The ultimate in YA showing shy Luke crushing hard on star quarterback Cameron. There’s definitely some tender feels, some twisty emotions in coming out, and the wonderful amazement when said feelings are surprisingly reciprocated.

Definitely a sweet setup with two more shorts to go in seeing how this new relationship plays out!

Well, wasn't that just the sweetest thing!?!

This story was super short, but super damn adorable.

Love Is In The Title follows the initial coming together of two high school seniors, Luke and Cameron. Both boys are from vastly different social circles, with Cameron being the quintessential football jock, and Luke being the tall, lanky, brainy guy, who spends his Friday nights ringing in anonymous song requests to his local radio station in dedication of the boy of his dreams (a.k.a. Cam).

This was just a taste of Luke and Cameron's potential and it put a smile on my dial. I won't be dilly dallying in my efforts to read the next short in this little YA series.

Luke has been pining from afar for Cam, the straight football captain, secretly requesting songs on the radio on Friday nights sending messages to Cam. Imagine his surprise when Cam actually talks to him and reveals his secret too.

Oh wasn't this just the sweetest and most precious thing. Just freaking adorable! On to the next one...

"I used to catch you looking at me sometimes. With this whole big-eyed look of confusion on your face. It was cute."
"You don’t get it, Luke." Cameron hesitated. He entwined his fingers with Luke’s and laughed low and soft. "I only saw you looking at me ‘cause I was watching you back."

Awwwwwwwww ....this was one sweet, sweet short story...and I loved it. Just what I needed.

Yes, it's super cheesy.
Yes, it's super predictable.
Yes, it's borderline ridiculous.

But, it was so endearing. Luke and Cameron, math geek and football captain...and their first chance at falling in love.

24 pages of a huge smile plastered on my face.

Perfect timing.

This sweet little sip of a story was a magical snapshot of young love at its best. Love Is In The Title, features Luke (science nerd) who longs to be with Cameron (football quarterback) but always from afar...secretly sending him messages of support and love through his song requests on a local radio show each friday night. One night Cam reveals that he too has been watching Luke...from afar.

Yes, it was a simple story. Yes it was undeniably so sweet that it could make your teeth ache. No sex, one kiss, endless fanciful dreaming with a smidge of real life caution thrown in--this was not an epic read...nor do I think RJ Scott meant for it to be---no. I believe that with this oh so short glimpse at a coming of age tale, the author was saying to us readers, "wouldn't it be wonderful if this is how young love always played out...wouldn't it be wonderful if the good guys always won? Well, yes Ms. Scott it would.

So, sit back and enjoy a sweet little interlude...and think on this...sometimes dreams do come true. And sometimes enjoyable reads come in small packages.

What a great story! I loved the characters, the setting, the simple storyline, which left all the complications to the main character's changing perceptions and growing realization. It is a gentle love story about Luke's first crush as much as it describes his growing up and learning to see himself and the world in a different light.

Luke is a typical teenager in many ways, yet there is one big difference: he is gay. He deals with the bullying and the exclusion better than many adults would be able to in his situation. It is that inner strength which helps him not only survive but quietly enjoy life. Except for the fact that he has a crush on a totally unattainable boy.

Cameron is the football quarterback, popular and strong, and when he confesses to Luke that he is gay and interested in a relationship, damn the consequences, Luke worries about him. After all, Luke knows what it is like to be shunned and excluded. They will have to find their way through the emotional chaos together, because Cam is even more determined than Luke to make their new relationship work.

This is a well-written story about first love, coming out, and defining a new way of relating to another boy. Each of the two partners has a unique contribution to make, and each learns a lot from the other. If you like stories about first love, if you enjoy hesitant, sweet looks and conversations that explore where each partner wants to go, and if you like your stories with lots of emotion, you will love this one as much as I did.

Luke has been sending songs anonymously via "The Late Show With Roscoe", hoping that the object of his affecion, Cameron, will notice somewhow. Then it's the night when he requests "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, and Cameron comes to him and strikes conversation ... and oh, could it be his dream might come true after all?

Raise your hand, if you think that "Don't Stop Believin'" is getting second ressurection due to Glee!! *lol*. Sorry, need to get it out for a moment. I think this story is pretty sweet. It has that innocence and hopefullness of young love. Of the geek type who thinks that the jock might never recognize him but realize that his dream might not be so unreachable after all. That the jock might suffer from insecurities just like him. I love Luke and Cameron's conversation and how they connect with one another.

I really wish that they will still be together in college, and get their own version of HEA :). Young love is beautiful and well, dream that it will last is even more beautiful, isn't it?

I'm hesitant to review because I simply don't read YA. It rarely satisfies me. I think the fact RJ presented this book exactly as what it is, a light quick love story and did not build expectations for something deeper helped me to react contrary to my usual reaction and truly enjoy this one.

I had fun reading it and I felt happier when I was done. The characters worked well together and were very engaging. I'll be reading more of RJ's YA line. Who knows maybe I'll change my mind about YA completely (No breath holding Twilight's ED and Co put me off this genre for about the next century).

