Not many Scorpio’s are known for their patience, and Willow Haywood is no different. Her only desire is to love Landen Chambers and redeem the lost souls of Esterious, but the path to that desire is long, dark and dangerous...
Before Willow’s life had a chance to balance the sudden revelations and grief she had to endure to get to Chara a disturbing discovery is made. A photo, one that shows Willow blissfully embracing the flawless image of Drake Blakeshire; giving her not only proof that she had lived before, but that she had loved him.
Running away from the memory of Drake’s hypnotizing touch, and the prophecy set before her seemed like the logical thing to do. That is, until a dark dream reignites her passion to save the hopeless dimension of Esterious. Willow struggles to find patience – to learn everything she needs to know before she faces Drake again, but her eagerness is dangerous and one step in the wrong direction takes everything and everyone away from her – the only way to survive this trial is for Willow to remember who she is and what she really wants out of this life.
I'm an obsessive daydreamer. Lover of loud alternative music. I love to laugh until it hurts. Fall is my favorite season. Black is my favorite 'shade.' Strong believer in the saying: there is a reason for everything, therefore I search for 'marked moments' every moment of everyday...and I find them. Life is beautiful!
Jamie Magee hits us with Embody – Sequel to Insight Willow and Landen held my heart from Insight – but Drake is slowly digging his way in after finishing Embody. Magee’s world of alternate dimensions and crossing through strings is extraordinarily consuming! Twisting the world on love, zodiac signs, and other worlds is fresh and welcomed! I was anxious to get my hands on Embody after reading Insight. Thankfully a little ARC fairy sent one my way. The emotions Willow deals with in this book, and not just from her ability, but that she has to deal with just to get through are well defined by Magee. As a YA read there is plenty of passion, laid out as our couples find their true love, their soul mate. In Embody, our characters learn to use that bond with their souls to further express their love for each other. Don’t get me wrong – it’s not sappy romance – there a trial that Willow and Landen must endure and that’s if they can stay strong together. Drake is hot on their tails, and finally crosses their paths where they battle with new 'powers' All throughout its strategic planning – who can be one step ahead of the other Magee comments that Image – book 3 – will be out THIS year! For a genuine story with heart and twist, grab this series.
Interest: I loved Insight and was thrilled to read this. Title Thoughts: Once again one word captured the entire book. Cover Thoughts: I really like it and it portrays the book well. I also love how it has some of the symbols that were present on the Insight cover as well. WARNINGS: None.
You know that feeling you get when you find a lost pair of jeans that you loved and discover that they still fit? That's what it felt like to slip back into this series. I loved Insight and was a tad worried that Embody wouldn't live up to its predecessor. I should have know that with Magee, I shouldn't have worried.
I loved how in this book we saw more of Drake's side of things. We see more of why he thinks the way he does. Even though Drake is supposed to be the bad guy in this, I don't see him as that after this book. I have the greatest sympathy for him and hope he finds his true soulmate.
Magee and Embody pick up where Insight left off and I wasn't disappointed. I love this series so much and I can't wait to see what's next. I haven't ever read a book where I loved the setting so much either. Chara is a beautiful place and so peaceful. I love it and can only dream that it could exist.
Addict's Last Words: Embody is a fantastic sequel and will not disappoint.
To Buy or To Borrow: This is a buy for me without a doubt. I love the series and this did not disappoint.

