Reads R to L (Japanese Style), for audiences T+.

It looks like Mizuki’s cover might be blown when she finds out she’s going to have to compete…in a cross-dressing match. She’s going to have to be a boy pretending to be a girl—but that might give away that she’s already a girl pretending to be a boy. I liked this three volumes in one book but if they had been separated out into three separate volumes the rating would have been lowered for sure. There were a lot of flashbacks which I generally don't mind but I felt like the flashbacks could be taken out and the story would still make sense. To me they were almost just fillers to lengthen the book.

I love Nakatsu!

Why does it always have to be the quiet, brooding guy, and not the funny and sweet and loud-in-a-nice-way guy? 😅

Hana-Kimi: For You in Full Blossom, Vol. 4
Chapters 17 - 20: I am really enjoying the school festival story so far and thought that the scenes with Sano, Nakatsu, & Ashiya (as well as some other classmates) all dressed as girls for their class café were fun. I look forward to reading more about their school festival.

Bonus Story "The Thirsty Moon" (🌟🌟🌟): This story was not very fun and had a more serious and at times sad tone to it but it was interesting.

Hana-Kimi: For You in Full Blossom, Vol. 5
Chapters 21 - 25: This volume concludes the school festival storyline and also introduces a new character that is a reporter who is obsessed with Sano and has come back around after hearing he has started jumping again. I feel bad for Nakatsu and how confused he is about his feelings. I look forward to reading the next volume and seeing what happens next.

Bonus: You and Me and the May Garden
This was a cute little bonus chapter that has Mizuki get a postcard from one of her friends in America and we get to see how her and her friend Gilbert met. It was a really fun chapter.

Hana-Kimi: For You in Full Blossom, Vol. 6
Contains Chapters 26 - 30: In this volume Karasuma continues to bother Mizuki until a combination of threats from Umeda and Sano get her to back off. Mizuki and Sano are continuing to grow closer and now Nakatsu has accepted his feelings so it will be interesting to see how that will change things in the future. Then near the end of the volume Mizuki's friend Julia visits from America and she is now stirring up trouble.

Bonus Story: Lover's Name
This bonus story is mostly flashback about Minami and his relationship with his ex-girlfriend. It was an interesting story and ends with him accepting that they were both young and have moved on with their lives.

This is my first time trying the 3-in-1 Volume. I really enjoyed the fact that I had more than one volume in a single book. I'm borrowing then from the library so it makes it much easier for me to bring back rather than having them each separately. However, I feel like I really like the single volume covers soooo much more. I feel if i were to buy the series, (something i am considering) that I would go with each individual volume.

The high school festival was a big chunk of both 4 and 5. It was certainly entertaining and I feel like I got to know some of the background characters better. My favorite was the pageant! I love how the classmates pulled together to get Mizuki to participate since she's 'one of the cute boys'.

I really enjoyed this volume combo mainly because it shows how Sano, Mizuki and Nakatsu battle with their feelings. Sano and Mizuki are constantly battling with themselves all because of Mizuki's secret. Mizuki kind if irritates me sometimes because its hard to believe that she doesn't pick up Sano's cues and comments. But hey, then the story would be over right?

NAKATSU THOUGH! He by far is my favorite character and his struggle is not only funny, but it just strikes such an emotional chord. He finally gets asked out by a girl, something that he's been wanting for a while, and he can't even go along with it because his feelings for Mizuki are so strong. I just makes me want to cry for him. Once he decided that he only had eyes for Mizuki, broke up with his girlfriend and then went on to come out with his feelings for Mizuki, that just made this volume my favorite. I am rooting so much for him. 😂 I'm so excited to see what exactly he does throughout the rest of the series, especially in the next volume with his sudden jealousy of Julia!

Ohhh the school festival arc was TOO LONG. I was glad when it was over.. but I was glad to see how close Sano and Mizuki have become. So touchy.. just want one of them to scream their feelings out loud lol.
Of course, Nakatsu becomes impulsive and now he doesn’t care if he’s “gay” haha! They sure do love the word “homo” in this story…
And at the end, Julia is here. We need an American woman to shake shit up. Maybe she will make progress happen for our main couple!!! LOL

I totally have second lead syndrome here. I have to remind myself this is messy 90s shoujo where sexual assault and inappropriate age differences are so rampant in manga. For some reason we added even more characters this series. It feels just okay… I have one more checked out from the library and if my feelings don’t change I might give up.