I'd love to see another short story about these two, particularly when they

Thanks for a read that made my afternoon a happier place RJ! I knew I could trust you ;)

This really short teen story was very sweet. It was about a boy named Luke who was kind of a geek, and for the longest time he'd been crushing on the captain of the football team, Cameron. He didn't have the courage to approach Cameron so he called in dedication requests for love songs to the local radio station. He'd make the dedications anonymously. Luke worked at a little diner, and Cameron would sometimes come in with his teammates. One night Cameron stayed over to chat with Luke, and he confessed to Luke that he was gay.

This story is definitely not plot-driven. It's so short that it doesn't have much plot. It's 100% about the feelings and interactions of the characters. Luke is absolutely adorable and I can pretty much guarantee you that in 24 short pages you're likely to find yourself in love with Cameron too. They're a great couple, and I hope we see more of them in this series.

This was such an adorable story that left me with a goofy grin on my face. It's a quick, fun read that will have you smiling by how cute these two MCs are. I just loved both Luke and Cameron and their shyness and hesitancy. I really enjoyed Luke's secret crush and the way he'd request songs for Cam. It was just too cute.

My only fault with this, it was too short! I wanted more, of them and of the story, and I'm thankful there's a sequel. Definitely recommended

I'm a sucker for the typical jock falls in love with the nerd and me and you against the world story fused into one. Aah high school... it has always been survival of the fittest. Where food chains and statuses were established generations back but still proved to be existing and important up to this day. Primitive. The road to self-discovery. Hormonal Teens. The perfect setting for the best coming of age books. You just can't get enough of them.

I saw this cover , and it seemed to pull me in , the innocent look of love is what I would call it. Luke is a nerd who pines for the jock , cameron , the captain of the football team. Every friday night he requests a song on the radio anonymously to *someone special*. A simple love story yes, but thats the thing it is simple plain old fashioned love. Nothing complicated nothing overly taxing. This story was in my eyes what love is about finding out whats its like to put your heart out there and see if showing the vunerable side is worth the risk.If your out for a story that will remind you of what its like to be eighteen again and feeling the sweetness of love for the first time do yourself a favour and read it , rediscover the beauty of what love is really like.

This was a great read, loved that you have a YA m/m short story and I really like the fact that it shows truly what some of the problems gay males/females face today. I want to read more and make sure they are okay and then I want to read about them off in college having the best time of their lifes.

It’s the short, sweet beginning of Luke and Cameron. Luke is a high school student who works at the diner. He is a “geek” and a big music fan. He is also crushing on the captain of the football team, Cameron. Cameron comes into the diner, usually with the rest of the team. Unfortunately, the team has been in a major slump, losing games. Unbeknownst to Cameron, Luke has been dedicating songs to him on the late night radio show.

The story has amazing supporting characters. Cameron’s friend Dan is the kind we all should have. Luke’s long time friend Mitchell is more of a pain (as when he tells Luke he has decided he’s bisexual and his boy-crush is Cameron. “At that point, Luke had cut Mitchell out of his life, utterly and completely, forever. Until the next evening…” That so summed up high school for me, because everything is black or white, so little gray at that age.

Cameron is good, almost too good to be believed. He is what Luke wants, what Luke deserves. There are so many complete jerks in high school, it’s nice to see some sweetness.

"I only saw you looking at me , 'cause I was watching you back"

Oh God. The feeling. It's overflowing. I couldn't stop myself from smiling like an idiot from the very start till the end of story. I had so much fun with the characters. They were adorable. And cute. Especially every time Luke feels awkward talking to the boy of his fantacies, Cameron. And I was like: for God's sake, Luke! You can do it! This sweet cute couple surely made my day. And the part where they were talking alone in the park and had their kisses. I was already fainting. What really made me liking this whole thing is that music put them together. I really listening to music aside from reading books. Just like what Luke said, he used music to block out the shit that sometimes got thrown his way. He nailed it. Seriously, I did really enjoy this a lot.

This was a really short but sweet story about two teens. Luke is gay and pines after the captain of the football team, Cameron, who is not gay. Or is he? Luke sends song requests to the radio station each week with songs themed to fit what is happening around his crush. And Cameron starts to notice.

I really liked Luke's voice in the story. It seemed authentic, and it was humorous. Especially amusing was rants against his friend, Mitchell, and how he would try to get back at him for keeping an important secret... well... a secret.

I would love to see more of Luke and Cameron and watch as their relationship progresses. There is not enough GLBT young adult literature out there, and short stories such as this one are desperately needed.

This is a sweet nerd/jock YA story. Luke (the nerd in the story) has been calling a radio station each Friday night to anonymously dedicate specific songs to Cameron, who is the captain of the high school football team. Each song has significance to something going on in Cameron's life at that particular time. After a particular bad loss on the field, Cameron comes into the diner where Luke works and they eventually start up a conversation.

The story is sweet and I liked both of the main characters. It's extremely short but not so short where I didn't get feel for the characters and where the author is going with the others in the series. I look forward to reading the next one.

A quick, sweet read about two high school seniors, a self-described math nerd named Luke and the captain of the football team named Cameron. The story called to mind one of those fun, adolescently-awkward episodes of Glee--including the playlist of songs that Luke secretly dedicates to Cameron on a late-night radio show. The brief read leaves you wanting more.

This was such a sweet short story of a crush turned into a first date. I remember the days when I felt exactly like this, when I wanted to melt through the floor before I could actually talk to the guy I liked. It's the perfect tone for a YA story, and the last line was awesome. =)