Jamie Magee has proven herself to be an old soul. This book is not only a good read because of its plot, but also because of the trinkets of truth that the reader can apply to reality. Magee has weaved an alternate reality that we can all aspire for. If we all can see how we are interconnected with each other, how our actions can affect other "souls" then maybe we can get rid of wars and conflict. Magee has a way of writing from the heart which in turn can pull at the readers' heartstrings. I can almost feel Willow's conflict as if it were my own. A brilliant read. :D
This was by far the slowest book I have ever read, this was my concern when I saw how long this series was already. To be honest this book is a solid 2 maybe 2.5 stars, I have not yet decided if I will list it as 2 or 3. I have never been so bored reading a book in my life. It just never really picked up, there were maybe three pages of true climax in total and no real build up to them. I understand that at some point you have to have a slower book in a series to give out more solid and lasting information, to build a foundation, and so on, but this was ridiculous. I actually had to put it down and walk away for the night out of pure irritation, and then forced myself to pick it up again the next day. The synopsis made the ordeal that Willow went through seem so dramatic and in reality it just felt flat and dull. I understand that she may have had a bit of a cloud, so to speak, over herself and her memories but the reader didn't need to feel as dull as she was. It could have been climatic, it could have felt real, instead it felt boring and unnecessary. Even the lead into it could have been more dramatic, instead your left with this feeling like you missed something. It is like the author left out a very important paragraph or to here. I cannot for the life of me figure out how anyone could have given this book five stars or even four. As I said in my review of Insight, "Few books and authors can stand the test of time. I have my doubt this one can." So far I feel that that opinion was correct. I will read book 3, the synopsis makes it appear that that book will possibly make up for the lack of action in this one but we will see, then again this book shows proof that the author can write what appears to be a thrilling synopsis for a ridiculously dull book. If it does not pick up I may just have to give up and quit. And again with the spelling, grammar, and even spacing issues! One or two is expected but when it is such a large amount of simple things it just becomes ridiculous. It once again feels like the author typed it up and shot it out before even running a spell check, let alone reading it slowly through or having even a friend do so. It seems like the author doesn't care enough about her product to even attempt to put out something with standard quality. I am by no means an editor or a proof reader and yet I found plenty of mistakes, as you can see in my notes/ progress comments, and this was on my first read and to be honest I skimmed a bit. That is pretty sad. All in all the only thing I can say about this book is that I am highly disappointed, this will be my first 2 star review ever.
A massive thank you to Jamie for letting me review a PDF Arc copy of this book. I was blown away yet again by the story just like I was blown away with Insight.
Embody is the second novel in the Insight Series and takes place just shortly after Book 1 finished. Willow and Landan are enjoying the time together until they are told that Drake is back and that they must prepare for the next trial. With the revelation of this new trial it sees Willow and Landan learning new abilities and teach others aswell.
Willow and Landan are just wonderful to read. They are just this perfect couple that just fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. They are both very strong willed characters and they would do anything to protect each other as well as those they love. And even though I should have been rooting for them I was really drawn to Drake. I think its the bad boy image (yes I'm sucker for a bad boy). Drake has always believed that Willow was his and we find out something suprising about Drake and Willow in the installent. None of these characters are my favourite though. I love little Libby and I love her bound with Preston. They are both so mature for their age and have truely astonishing abilities.
Jamie has yet again created a wonderful and unique story that will take you through all the emotions. This is the genius of a talented story teller. The world that has been create is interesting and I felt like I was there along side with the characters, going through the events at the their side.
This series is going to be massive hit I think and it has something for everyone, love, danger, adventure. I suggest if you haven't read the first book please pick it up now! You will sure to get pulled into this enchanting series and with the ending of each book will leave you begging for more.
I just love this series! I really do it is amazing how the author describes love and how we all have soul mates. It is so beautiful. This series is all about true love and how incredible strong it is. Love concurs all and that is very true in this book. Willow and Landen only gets stronger both as individuals and as soul mates in this book but their love will be tested in more ways than one in this book.
Willow and Landen finds out a lot about their past in this book and what their destiny holds in store for them and Willow has a choice to make. Willow and Landen are both very strong characters but even so they can have insecurities and doubts about their role in the world and with each other.
I´m also starting to see Drake in a new light in this book. In insight he was just the bad guy who you really didn´t like, no matter how good looking he is. But in this book you get to know Drake in a way you didn´t before and I just really like the guy and I feel really sorry for him. He really do believe that he and willow belong with each other. I think he is good deep down be the bad circumstances has made him the way he is. I do hope we will get to know him even better in Image and that he will find love and peace at last.
