To hold me over till season 3.

Edited to add:
Just finished. Liked it but didn't LOVE it. Worth reading for the flashback scenes in Derek's POV, though I wonder how much of it, if any, is considered canon. Really liked Lydia's scenes. Not enough Stiles for me (but he's my favorite, so there can never be enough Stiles).

I'm actually surprised at the amount of praise for this book. In my opinion, it is really just a marketing scheme and monetizing on the popularity of Teen Wolf. Do. Not. Buy. This. Book. Save your money and go read some free fan fiction, because it is going to be better than this.

I love Teen Wolf. Teen Wolf is my favorite show, actually. The show itself is very good at overcoming the reputation as a bad supernatural teen drama/comedy aired on MTV. If the show was like this book, I would have never watched past the first few episodes. This book is what everyone expects Teen Wolf to be, really bad.

Holder doesn't understand the Teen Wolf characters. She turns Lydia into an idiot, when that isn't the case at all. Yes, at the end she shows how smart she is. The rest of the book, though? She's a bumbling idiot and that is not Lydia at all. The characterization is awful and very choppy. The author is useless at keeping the characters in character.

The plot is well, to put it simply, dumb. Jackson gets kidnapped and Lydia sends Scott and Allison to look for him. Scott and Allison make out a lot for no reason, and there was a paragraph dedicated to Allison feeding Scott a fry. The attempts at going further into the Werewolf mythology/Werewolf verse were feeble and a bit laughable.

There is a lot lengthy, unnecessary details on appearances and people licking their lips. At one point the Holder felt the need to describe Coach Finstock's hair as "wild and free." Thank you for that very unnecessary detail that only managed to annoy me and get Lady Gaga's "Hair" stuck in my head.

The dialogue is not written well. It sincerely lacks the sharp quickness that show is very good at. The author isn't very funny either, which makes all of Stiles lines very cringe worthy.

The only thing that made this book worth reading was the Derek, Laura and Kate flashbacks. But at the same time, even those was filled with awkward language and was missing everything that makes the show good.

Okay, that may be a bit harsh, but I'm a bit frustrated that things like this get published and people get paid for it when there are amazing writers out there that are producing way better fan fiction and aren't getting paid for it, hile those behind this badly written book are being paid for their lame attempt at fan fiction. Or rather, fiction based on Teen Wolf because it is clearly not written by a fan, just someone who wants to make a few bucks.

So I forgot the first rule of TV show tie in books: only risk it with comics or Star Trek, nothing else will be at all well written. Somehow, though, I got caught up in the momentum of the show and decided to risk it.

The show is actually worth watching, if only for Stiles Stilinsky and Danny Mahealani. What's that? A cannonically gay character on an urban fantasy show--not a metaphor, stereotype, or implied subtext? And he's a complex character who never gets a Very Special Episode? Good with computers, popular, and the goalie on the lacrosse team? Yeah, it's worth a look at the pilot. And once you're there, well, Stiles. But the book...

Mostly, this book just lacks the wit, sarcasm, and whedonesque irreverent horror of the television show. I do not particularly recommend it.

FINALLY. IT’S OVER. I AM FREE.

look, it’s not like i went into this expecting fine literature, but it’s gotta be said: that was NOT good. i thought the bar was low, this book went lower. if you’re gonna publish your teen wolf fanfiction (which, let’s be clear, i support with every bone in my body) it’s gotta at least be readable and true to the characters, and neither was true for this! mild spoilers for teen wolf below (unavoidable sorry)

it’s gotta be REALLY bad for me to comment on Derek of all people, but boy did this botch his stupid ass. Nancy, you’re gonna look me in the eye and say the reason he doesn’t trust Allison because… he’s sexist???? Look, that man is a bucketful of problems, but sexism is, surprisingly, not one of them. There is an extremely clear-cut reason he doesn’t trust Allison, and it is not because she is a girliepop, it’s because her whole family are evil werewolf hunters and also, HER AUNT GROOMED HIM AND BURNT HIS WHOLE FAMILY IN A FIRE. I wouldn’t trust anyone in her family either!! oh wait *listens closely* did you say you would like to see her groom him on-page? no, absolutely nobody wanted that? well, Nancy provides anyways! i can’t tell which is more uncomfortable: that his sister calls him a “matable age” (he is sixteen. he is sixteen years old) and then jokingly calls her a “cougar,” or that there’s a fakeout where he throws up in her apartment and then goes home, just to come back and fuck her anyways. this is a book for teens by the way!! oh my god!! not great guys!!