Nakatsu doesn’t care anymore, he just wanna confess and let his feelings all out already. Whether everybody thinks he’s gay or not, but ofc he’s straight, it’s just that Mizuki can’t hide all her feminist. And, as for Sano. He’s too cute, for all of these.

It’s really easy to read these and they’re really engaging. I’m more impressed by the bonus story we get in these 3-in-1’s. They’re a bit weird because they’re all incest but they’re very emotional. You get a bitter-sweet feeling for sure aha

This manga series is sort of a guilty pleasure of mine every since I watched the live action drama. So many dicey scenarios! 😅

I feel like these three volumes were a lot slower when compared to the first three volumes. I found myself feeling a bit bored at times and I ended up skimming through it quite a bit.

Mizuki disguises herself as a boy in order to enrol in an all-boys boarding school. Why? To help inspire her idol, Sano, to high jump again.

So this volume (three volumes?) diverges much more from the drama, and I'm really glad with the direction it's taking. I'm really interested to see where the story goes next, particularly with the cliffhanger at the end!

The first volume in this collection deals with the school festival. It seemed to be a bit more of a filler volume, though there is some interesting character development. The next two volumes (whilst also dealing with the conclusion to the school festival) seem to focus much more on Nakatsu and his feelings for Mizuki, which I loved. It's really interesting to read a character in a manga struggling with his sexuality, even though we as the audience knows that Mizuki is really a girl. I feel like it must have been somewhat groundbreaking at the time the manga was written in the mid-1990s (though that's pure speculation).

The characters continued to grow and develop in this one, and I liked the fact we got a bit more insight into Minami (he's a much bigger character in the drama, but I still really like him). We also got to see more of Julia, but my opinion on her is divided at the moment. I continue to like Sano more and more, and I can't wait until he reveals he knew Mizuki was a girl all along (though that'll probably happen in the last volume or near the last volume... but it's got to happen). He is a really sweet character, though I feel there is still a lot of mystery to him. I'm intrigued to know more (and I'm sure we'll learn more in Hokkaido). I think my favourite character might be Umeda though. I'm not sure why. I think it's the fact he's faintly inappropriate.

There are two short stories in this collection as well. The first, 'Thirsty Moon', is not related to Hana-Kimi but is an entirely separate story. It's about a girl who doesn't really want to marry her fiancé and who meets a mysterious boy. It's interesting, but the ending is a little abrupt for my liking. Like the story in the first collection, I feel that it would have done much better if it had been a series/volume on its own. The second story is about Minami, and his past love, Kanako. As I said above, I really enjoyed the insight into Minami's character. It kind of makes you understand why he is the way he is. I enjoyed seeing him with shorter hair!

The art style is also developing, and there are some really beautiful panels in this one. I love how Hisaya Nakajo draws hair as well. It just looks so fluffy! :D

I'm loving these 3-in-1 volumes even more now. A single volume of manga doesn't really take that long to read, so, for some reason, the fact it takes longer to read this one book (even though it's three volumes) really makes me feel like I'm getting my money's worth. And they take up less space.

All in all, I'm still really enjoying this series and I'm looking forward to continuing on with it. :)

Still very hilarious and I am hooked. I really enjoy this series very much. I cannot believe it was made in 96-97. I really enjoyed the "Whispered Secrets" section with the author. She let's you into her world, her interests and special tidbits on the characters. I have to admit I love the school Dr. Umeda. He's just sarcastically hilarious and doesn't feel bad about it.
This volume took on a love triangle which only adds discomfort for Mizuki! This series is still awesome and I cannot wait to read the next one.
BTW: The three in volumes of this manga are genius. Not only are they less expensive for the buyer but they save room in your book or manga collection and you get to read three books worth. I hope Viz Manga makes more of these with other manga!

4.5/5 stars.
I've had this book on my shelves for such a long time! I'm really glad I read it. This series is adorable and hilarious, the main character always makes me laugh.
Basically it's about a girl named Mizuki, who transfers to an all boys school. The reason she goes there is so she can support her favourite high jumper, so she's gotta disguise herself as a boy and chaos ensues.
It's heart warming and makes me laugh, I really like this series.
