A great romance with just enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat and not wanting to put it down!

BY FAR, the WORST of the books. #1: Luke is terrible. Like, seriously. The scene on the mountain was crossing the line. There was no justification for scaring someone in that manner. #2: Valeria was boring. I'm still trying to figure out how they are compatible. #3: The age gap in this one is too large (34, 17--He could be her father!) for me to ignore, given how terrible the MMC is. #4: Where's the romance? Also, I don't believe you can change a cobra into a teddy bear. Luke said he viewed women as interchangeable objects, but you expect me to believe he's ready to change for this 17-year-old princess? TUH!

I did enjoy the plot more than Drew. Zeke and Hawk are always in the background somewhere doing their Negro-Indian-guidance thing. I find that infuriating. Glad I'm done reading this. I wouldn't read it again.

As of now, my rankings are:

1. Pete
2. Sean
3. Jake
4. Buck
5. Chet
6. Ward
7. Drew
8. Luke

This book was literally published before I was born and it shows - but I still had a fun time reading it. What can I say I love a cowboy.

(That once scene on the mountain was a little… questionable?)
