Rei Tōma (Japanese: 藤間 麗,Tōma Rei) has been drawing since childhood, but she only began drawing manga because of her graduation project in design school. When she drew a short-story manga, "Help me dentist" (ヘルプ me デンティスト), it attracted a publisher's attention and she made her debut right away. Her magnificent art style became popular, and after she debuted as a manga artist, she became known as an illustrator for novels and video game character designs.
Dawn of the Arcana is her first long-running manga series, and it has been a hit in Japan, selling over a million copies.
The pacing of this one wasn’t as strong as the previous volume but we’re still exposed to a lot of political intrigue as well as new alliances being formed. I’m loving the bond that Caesar and Nakaba continue to build. Unfortunately, it is clear that Loki also has feelings for her. I want to trust him as a character but I don’t like that he’s hiding something important form Nakaba. I feel like that revelation will shake the series up completely. Excited to dive into volume 8!
I don’t think this volume was as interesting as the previous one and I don’t believe that much happened really but the artwork continues to be stunning and I am so invested in the characters that I can overlook a less action-packed instalment.
This series is starting to lean more on political intrigue than action and idk if I'm vibing with it. I'll probably finish it out though bc im over half way
AHHHH!!! finally!!! i've already read it online but the print edition is something else you know. So after Prince Cain was killed (Caesar's bro), they head to Senan, using their honeymoon as a way to hide from Belquat. In Senan, at the castle, Nakaba doesn't know her way around since she was never allowed to show her face to the people there & she's embarrassed because Caesar now knew too but OMGGG THEY"RE SO PERFECT!!! And they meet with the King who they find out has trapped Rito's mother in Nakaba's old tower & he'll let her go if they go to Lithuanel and make allies of them with Senan. They agree & head there, to meet Prince Akhil, one of their friends. Akhil greets them & is willing to help them if they help him in turn by helping his brother by finding a band of snake thieves so that his brother will be the next King of Lithuanel so they'll have an alliance for sure. Loki has secrets he's not telling Nakaba & she tries to use the ARcana of time, her power to find out & Loki's hurt by that. There, in Lithuanel, Nakaba sees the next attack in this little town & they head there & surely, the band of snake ajin come there & attack & it stops there, Nakaba, Caesar, Akhil, Loki & Lemiria in the middle of it. And the Arcana High story continuation is when Caesar's at the nurses' office - nurse is Bellinus & Nakaba comes in needing a band-aid for her finger & he gets one for her all nervous & everything & Lemiria interrupts her & NAkaba makes an extra lunch for Caesar the next day but Loki warns her that Caesar's father is responsible for her parents death & she wakes up, not knowing if it's real or if it was the arcana I love the ARcana High it's hilarious :D can't wait for more!!!

I wasn't sure about this series at first, but I liked the art and characters so continued past the first two volume trial run and I'm glad I did. This is definitely becoming one of the mangas I most look forward to when I bring in a haul from the library.
They are back in Senan and of course Nakaba has to face more hardship. But it's just so dang good. I can't wait to see what kind of person she becomes.
The art is slowly getting better in terms of pages having backgrounds. There is still a lot of white space where there could be detail. The story picks up greatly in this volume.
The gang is in Senan, the home country of Nakaba. Although it doesn't hold any happy memories and she's super embarrassed for Caesar to see it and experience her shame. She also discovers that Loki is hiding secrets from her and it's revealed the use of the Arkana is slowly killing her. And they are sent on a mission from the King and are reunited with their friend Prince Akhil! Who also sets them on a mission to assure his brother is crowned King. The story is getting deeper! We're halfway through though and Caesar still doesn't know of Nakaba's Arcana. I'm loving the twists and the exploration of a new land and new, gorgeous characters.
So much better than the last volume!! We actually made some interesting developments in the story, and we got some more moments of Nakaba using her Arcana, which I just love to see (magic is just a favorite thing of mine). I like the new country, with the very different environments, the palace actually reminded me a touch of the one in Aladdin, with the almost dome rooftops (not sure of the proper name of it). The clothing is fun too, I just hope Nakaba will be pushed to change up her look a bit, getting some new duds, because I just love manga that portrays a lot of fun fashion.
I bet the next one will be even more entertaining!
Gah why did she ever have to be born there? Her grandfather is such a jerk. He loved his daughter so much and he wanted her to have kids to rule the kingdom but he doesn't love Nakaba. You would think that since he loved his daughter so much, he'd love his daughters daughter, but he doesn't. He's a horrible person.
And than he says
Caeser's jealousy is hilarious!!! I just love it, it's so cute :).
Nakaba is back in her homeland and they still treat her so horribly. Nakaba's arcana shows her something about Loki. And Akhil is back in this volume as requested by Nakaba's grandfather to visit him in his land.
Nakaba finds out from Loki that using her power could kill her. I feel bad for her.
I like that the relationship of the characters is getting to be more relaxed and natural and that the political intrigue is picking up. I wish they'd do more with the Ajin world, and explaining the history of the relationship between the humans and the Ajin.
Nothing really NEW happening... but we are definitely building the alliances, politics, and relationships. This could have been combined with the last installment but then maybe Caesar would not have been able to shine so much!
I really enjoyed the plot building in this one. It was really good, but seemed to be lacking in a certain character despite him actually being there the entire time.
