Forgot about that plot twist! So sad. Not sure why he couldn’t have waited for her though… 4, forget who she ends up with hope it’s a HEA, stars.

Rilettura in realtà, e anche se qualcosa ricordavo leggerlo è tutta un'altra cosa. Ne succede una dietro l'altra.
Ovviamente corro immediatamente a leggere il prossimo volume.
Per fortuna che li ho tutti, e anche quando li ho letti la prima volta li ho letti tutti insieme, non so come avrei fatto ad aspettare ogni mese l'uscita.

Mentre il triangolo/quadrilatero va avanti, scoppia lo scandalo.
Infatti la relazione tra Meiko e il professore viene scoperta: lei sarà sospesa mentre lui decide di dimettersi e tornare a casa per lavorare nella ditta di famiglia.
Ginta non si dà pace e continua a fare pressioni su Miki affinché prenda una decisione. Lei è sempre più confusa, divisa tra la gelosia neo confronti di Ginta e la forte attrazione che prova per Yu.
Sul finale fa la sua comparsa un misterioso ragazzo, cosa vorrà da Yu?

Reseña del manga: ''Marmalade Boy'', de Wataru Yoshizumi (manga, relaciones varias, romántico, juvenil...) Serie de 8 tomos. PANETA-DeAGOSTINI COMICS.
Hace media vida, en un momento en que me tomé un tiempo para mí... descubrí en una cadena de televisión que se ha quedado algo atrás, con tanta cadena comercial actual..., una serie de dibujos japoneses que me encantó; aún con sus tintes de telenovela... La llamaron ''La familia crece'', y hasta llegué a imitar la voz de la protagonista, se entiende: la voz de la actriz de doblaje ^^
La veía junto a mi felino...
Tenía un colorido llamativo, una historia desternillante y a la vez adulta, para sus jóvenes personajes, y una melodía preciosa, que se solía reservar para las apariciones de la amiga de la prota.
Resultó que había un manga, por tomos, que compré religiosamente, y disfruté un montón. Se podría decir que de esta manera volví al manga; ya que empecé hace aún más tiempo, de peque (cuando no tenía idea de lo que era un manga...), con los tomos de ''Candy Candy''...
Recuerdo que la autora confesó que la historia iba a ir al revés, y que su editor le aconsejó el cambio...
Una historia que me pareció muy alegre, original, interesante... en esos momentos ya.
Con unos dibujos preciosos que intentaba conseguir en mis ratos de ''dibujanta''... y que; aunque no con el ''romanticismo'' de las autoras más veteranas, entonces, mantenían un encanto singular.
La historia comienza con dos familias que empiezan a vivir juntas, después de que cada pareja de padres se divorcie y se case otra vez: esta vez, cambiando de pareja... ¿A que parece una telenovela?, pues la historia continúa con los hijos de estas parejas... y sus amigos, en la escuela, y de fiesta... pero no olvidemos a los padres, y sus ''secretos''...
Evidentemente tiene que haber amor, y celos, y enredos, y confesiones ¿a tiempo?...
También se toca el tema de las relaciones entre profesores y alumnos, que está muy bien, y en general me parece que en su momento, y más en la cultura japonesa, por lo que se dice de otras culturas..., fue una ''bomba''.
¿Qué creéis que pasará con los hijos de estos 4 padres?, ¿lo sabéis?, ¿visteis la serie, o la leísteis?, ¿cuál fue vuestro personaje..., o pareja favoritos?

