Royal Wisdom: The Most Daft, Cheeky, and Brilliant Quotes from Britain's Royal Family
"I've had lots of kids come up and ask for my autograph, I've had a grandmother stop and ask me if I know a good place to buy underwear." --Prince William "Do you seriously expect me to be the first Prince of Wales in history not to have a mistress?" --Prince Charles "Being a princess isn't all it's cracked up to be." --Princess Diana "I really need a gin and tonic." --Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall They may be royalty, but the first family of Great Britain has made more than their share of gaffes, faux pas, and verbal blunders. In this book, the quips that tabloids kill for are finally collected in one volume. Whether they're covering up a scandal or smoothing a political mishap, you'll find all of their royal wit and witticism--both the good and the bad--in this cunning collection.

Wow, I have just seen the current kindle price of nearly £5! If I had paid that much for it I'd have given it just one star I'd have been that hacked off. I picked this up when it was free as a couple of the quotes mentioned in the synopsis amused me and I've always been a closet Prince Philip fan.
Yes, this book has some fun quotes included, and yes there were some I wasn't familiar with. I hadn't really appreciated how good a (dry) sense of humour Anne and Charles have before either. But, and this is a big but, it is a short book. By the time you have taken out about a quarter of the length for a list of sources and probably the same again for illustrations of various things British and regal you are left with maybe half an hour of reading if you're lucky. Some of the quotes, especially Sarah Ferguson's were quite repetitive and some just weren't very interesting. It also missed some of my fave Prince Philip gaffes, and it really could have done with them.
It gave me a few chuckles and as a free book it was ok, but had I paid more than about the 70p you can pick up a lot of great short stories for I'd have been seriously disappointed.

A free little Kindle book of quotes by the Windsor royals, including Diana and Sarah. Very current, even Kate Middleton is included. The Royals' wit and honesty abounds. At times, I found myself hurting for them and the often difficult life they must lead. Wealth and privilege isn't always everything. Prince Philip appears the most outspoken, surprisingly almost hurtful at times, William and Harry's closeness is very evident. Wish the years the quotes were uttered would have been included. Recommended for any English royalty buff. You'll enjoy it.

Reason to Read_Thought it would be a fun read with the Royal wedding this week
From_Free Kindle Book
There were some really funny quips in it. The section of "shouldn't of really said that", mostly ,all by Phillip. He was so un-PC that it was hilarious. Marty and cracked up over all of his unbelievable blunders. Marty said he was England's Archie Bunker. It is worth reading the book just to read that section. I can just see the Queen cringing every time he opened his mouth.

Fun free book on my nook. The timing was perfect with the royal wedding being just a few days ago. A lot of the quotes had me laughing out loud, especially the ones by Prince Philip as he is pretty clueless about real life and not PC in the slightest.

I can't even imagine what it is like to be a Royal. These quotes are funny overall, though some are really in poor taste, though those are probably taken out of context.

May 11, 2011Amusing/interesting collection of quotes from various English royal family members. Just when you think they 'get it,' they say something that makes them sound like they're from Mars.

The royals got married and the world watched on TV. Meanwhile those of us who enjoyed previous royal weddings found our thoughts moving back in time to shared memories. Kate Petrella’s ebook of Royal Wisdom (and royal gaffes) was a perfect gift to share with my mother, whose memories of royal weddings go much further back than mine. We recalled famous feet firmly planted in famous mouths; delightfully wise and off-beat sayings; comments surprising, hilarious, thought-provoking and sweet. And we enjoyed a happy afternoon together, reading our favorite quotes aloud and supping tea.
If you’re a fan of the British royals, or a delighter in curious sayings and embarrassing blunders, this book’s for you. It’s a great introduction to the Kindle too with pleasing black-and-white graphics, neatly defined chapters, and a pleasing font.
Disclosure: I was lucky enough to get this free on my Kindle just before going to England to visit my Mum.

Short, evidently hastily-put together book - there were not many quotes that I wasn't already familiar with. A vast portion of the quotes were gaffes, rather than funny or interesting fragments. Seemed to perpetuate the popular stereotypes of each of the royals, with very little real insight into who these people really are.
Still, it was free. (Free kindle download from Amazon.)

This was just a very short book full of quotes by British Royalty. Some were amusing, some were surprising, some were a little disturbing. It's a quick read, and mildly amusing. I was able to get a free e-copy in honor of Will and Kate's big fairytale wedding. It's probably a must-read for those obsessed with the British Royal Family, but for me, it was just okay.

Downloaded this as a free book on my Kindle. Apparently it's true that you get what you pay for. If this book of quotes took over 2 days to assemble, I would be very surprised. Pretty much a waste of time. Luckily, it only takes about an hour to read the quotes since there isn't any commentary to tie them together. Oh well, it was free.

This was very boring. I thought it would be funny or interesting but it was litterally a bunch of quotes compiled together. Most of the time it didn't even seem that they were grouped according to the groups she had established. I didn't even highlight one quote because they were all blah.

Royal Wisdom was dreadfully boring and not in the slightest bit witty.
Had I paid money for it I'd be very upset. There are very few quotes and they weren't sorted properly. The last 20% were made up of sources.

This was enjoyable but I'm definitely happy I didn'y buy it ( I read it as an ebook) because there's not much info in there. It was funny at times though and it's a quick happy read if you're interested in royals and the British Royal Family.

Very short, revealing and funny at times. The royals sometimes seem to want to give their opinion on everything but that's probably just the media hounding them. Some outright insults are so outrageous it's hard to believe.

Short, but very entertaining.

Very interesting facts and showed some humor in some comments.

Merely a collection of stories and quotes from and about the Royal family.

Not worth opening the first page...blah, blah, blah. And you can quote me on that.
November 10, 2011
A lightweight, quick little read. A book of quotes from the royal family over the years, separated into various categories.

This is OK for a quick read, only took me about 20 minutes to finish!!

Very funny. I smiled the entire way through. It was a very quick read, though I wish there had been more quotes from Kate Middleton...

A quick and fun read.
