The Art of Rozz Williams: From Christian Death to Death

Rate this book
"Rozz was an artistic genius who wasn't afraid to take chances in life through his music and art. He was one of the pioneering artists in the musical sub-genre known as 'Death Rock', and he used that as a springboard to strike out in a multitude of directions: electronic music, spoken word, visual arts, and hard rock. His impact on the musical scene was far-reaching, and his influence can be seen adn heard in the work of many young artists."- Peter Heur

THIS BOOK IS LIKE FINDING A MILLION DOLLARS FOR ANYBODY WHO HAS EVER BEEN AN OBSESSIVE FAN OF THE EARLY CHRISTIAN DEATH. IT EVEN HAS THOSE RARE LYRICS FROM THE EARLY 80'S AND LATE 70'S THAT WERE NOT FEATURED IN THE BOOKLET OF "ONLY THEATRE OF PAIN". IT HAS VERY RARE PHOTOS OF EARLY C.D. AND ROZZ (IN CEMETERIES STEALING CRUCIFIXES) ALL THRU HIS LIFE AND HIS ART, SKETCHES (WHICH RESEMBLE THE COVER OF ONLY THEATRE OF PAIN). ANYBODY WHO WAS SERIOUSLY, OBSESSIVELY INFLUENCED BY THIS ALBUM AND "DEATHWISH (1981)" (YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE) WILL ENJOY THIS VERY VERY MUCH.

"SCRATCH SCRATCH, STRIP ME BEAR, X-RAY SUBSTANCE ON ROTTING PORCHES, I DREAM OF ANGELS AND ROTTING CORPSES" - "WORKING ON BEYOND" - CHRISTIAN DEATH 1981

Great resource especially now that John Collins site appears to be down. And I love seeing his handwriting! Binding is horrible, I suggest you go to a book binder and get a new stitching and partly glueing. Mine is now beautifully clothbound for about 80 bucks.

If you love Rozz, you will cherish this tribute to him. My only complaint is the quality of the binding. Mine fell apart. Maybe I looked at it too much.

Does what it says on the tin, despite the fact that the tin is falling apart. Incredible collection of work and a real joy to flip through, unfortunately these books are bound terribly (the worst I've ever seen) and to avoid the spine disintegrating on contact you need to handle this thing like an ancient relic. Nevertheless, it's an absolutely beautiful book.