Review for complete series
Not only do Miki's parents announce that they are getting a divorce, but also that they will remarry and both new couples are to share a house. Although Miki is dead set against it - her new stepbrother, Yuu, makes her think it might not be so bad after all.
Marmalade Boy is probably the most popular work of Wataru Yoshizumi - and rightly so! It stays true to many of her typical elements while leaving out a lot of things that are weaker in her other works.
The art is adorable - it is much more refined compared to older series. I never liked her style in terms of male characters particularly much, but her girls are all the cuter. I love how her style is so simple and yet charming - I feel as though I can appreciate this style more than I did when I was first introduced to this author.
I love the pacing. It is so rare that a romance manga is neither rushed nor dragged out. And that, in particular, is something I always find to be the case with Yoshizumi's works. There was not a single moment in the series where I felt there was a lack of or too much of anything. This, and the characters, gave the story a very natural flow.
Putting aside the strange starting point of the story where the parents have a partner switch, Marmalade Boy felt unusually realistic for a shoujo manga. The characters' interactions seemed very believable. There were, as typical for Yoshizumi, a lot of rivals for all the romance - but it was always dealt with quite nicely without adding too much drama and characters knowing when it was time to give up.
The romance between the main characters was adorable. The romance developed at a steady pace that kept it interesting enough for the reader and plausible enough for them to eventually get together. The romance between the supporting characters was no different - one could easily relate to why characters liked each other.
Quite untypical for Yoshizumi was the fact that not all characters ended up with partners. Usually, everyone ends up in a pair - but I think the story profits by not following that route. I think that is one of the things that always tend to drag out her stories.
Then, as is usual for Yoshizumi, Miki has a best friend, Meiko. And their friendship is wonderful. They are both very different kinds of characters but always watch out for one another in their own way. I think Miki and Meiko are true friends - Meiko is more than just a supporting character who Miki can confine to. And Meiko has her own life and issues which Miki actively supports her with.
Yuu and Miki are also nice lead characters. Yuu remains a bit of a mystery for about half of the series but he is never too closed up to be your typical untouchable shoujo male lead. Miki is a happy, feminine but strong girl. She speaks her mind, cares for her friends, cries when she is sad but gets up again when she knows she needs to be strong.
Miki and Yuu's story is definitely one of most fun 90's romance that I've read and it is one that is always fun to go through again. It would probably be my first recommendation in regards to Wataru Yoshizumi!

Miki ist entsetzt, ihre Eltern eröffnen ihr, dass sie vorhaben, sich zu trennen und mit einem anderen Ehepaar die Partner zu tauschen! Zudem wollen sie auch noch alle zusammen unter einem Dach wohnen?! Miki ist fest entschlossen, Widerstand zu leisten, bis sie Yuu, ihren neuen Stiefbruder kennen lernt... Vielleicht ist diese etwas aus dem Rahmen fallende Familiensituation ja gar nicht so schlimm?
Die irre Hop-Skip-Comedy: Verwirrspiel mit Exfreundinnen, Nebenbuhlern und Erzrivalen.
Band 2:
Kurzbeschreibung:
Die überraschende Wiederverheiratung ihrer Eltern führt dazu, dass Miki und ihr neuer Stiefbruder Yuu zusammen unter einem Dach leben.
Miki ist ratlos wegen der unerwarteten Liebeserklärung von Ginta, ihrem besten Kumpel. Wie kommt sie da raus...?!
Band 3:

Miki und Yuu werden in den Winterferien ganz alleine sein, doch...?!
Meinung:
“Marmalade Boy“ fiel mir eigentlich ganz zufällig in die Hände und ich beschloss der Serie eine Chance zu geben. Allein schon der Klappentext verspricht eine lustige Geschichte. Und so ist es auch! Miki Koishikawas Eltern lernten auf ihrer letzten Hawaii-Reise ein anderes Ehepaar kennen und lieben. Mein Gott, ich liebe diesen Manga für dieses Grundkonzept! Da fliegen die Eltern, die sich sehr gut verstehen, aber bei denen gefühlsmäßig scheinbar nichts mehr läuft, in den Urlaub und kommen mit neuen Partnern zurück! Klar, dass Miki damit etwas überfordert ist und sich zunächst einmal weigert, die Situation zu akzeptieren. Allerdings lernt sie schnell Yuu Matsuura, ihren neuen Stiefbruder, kennen und egal wie gemein er manchmal zu ihr ist, er hilft ihr immer wieder und muntert sie auf. Miki fängt an sich langsam in Yuu zu verlieben. Leider ist da noch Yuus Ex-Freundin Arimi Suzuki, die ihren Ex-Freund unbedingt wieder zurück haben möchte. Außerdem gesteht Ginta Suo, Mikis bester Freund und Ex-Schwarm, ihr seine Gefühle. Ab jetzt beginnt ein munteres Hin und Her in Sachen Liebe.
Des Weiteren taucht im ersten Band noch Mikis beste Freundin Meiko Akizuki auf, die ihr immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht.
Das große Thema im zweiten Band ist dann auf jeden Fall Tennis. Miki und Ginta spielen zusammen in der Tennis-AG, Yuu nicht, aber er hat früher einmal aktiv gespielt. Als sich Gintas Trainingspartner verletzt, wird Yuu dazu verdonnert, beim Schulfest für ihn einzuspringen. Da Ginta und Yuu beide in Miki verliebt zu sein scheinen, muss Ginta kurzzeitig seine eigentliche Rivalität gegenüber Yuu überwinden.
Da ich nicht zu viel vorweg nehmen will, mache ich es kurz: im dritten Band geht es um die Liebesgeschichte von Mikis bester Freundin Meiko. Ansonsten dreht sich das Liebeskarussell munter weiter.
Da der Manga schon älter als ich ist, höhö, ist natürlich auch der Zeichenstil nicht der aktuellste. Allerdings ist die Story so unglaublich süß und lustig und die Thematik einfach zeitlos. Wer z. B. schon die Reihe „Beast Boyfriend“ gelesen hat, wird auch an dieser Serie seine Freude finden.

