairies were my LIFELINE as a kid and I'm so happy I decided to revisit my favorites. My boyfriend bought me 23/24 of these books as an early anniversary gift and I'm so happy! These are so much fun. I'm mostly rereading/ finishing this series in preparation for the Queen Clarion x Lord Milori book coming out from Allison Saft in 2025 just so I'm fully into the Pixie Hollow-verse!
If you're a fan of the movies, these books don't follow that at all and also connect to Disney's Peter Pan which the movies didn't! This book just follows Tinkerbell, a pots and pans fairy who loses her hammer and suddenly feels like she loses her talent!
this book was one of the few books i had at home as a child, and i'm so delighted to learn that i love the world of pixie hollow now as much as i did then! i've always enjoyed this version of tinker bell with her fiery determination and awful temper. the story was able to narrate the current events of tink's life in pixie hollow as much as it related a past life of adventures with peter pan. i loved it. 🥰
Even if your little darling loves fairies and Tinkerbell, don't read this rubbish to her. It is insipid, bland, dull, silly, gender-stereotyped and sends bad messages about friendship, confidence and talent. Plus the version we borrowed from the library has "Disneyficated" illustrations, which means Tinkerbell has pouty lips, pencil-thin eyebrows, wasp waist, giant doe eyes, and a backless, strapless outfit. I see other editions of this book at least have beautiful illustrations by Judith Holmes Clarke.
(Also, I think this edition is condensed, as compared to an excerpt of another edition I found online)
Listened to it as an Audiobook and was an okay read. I never do Audiobooks because they’re way to expensive for me to buy them and I feel I don’t pay attention as much. But it was good none the less.
I think this was such a cute read and a really good first novel to start the series (I FORGOT HOW CUTE TERRENCE AND TINKBELL WERE AWWWWWW) I felt like i was 10 years old reading this nd loved it <3
dont judge me, i needed a comfort read that didn't take much of my brain, and i just love tinker bell so much ill probably end up reading the rest of the series bc this was so cute also, this made peter pan seem low key toxic, and im here for it bc i always a weird feeling about him in the peter pan movies (especially in the first one). so im really glad tink realised she doesn't need peter anymore
Are you ever too old to read a Tinkerbell story?! I've always loved Tink, she's very enchanting. I love that she makes mistakes, works hard to fix them and she's got an awful temper - it just makes me love her all the more. The artwork throughout was absolutely fantastic, I definitely got distracted from reading to admire it.
This was a reread, I absolutely loved this series as a kid so I wanted to read it again for nostalgic sake. I gave it 5 stars (or 4.5 rounded up) because I think that’s what child Madison would’ve rated it. 😆 I highly recommend this series for young readers or even older readers who love Tinker Bell and all the Pixie Hollow fairies 😊
I have to remember this is a kid’s book when giving my rating. I read this with my 8 year old daughter. She seemed to really like it and liked the parts that Peter Pan came into. I thought it was a cute story. Especially for someone who loves Tinkerbell and Pixie Hallow. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the last chapter definitely could have had more.
“You would do that?” she asked. “Tink,” said Terence, “I’m your friend. You don’t even need to ask.” He gave Tink a sparkling smile. This time, Tink saw it and she smiled back.
this was so fun to re-read. I remember this book and all the illustrations from when I was a child, I would literally spend hours trying to make up stories about fairies all inspired by this book. So good!