I also didn’t like how Allison’s only character trait is being impulsive and making out with Scott, and also all of the mystery of the book hinges on not already knowing the plot of teen wolf season 1 (??? because for sure you would be reading this if you’ve never seen it) and also it gives Jackson a mid-book POV chapter that just tells you exactly what happens to him instead of building that up for the climax. Sure. Whatever. Plot beats who? Don’t even get me started on the single appearance of a homeless person and how Scott is so afraid of this person that he wishes he has pepper spray (Scott, you are a werewolf). There’s also briefly a sex worker on-page. No, it is not handled normally. That’s all you need to know.

Two stars, one star entirely because i laughed out loud a couple times against my better judgement, and also because there is a scene with young Stiles that caught me off guard enough that i actually had an emotion about it.

This is an absolutely skippable Teen Wolf instillation that strips all the charms of Teen Wolf and turns them into generic, heterosexual mush. Look, i KNOW the source material, and I can’t believe I am saying this, but fanfiction is supposed to give more depth to the story, and this actually managed to be shallower than Teen Wolf itself. Take me back to the bisexual lizard clubbing scene, please, I want to live in that Teen Wolf forever.

ORIGINALLY POSTED AT OMFG!Books

I was a little surprised when I first found out there was going to be a Teen Wolf book. As a gigantic fan of the show I was both excited and weary. Sometimes tie-in novels aren't exactly... good. The general issue with them, I find, is lack of proper characterization, poor plots, whacky ideas and a whole bunch of other things. Sometimes with these things it's like the author only half-watched the show and just wanted a nice paycheck. Then I saw that this was going to be written by Nancy Holder. I remember her from my Buffy and Angel days. I absolutely loved her 3 book Buffy/Angel series called Unseen.

Before starting I was wondering when the events in the book would even take place. The show is in the middle of it's second season right now. Would it take place then? Would it take place somewhere during season one? How would she fit it in? It's not really a spoiler to say, so I will tell you: the events in the novel take place right after episode five of season one.

I'll start off with things I liked about the book. Nancy's characterization was spot-on. She got Scott - if you haven't watched the show he's the main character/protagonist shall we say - right on the money; a little naive, completely in love, coming into his own, caring and strong. She even got Stiles spot on, and he is a hard character to put to print because he's so animated on screen. I was really worried how that was going to turn out because Stiles is my favorite character but he just seems that he would be so hard to write because of all his mannerisms and eccentricities, but Nancy managed to do so wonderfully.

We got a look at every character we had met up until the point it takes place in the show in the novel. There are blurbs of the Argents, Danny, Stiles, Lydia, etc. I thought it gave us a good, rounded out look at how everyone was feeling about the events of the book; the sudden disappearance of Jackson. He goes missing and all that there is to say where he's headed is a vague note that Lydia found. Up until about a little over halfway, the story revolves around everyone trying to find Jackson, which makes sense.

But then, suddenly, we are hit with Derek Hale flashbacks. At first I was really enjoying them because I thought it gave a nice look into his past, something we haven't been able to see in the show thus far. We know he lost his family in the fire, we know that only he and his sister Laura survived. The audience just hasn't really been shown much of Derek's past. Laura was even featured in the flashbacks and she was never shown in the show at all, save for a ten second bit right before she was killed. I really loved that. Then I felt the flashbacks started to take away from the general story of the book. They started to feel long winded, drawn out and it was easy to forget what else was happening in the book because there was just so much of the flashbacks. However, I will still say that I like them, there just could have been a little less of them.

I really loved how Nancy was able to throw small things in about character's lives and their pasts. In the show we never see Scott's dad; we don't even know much about him, just that him and Scott's mom are divorced. We see him for a moment in the book and I think Nancy's take on him was a realistic one. We also know little of Stiles's mother. All that the audience knows is that she is dead. How, why and when is unknown. There have only ever been two mentions of her in the entire show so far (once alluding to Stiles's panic attacks after she died and another when his father mentioned that he missed her) but in the book I was hit by Stiles's sudden reminiscing of her by such a simple thing that was going on. It was realistic that anything and everything would remind him of the mother he lost too soon. I also thought it was very creative and realistic of how the author thinks she might have passed away.