Necesito una explicación coherente de como es que dos parejas de padres, dejan solos a sus hijos de 15 años en la casa para irse de luna de miel a Hawaii… Necesito mas responsabilidad de parte de ellos. Si, tanto miki como Yuu son grandecitos, pero siguen siendo adolescentes solos en una casa, sin control, si algo les pasa que hacen?????
Dos cosas, primero, no recordaba lo homofobica que era Miki, o mejor dicho lo homofobico que era todo este manga, segundo, la historia entre Meiko y el maestro me sigue gustando. A pesar que se hayan conocido cuando ella tenia 15 y el 24, no me importa, esta bien que ella sufra un poco pero no el. Espero que el pueda estar bien pronto. Se que a muchos no les gusta esto, porque no esta bien desarrollado, por miles de cosas, pero a mi me agrada como van las cosas porque Nachan no es una mala persona.. Lo que no me gusta es como trataron al personaje nuevo y amigo de Yuu con comentarios fuera de lugar por rumores sin sentido.
Por otro lado, recuerdan que habia una relacion entre protagonistas que debia florecer? bueno… esta un poco parado el asunto por cosas que no comprendo. Me sigue llamando la atencion como me gustaba tanto este manga cuando era chica, la cantidad de cosas que hoy me aburrren o disgustan es impresionante jajaja

This manga did not aged well.
It's an old manga from 1993 so I was expecting some things were dated but... this one did not passed the vibe check.
I can't really explain it without giving spoilers, but just so you know there's a specific scene that is very uncomfortable to read 'cause is not kind towards gay people.
And I know this manga is 28 years old and things were different back then, but I'm complaining because that dialogue was unnecessary.
That's a shame because I was enjoying this manga up to that point, and I'm almost half way through with the story. I hope that maybe this problematic scene might be addressed later and dealt with.
I really hope the next one gets better.

I'll be honest, the relationships felt kinda stagnant this volume. I guess it's because we are just told over and over that Miki likes Yuu, but we aren't necessarily shown their love develop in a more natural and appealing way. And half the time it really feels like Yuu only cares about Miki as a stepsister and friend, not as a love interest. I did like most of the Christmas chapter though, it had a lot of cute and sweet moments.
Meiko and the teacher's storyline didn't do much for me either. It sort of just came and went, and overall didn't feel that impactful to the overarching story. It's probably just because we barely saw anything relating to their romance before this volume (and only a couple chapters at that. It also served to make me like Meiko less, she was a cruel bitch to Miki when she was just trying to be there for her, and her apology wasn't that great either. Hopefully the next volume will pick back up and be better.

I have such wonderful nostalgia for this volume. I read the second one first at camp and then begged my mother for the third. The third volume was the first one I owned and my copy is pretty worn out from the amount of times I read it.
Miki and Yuu's parents and stepparents have decided to go off to Hawaii for their honeymoon, leaving their fifteen-year-olds alone in the house. (Their parents are not exactly the most responsible in the world) So of course there's lots of UST and fun moments as they're by themselves. But the big plot occurs when Meiko and Nachan are found out. Nachan resigns as a teacher and Meiko is...suspended. For some reason. This made sense to me at 12 but nowadays kind of horrifies me that Meiko is being punished because a teacher preyed upon her. As a reminder, she met Nachan when she was fifteen and he was twenty-four. She is seventeen now. It's still gross.
Thankfully, Nachan refuses to let Meiko come with him as he disappears from the series (until volume 7, curse it all) and we have a nice bonding moment between Meiko and Miki. I really really wish the separation between Nachan the Sexual Predator and Meiko was permanent, but as with most Yoshizumi manga, I rarely get the ships I want.

I really really wish the separation between Nachan the Sexual Predator and Meiko was permanent, but as with most Yoshizumi manga, I rarely get the ships I want.

