This introduction to process-oriented meditation is a fresh approach to the new body of philosophy and technique that unites the foundations of Western psychotherapy and Eastern meditative traditions in a single holistic system.
After reading this book I thought WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE? But then I realized that this book makes so much sense to me because it helped to synthesize and make sense of years spent studying and practicing various healing methods. An excellent read for people interested in meditation, dream therapy, mind-body healing and experienced practitioners who may be too caught up in the Western way of healing and want to broaden their understanding.
This book taught me about process-oriented meditation, philosophy and therapy. It was difficult to wrap my head around because the concepts are abstract but I believe I understood it in the end. Mediation is still a seed in my mind. It's not something I have fully embraced yet though one day I hope to use it more. I think more use of analogies and examples would have helped my understanding of the concepts he was explaining.
This book is information dense I started listening to the audiobook but soon decided I needed the kindle version to go along as this is a book you can reference. Personally this book brought so much to me, with understanding how my body interacts in this energetic world and how you can connect and understand your own experiences though meditation.
A year ago this book would not have made any sense and I would have been so blinded by the every day busy mind that I wouldn't have been able to note the meta communicator in me.
Honestly this book is stunning - but I know it takes some time for those who are not yet ready to see this to feel the change they can make within but stilling themselves and observing.
Favourite Quote - Process is information which comes to you in special ways or channels such as seeing, hearing, moving, feeling, relationships, and the world”
May this book bring you clarity when it finds you on your journey to self.

This is my second attempt to read something of Mindell's Processing to have a better understanding of Aminah Raheem's Process Acupressure. So far this book is more on the mark.
This book is on the mark. I can see the various modalities in which I trained fitting into the Process framework.
It was my first book considering process oriented psychology. It grabbed me... actually I couldn't stop reading until the last page. I recommend this one for beginners of practicing the art of consciousness.
The author applies a process perspective to meditation, explaining how different meditation techniques work and how to achieve meditation by switching techniques. I found it to be a useful book, especially as he demonstrates it through his own practice. He shows how to switch to different meditation modalities and also shows how to strip the technique of cultural context. One downside of this is that he is stripping away certain contextual information that might be useful for the meditation practice. Nonetheless the author does a good job of exploring how meditation works and what can be done to more effectively meditate.
In this tiniest of textbooks, I found a bridge between meditation and writing. This meditative vignette, rather than forming a pre-defined path through the woods, was more a suggestive gesture toward the thickest parts of the forest. I don't like a hand-holding how-to, and free from the constraints of such a downer, this gave me the odd feeling of being told things that I was already thinking but unable to put into words. The concepts so fascinated me that I will be returning to this material frequently.
This book is contains methods/exercises that can pull vague disturbances/goings-on in your consciousness into full view of your awareness, by using the imagination to make it understandable in a more direct, sensory way. In other words, using visualization, making it "bigger," reaching out and touching it, etc, as well as being open to viewing the context differently.