All in all, I really enjoyed the book. I truly believe that this has a little bit of everything for all of the fans of the show. It was action packed, well written and something fans should be proud of. Nancy must be a fan of the show herself because everything was just really fantastically done. I really hope she writes more Teen Wolf novels. I know I will definitely read them.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales

Quick & Dirty: Fire may be a main part, but the death it causes holds the vengeance that sets everything in motion.

Opening Sentence: It was the first night of parent-teacher conferences at Beacon Hills High, and everyone in the school parking lot was panicking.

The Review:

What is it with wolves that makes them just sooo hot?!

Beacon Hills. A town where you wouldn’t think that things could go wrong. A town where wolves haven’t made an appearance in almost sixty years. So, why the dead bodies? Maybe because werewolves aren’t wolves, and they have come back to Beacon Hills.

All Scott McCall wanted was to make first string on the Lacrosse team and to get a girlfriend. And getting the Bite helped him reach his goals. But, however, the Bite complicated his life more than anything he thought possible. Who wouldn’t want to have enhanced vision and extra strength and all that good hotness that seems to come with every single werewolf? But, when your girlfriends’ family hunts your kind and they could easily figure it out that you’re one of the monsters that they are trying to rid the world of, yeah, you’d probably hate your life too.

The twisty part about this book is the different point of views and the time changes. Warning readers, if you don’t like confusing then don’t read this book. However, if you think that you can handle it, be my guest. Holder sure does make it very interesting. It’s endless cliffhanger after cliffhanger, leaving you on the edge of your seat. And bouncing back and forth from six years ago to the present just makes you want to read faster, because honestly the book shows you way more than the show, Teen Wolf -which it’s based off of- does. The setting takes place basically in the Beacon Hills Preserve, but shifts to different places depending on whom the point of view is in and where they are at. But in the end, it all goes down at the preserve. All I have to say is get ready for a lot of fire, fire, and more fire.

You will find yourself up late at night busting out laughing at Stiles Stilinski, Scotts loyal best friend. He knows all about Scott being a werewolf and he tries to help. The only bad part about that is that Stiles’ dad is the sheriff in town, and one wrong word to his dad and Scott would be busted. And Derek would be really mad, which is probably an understatement. But Stiles would more or less be dead. Sad face, because you will find yourself falling in love with his witty sense of humor and his clumsiness. I mean, it’s really just adorable and Holder portrays him very well.

Then there’s Derek, another wolf that was born a wolf. And if you didn’t already think he was hot from Teen Wolf, then you will now from the passages that are in the past. They are all mostly in his point of view and it shows him when he was a young, vulnerable, maturing werewolf that thinks he’s in love. Too bad the woman, and yes I mean woman, is a werewolf hunter. And she uses him. Majorly. That’s all I am going to say about that except that there is more and more fire.

Overall, it is a really good book and the way that Holder writes leaves you on the edge, but in the end it all clicks in your head and you’re like wow why didn’t I see that earlier? The end leaves you with the promise of another book, hopefully because I really can’t wait. Holder makes you want to read more and then you find yourself staring at the book, on the final page, and like aww it’s over? (Sad face) But READ THIS BOOK!!! You will definitely love it and it is really worth your time.

Notable Scene:

Scott lifted his head and sniffed the air. Smoke.

Fire!

He bolted upright. His bare feet sank into wet leaves as he scrambled to his feet. He sniffed again, trying to figure out where the fire was. There was so much smoke. Animal panic threatened to overtake his human mind. But he kept it together, getting his bearings. An outcropping of rock, the indentation where he had lain. He had awakened here before–the very first time he had gone sleepwalking.

After the Bite.

FTC Advisory: MTV Books provided me with a copy of On Fire: A Teen Wolf Novel. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