Pues aunque le tengo mucho cariño a este manga (si no lo tuviese, no intentaría leerlo en japonés, o ya lo hubiera abandonado), tiene muchas cosas mal. Miki es una tía sensata, y me cae bien. El resto son muy egoístas. Lo de intentar besar a alguien porque sí... Eso está MAL. Y bueno, de la relación profesor-alumna ni hablemos. Es como todo un dramón terrible, una telenovela muy exagerada... Pero no se puede negar que tiene un buen ritmo y que todas las viñetas son muy expresivas.
También recuerdo que el primer tomo es el que siempre me gustó más de todos, por todo el tema de los padres... Pero luego todo eso queda a un lado para hacer sitio a los amores y desamores de los protagonistas.

Beautiful artwork but it could have done without the teacher-student relationship. What was up with the obsession with student-teacher relationships in shojo manga in the 90s/2000s? The age gap is 8 years. When they met, the female student (meiko) was 15 in junior high while the teacher (nachan) was 23. When Miki tells her parents about Meiko's relationship, the parents were all totally okay with it and one of the moms said that one of her dreams was to be a teacher at an all boys school. That's craaaaaaazy. There's also a part that shows how meiko confesses to nachan and he asks her how old she is and she tells him she's 15, he responds with "I guess I have a lolita complex" That's wiiiild.....

Miki’s love plot takes a backseat in this book. Meiko’s forbidden relationship is expanded upon (and I was uncomfortable by this but I think that was the point). I’m wondering though if the author could’ve put her in a different situation to get to the same goal. She doesn’t like to open up, but the student/teacher thing isn’t the only avenue a story can go down to depict that. It wasn’t awful, it was just a little strange. At the end, a new character is introduced. Overall, I love this series for its slice-of-life-ness, and the art is super cute. It’s not the best love story I’ve read, but I think it’s a must-read for shoujo/old Tokyopop fans.

La relazione tra Meiko e il prof viene allo scoperto, lui la lascia, lascia l'insegnamento e la città.
Yuri conosce il presidente del corpo studentesco.

Tiene muchas cosas cuestionable este tomo, y la historia en general. No es que guarde buen recuerdo del anime porque ya cuando era chico varias cosas me hacían ruido pero ahora hay cada cosa que digo WHAT.
Cuando era chico la relación de meiko y el profesor me gustaba ahora me resulta completamente mal aunque entiendo que no haya pasado nada pero igual... no puedo creer como los padres de Miki fantasean con esa relación.
Sigue siendo una especie de la rosa de Guadalupe versión manga pero sigo queriendo a esta historia.

Going after the secondary characters is what happened in this volume. Several chapters were focused on Meiko and her “abnormal” relationship with their sensei - Natchan. After a very public and shocking revelation, Meiko’s friendship with Miki was highlighted ang how Yuu also made them see how strong their friendship really is. It was just sad how Meiko’s scandalous relationship turned out in the end.

Esse é um volume ok. A parte mais legal foi a do relacionamento da Meiko com o professor. O relacionamento da protagonista mesmo com os dois interesses amorosos é morno mais para frio.
Talvez eu só não goste muito desses shoujos mais clichês. Eles raramente funcionam para mim. Os coadjuvantes acabam sendo muito mais interessantes do que os personagens principais e o foco não fica tempo o suficiente nos personagens que eu gosto para balancear com os que eu não ligo.

Cute! This volume mainly focuses on Miki's best friend, Meiko. I like that because Miki's indecision is annoying! But poor Meiko! And how does Yuu know the new guy introduced at the end? Guess I better read the next one and find out!

Good volume overall. I had the knock it down a couple stars because it tries to make it okay that a man in his twenties is dating his 15-16 year old student. No one in the series can see the issue of them dating and that's messed up.

A new character has joined the manga. A handsome and charming boy who, from the way he is drawn, could also be a girl. Thanks to him, a misunderstanding is created for the students in the whole school, which leads to some very funny gags, especially from Miki of course.

These kids are mostly incredibly emotionally mature, lol. I loved the story, especially Meiko and the teacher, :3
Almost as good as the main story, the liner notes about the manga-ka hanging out with Ai Yazawa are fun to read!

Have already logged vol 1 and 2, but I really enjoyed this manga. I love the love story, except for maybe the last 2 volumes where I thought it became too dramatic for my liking.

I just read it without knowing what it is about but it's entertaining, if i read it when i'm in middle school i would definitely love it and get emotional as i read it. I still have fun reading it.
