This is the first of these volumes that I have actually liked. So I suppose being a supportive father does have the occasional payoff.

After Lady discovers Diamond and Pearl are not her real bodyguards, she is asked to return home. Having decided that Team Galaxy is too dangerous, instead she reteams with them to try and save all of Sinnoh Country. This splits up the team which actually markedly improves the book.

This volume focuses heavily on poor Diamond. He really gets to step out on his own, outside of Pearl's shadow, and it makes for some entertaining reading.

Still, I wouldn't recommend reading this series unless your kid asks you to.

This sub-series of Pokemon is the most annoying. I can't stand Platinum.

A very, very generic volume, which didn’t stand out at all. Pretty disappointed so far…

This volume has made it obvious that I really disliked the character of Pearl as part of the group because for the most part he is not in this volume.

Which gives Dia a chance to show how good of a character he is. The training on Iron Island was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it was going to be and Riley is just as cool a character in the games, even if he’s just a random NPC in the game.

The story finally feels like it’s kicked off properly but I get that there’s still a little bit of story to tell before we get the big battles for the climax as we’re only about half way through the Diamond and Pearl saga.

I cannot help but be impressed with the planning behind the plot of this series. Small features in the earlier volumes come to have meaning in later events. This is children's literature, but is has much to offer to adults as well.

I enjoyed this one. The beginning felt a bit rushed and I would have loved to have seen a bit more inside Platinum's head.
We got to learn a lot more about team Galactic's plan, and our three heroes are planning to stop them. There is definitely going to be a lot more training ahead of them.

This volume focuses mainly on Dia[mond] and his stuff. I guess it's nice he caught the Shieldon. There's a lot of in-fighting.

I really liked this, the fact that Lady's name was revealed in this volume and the fact that she ends up being a really good friend to both Diamond and Pearl even though she felt lied to was great. What was even better was that she ended up doing so because of her own hypocrisy which she ended up bringing up. Their strategy to fight Team Galactic by splitting up was great and can't wait to see what they face when they face the Galactic Commanders.

The D/P/Pt series continues to tell an emotional and action-driven story. Platinum's identity has been revealed as the heir to the Berlitz family and the tensions between Dia and Pearl continue to mount!

I still love my favorite trios Dia, Pearl, and Lady but than something bad happens to separate them. It made me sad being separated from their journeys but they will meet again. Lady will learn secrets that she will have to face as well as Diamond and Pearl. Excited for the next book!!! :)

This story ramped up in this one and put all the pieces together for rearranging at the end of the book. If reading this as a serial, it would create a lot of suspense. Not bad for a title that is supposedly selling pokemon cards.

There definitely a moral slant to these things.

This volume was ok. It just wasn't the excitement that I saw with the other ones. I gave this volume 3 stars for a reason. I would give a 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.