After I read this book I was very disappointed. Maybe it is because when the TV show is one of my favorites so I had high expectations for this book and we all know, "high expectations lead to disappointments."
For people who don't watch this show I don't recommend this book. If you do you will be so turned off and won't ever give the show a chance. You also might be confused by parts of it since there were details and explanations left out. It seems like the author is assuming everyone reading the book has already watched the show.
It starts off with Scott already a werewolf. I would have preferred to get more background of Scott and Stiles being friends and his life at school before the bite. Actually throughout the whole book Scott and Stiles rarely talk to each other.
Nancy Holder did go back to six years ago and showed us the stuff that happened with Derek, his sister Laura, and Kate Argent. (Even that though was.. weird. He loved her after like one day of hanging out with her. I would like to point out page 212. Bestiality: "He wanted to make love with her as a werewolf; he dreamed of it constantly." Ew.)
I also don't recommend this book to the people who do watch the show (lol) because it is nothing like it. If you wanted to read this book for more insight then this is not what you are looking for. The whole plot is completely different from the show. The plot of this book is simply.. stupid? I can't think of a less harsh word. Basically,
Ps. Referring to page 211. It says, (about Derek and Laura) "People said they looked so much like each other that they could be twins." Twins: Identical twins have to be the same sex. It is just one embryo that splits in two so they have the exact same DNA. Fraternal twins is what Derek and Laura would have to be, since one's a boy and one's a girl. Fraternal twins are two different eggs fertilized by two different sperm therefore are no more alike than other siblings.
Pps. Page 234: "So many times, Stiles wished for Derek to up and die. But he hadn't meant for him to really die. Except that he had meant for him to really die." Wtf? Make up your fucking mind.

I was so excited when I saw that I could email the author and get a copy of this book for review. So I immediately did that, and very soon it came in the mail! So I put it on my next to read list since it had already been published. The reason I wanted to read this book is because I was first introduced to the writing of Nancy Holder from her Buffy the Vampire Slayer novelizations. And I always loved the ones that she had written. She has a way of capturing the characters' personalities and making it feel as if you are actually watching an episode of the show. And to be able to do this with such a well crafted show like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, well, you know what a great author that makes her. Teen Wolf is one of my new favorite shows. While I still love the original movie, and the tv show departs quite a bit from that, I love the characters in the show. Especially Stiles. I actually like him much more on the tv show than I did in the movie. Nancy Holder did not disappoint with this tv show tie-in novel.
Now I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that as I watched Teen Wolf during the 1st season, I would often be playing on the computer, so I'm sure there are a few storylines I missed. But I think this was one of those stories that didn't actually happen on the show, something that could have happened during the times we didn't see. And I liked getting the back story. What the relationship between Derek and Allison's aunt Kate was before. More information about Jackson. And I even like towards the end when Derek's memories gave us a little glimpse into the lives of both Scott and Stiles when big events were occurring in their families.
I have been more careful about what books I give 5 stars to lately. But since I feel this book captures the essence of the tv show so well, like the Buffy books I read by this author, I had to give this a 5 as well. And I really hope there will be more tie-in novelizations, especially done by her!

MY THOUGHTS
LOVED IT
The story starts out with the death of a mountain lion, blamed for mysterious deaths taking place in Beacon Hills, California. Scott knows that the lion is not to blame and there are werewolves among the residents since he has just been turned. He has been hiding this from his crush, Allison, the daughter of the sheriff and there are some secrets that her family is holding that may turn the relationship into a Romeo and Juliette scenario. When Allison and Scott go to meet up with her best friend, Lydia and her boyfriend, Jackson, he doesn't show up. Jackson has been searching for his biological father and this takes him to meet with someone he believes has the information.

There is a bit of a back story detailed about the wolf clans that reside in the area and that Allison's mother has some family secrets of her own, that she is a sworn enemy of the wolves and a Hunter. The true story about her unfolds in flashbacks about Derek, the wolf that is mentoring Scott. So there are a lot of characters to keep straight but there is so much action that all of the parts work together seamlessly. Of course, there are the requisite plot twists and turns to this quick and easy to read book. This is not the fun Michael J. Fox teen angst movie that I remember.

On Fire by Nancy Holder is a captivating continuation of the Teen Wolf series that explores the depths of loyalty, bravery, and trust among the characters we have grown to love. Through the whirlwind of action, suspense, and heartwarming moments, this book takes readers on an intense journey that will leave them breathless and longing for more.

The story picks up immediately from the last episode of season three, where Scott, Stiles, and Allison have just defeated the Nogitsune. However, their victory is short-lived as a new threat arises in the form of a monstrous creature that seems to be targeting the students of Beacon Hills High School. As the pack struggles to uncover the truth behind these attacks, they must also deal with personal demons, old and new, that threaten to tear them apart from the inside.

What makes On Fire such an outstanding novel is its ability to balance an intricate plot with the development of its characters. Each chapter reveals new revelations and layers of complexity to the plot, but at the same time, each character is given ample time to grow and reflect on their own struggles. Holder does a fantastic job of weaving these two elements together, creating a tale that is both exciting and emotionally charged.

One of the highlights of this book is its exploration of Lydia Martin's character. Throughout the series, Lydia has been portrayed as a popular and confident girl, but in On Fire, we see a more vulnerable side to her as she struggles to come to terms with her latent powers. Holder does an excellent job of portraying Lydia's fear and confusion, but also her strength and determination to overcome her struggles. Seeing Lydia's development in this book was undoubtedly one of the things that made it stand out.

The themes of loyalty and trust also play big roles in On Fire, as we see the pack grapple with their relationships with one another. Scott, in particular, finds himself torn between protecting his loved ones and doing what is right. The development of Scott's character in this book is fascinating as Holder shows us the cost of being a true leader. As Scott faces new challenges, we see him grow stronger and more confident in his decisions, even as they grow harder to make.

Another standout moment in On Fire is the reunion of Stiles and Malia. After being separated for several years, the two finally reconnect in the midst of all the chaos. Their relationship is honest and raw, and the chemistry between the two is palpable. Holder does an excellent job of balancing the drama and angst of their reunion with the humor and lightheartedness that is characteristic of the show.

The pacing of On Fire is another strong point. Each chapter is well-structured and keeps readers engaged throughout. The book never feels slow or drawn out, but at the same time, it never feels rushed or incomplete. Holder does an outstanding job of pacing the action and emotional moments carefully, creating a cohesive and satisfying reading experience.

In conclusion, On Fire by Nancy Holder is a fantastic continuation of the Teen Wolf series that captures the essence of the show while also taking it to new heights. The book's themes of loyalty, trust, and leadership, along with its compelling plot and dynamic character development, make it a must-read for fans of the series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Teen Wolf or is looking for an exciting and emotional read.

As seen on Ed and Em's Reviews!

3.5/5 Stars

To be honest, I was more than a little hesitant to try out this novel. I was worried that it would feel forced and fake like published fanfiction. And while it wasn't a masterpiece, it was definitely a book that I'm glad I requested and read. On Fire was fun to read, intriguing and definitely a story that I won't soon forget.

I started into this novel not having watched Teen Wolf. Don't gasp at me! I didn't realize that I was missing it in my life! About halfway through On Fire, I put it down and watch the first few episodes of season one. AND THEN: I was hooked. So basically, it's all Nancy Holder's fault for my latest obsession.

This book was a lot of fun to read. I've never read a book based off of a movie or television series before, but I'm glad I did in this case. This twist of the plot was intriguing and kept my interest until the very end. I loved the characters (and hated some of the characters) as much as I do in the show. Ms. Holder was spot on in her writing. This novel really felt like it could be an alternate reality. Plus, the setup and execution of this novel were done wonderfully. All of the information you need to understand what occurred before the story took place and about the characters is expertly woven into the story. It doesn't feel forced or like a summary at all. That was one that I was really happy about. I didn't feel like I was eating information. As the story progressed, so did my knowledge about the characters and the past.

Things this book made me realize:
*I will always hate Kate. I wish she would die a thousand painful deaths.
*I still don't like Allison.
*Stiles is the greatest character ever.
*Derek and Stiles need to get together. They are seriously MFEO (Meant For Each Other).
*Kate sucks.

So if you are a fan of Teen Wolf, or even if you are just curious about the show, you should give this book a try. A lot of people will enjoy this. I know I did! I can't wait to see what Ms. Holder comes up with next. A DEREK/STILES/STEREK BOOK?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I really didn’t like this book. Mainly because I know that if I didn’t watch the show, I would’ve been completely lost. (It takes place between the first and second season, but mainly the first.)
The author makes references to things in the book…that don’t happen, they happened before the book, so each time they’re mentioned you think to yourself “Is this part of a series? Did I pick up a sequel?”. Nope. She was referencing something in the show, that you may have watched already.
The main plot has to do with Jackson Whittmore, and I really didn’t like it at all. It was written as the main plot, with all the characters trying to work out Jackson’s conflict, but near the end of the book if kinda shifted to a sub-plot.

The one thing that I did like about the book is the flashbacks that they have. They didn’t really get into some of the back story during the show, so that was something new that I really liked. I even had some ‘feels’ periodically through those sections.

Bottom line: if you haven’t watched Teen Wolf, or don’t plan on watching Teen Wolf, don’t buy or read this book.

This book was a bit of an odd duck for me. But then, so is the TV show, so why was I surprised? I started watching the show hoping that it would be witty and clever like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Alas, the most Whedon-esque character is Stiles (best part of the show). Still, good enough to keep me watching. So then I thought I'd give the book a try.
It's a young adult novel. I get that. But it seemed really dumbed down, as if the author wanted to attract even younger people to jump into the world of Scott, Allison, Stiles, etc. Surely American teens aren't this simple! There's a lot of kissing to be found, and a lot of yelling, "Scott! Scott!" or "Allison! Allison!" And, despite the fact that it's not a long book, it seemed very, very padded.
This all sounds like I didn't enjoy the book, but I did. I just wished for more. Hopefully if there are other books in the series, they won't be written on a fifth grade level.

The book On Fire: A Teen Wolf Novel, is based off the Mtv series Teen Wolf. A high school student Scott McCall goes to Beaconhill High School. A series of murders have been going on in Beacon and the police have said it was because of Mountain Lions. Scott knew it is more to it than they say. He goes on a journey to see what's been going on and gets bit. A new girl comes the school the next day and Scott is very attracted to her. Scott starts to go through changes from the bite and Allison, the new girl, is trying to figure out what is wrong with Scott. Scott eventually finds out that he is a werewolf after some research. He would turn into one when Scott is with Allison.

I love this book, but I love the show more. I think the book has more detail but the show has amazing graphics. I prefer this book for anyone who likes sci-fi or suspense, but if they want to see a real show then they should watch Teen Wolf. This book is based off of Season 1. Season 3 start on June 3, 2013.

What was that...? Again, what was that? I picked up this book because I missed Teen Wolf and I was also very annoyed with the way 3B ended, but this was totally not what I wanted. The entire action happens in one day, which makes it very implausible because every character has to face something, like a thief or a gun pointed at their neck or an alpha or a forest fire... C'mon now. It didn't click to me and then I was interested in Derek and Kate's story, but as it progressed I felt a little unsure about this. I don't know about this book, nope.

My teen book club was able to Skype with Nancy Holder and she was AMAZING! The book was so great and appeals to many teens. LOVED IT! Highly recommended for fans of Teen Wolf and/or Nancy Holder!

Wow, what a bunch of bullshit.

The whole preamble of this book is that Jackson gets abducted and everyone is out there looking for him, but in the end it's completely disconnected to what's going on. Or maybe not, because this book has no purpose other than to give an insight into the relationship between Derek and Kate, and I have idea what even was going on. It's given us literally nothing.

I could have easily passed on the flashbacks to an abusive relationship. Scott, who is the main character of this whole damn show, spent the entire book attached to Allison's lips, even when he knew there's more pressing things at hand - namely, searching for Jackson like they were supposed to do. There's no explanation for what Jackson's abduction has truly been about, which is just superb.

The only people who have actually done something productive were Lydia, Stiles and Derek, though they all had different motivations. The latter two were only put together so the Sterek shippers would buy this book, I assume.

All in all, this was a pointless book from start to finish. There's no development whatsoever and the plot makes no damn sense. The only thing it could offer you would be a look into what Derek was like as a teenager, but the flashbacks actually include so little of what his normal life before the Fire had been like that you really didn't need to go through 250 pages to imagine it.

3.5 stars

As media tie-in novels go this was pretty decent; no one was OOC and the plot felt like it could have easily been an episode of the show. Also, love that Derek met/saw young Scott and Stiles years earlier! (and,Danny did more in this than he ever did in the entire show lol)

This books is... just not it.
It starts out of the blue, directly into the action with no background. The characters are season 1 characters with season 2/3 behaviour... The action and plot is all over the place and you can't place it in a time in the action of the show because it's just so... messy!
Those two stars are only for Derek's POV which is better than the show ever gave us, to be honest. So that kinda saves the book and if you are a Derek fan you might like that part. But other than that...
Mediocre.

Read in one night mostly because teen wolf is my current rebooted hyperfixation and it was really short. It wasn’t great but yanno a flashback stiles and Scott made up for it a little bit even if they were sad.

Excellent novel that fills in some of the details hinted at in the series. If you appreciated Nancy's Buffyverse novels, you'll love this dip into the world of Teen Wolf. Highly recommended