The Author is really good at capturing the different essences of the different dimensions they visit and I feel like I am right there with them. Usually books is about finding love and that first phase but this is story is about a love that have survied centuries and and how that love might possibly save the world one day?
You should really read this series it is really good.
When I was offered to read this for a review I was excited. I was eager to jump back in to Jamie's world of strings, other demsions, and true love. Just so you know I was not disappointed.
Willow and Landen has just gotten over their first stand off with Drake and are now preparing for another one. While preparing for this next trail Willow and Landen spend more time with the ever loving and adorable Preston and Libby. The two young children teach Willow and Landen a new ability that will make them and all of their friends and family stronger. But learning this ability it also brings more danger and they find out exactly what kind of danger it can bring.
During this new trail that has to do with the orbit of Mercury and communication Willow and Landen bring together a new love. Willow learns a little bit more about her past lives and has to make risky choices that can jeopardize her and Landen's relationship.
While reading this sequeal to Insight I went through a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed, cried, got mad, was shocked and was filled with joy; any emotion you can think of I probably felt. Jamie knows how to pull her readers into the story and make them feel apart of it. From every detail to every emotion you feel like you are standing right in the middle of it. Insight was my number 1 YA book of 2010 and it looks as though Embody will be my number 1 of 2011.
If you haven't read Insight yet then get on it! And if you have then wait till you dive into Embody.
I recieved an early digital ARC copy from the author and squealed in excitement at the time...but we're talking about the second book of the Insight Series, not how much a dork I am, so moving on...
Let me just get my opinion out of the way, because that's what you really care about. I was nervous reading this one because the sequel has to be better, and I knew it would be hard to top Insight. Let's just say I'm not worried anymore about the third book in this series living up to the first two, because this author just has it.
Alright, a brief synopsis..
Willow, who I just love even more now after reading Embody learns more about her past lives and her relationship with Landen is jeopardized in this process. To top it all off with, Willow (my second favorite Scorpio after my father) must face Drake again...which means admitting to herself that in a past life, she did love him.
Sigh, this book is edgy, action packed, full of alternate dimension romance and as such, is a must read.
Ok lets get the bad out of the way, the grammical errors erked me a little bit.
Now on to the good, I love this series just finished book 2 yesterday and I'm starving for book 3, I have to admit I think her and Landon are destined to be together but there's still that passion and lust drake holds that tugs at my heart. Oh to have live like that. Amazing book high hopes for book 3.
If you read the first book Insight you will not be disappointed with the sequel. I literally did not put this book down. In Embody Willow and Landon are again tested by Drake. Embody gives you a deeper look into their past lives and a deeper picture of Drake and who he really is. The suspense of the love triangle is great and the story of Willow and Landon is one heck of a romance.
well Jamie McGee has done it again , she swept me up into her string dimensions. I kinda feel like Dorothy when she enters the world of OZ . Characters evolved , we meet many more ..and eekkk Marc meets his one .
The second book in this series was much better the characters are developing, story line is becoming more exciting. I still recommend as a YA it does not cross the line :) Which is a plus.. I would recommend this to anyone who believes in soul mates etc....
I enjoyed this book as much as Insight. I can't wait to start the 3rd book. I love this story so much. If we could only dare to hope that we could live the way that Willow and her family live. To be able to live in peace and love at all times would be wonderful.
Was not disappointed with book 2. This is another series where I felt as if I had made a whole group of friends and couldn't wait to see what was happening in their lives with each page turn.
This book was written for young adults but the ideas are spiritual and original. This writer has made me love the characters. Also, the concepts can be applied to my life. Amazing!
I continued with the series, I am in love with Willow and Landen. Secrets are revealed and the mystery thickens. In this episode Landen and Willow find that they have new ways to gain strength and to be closer to each other. Drake is still trying to convince Willow she really belongs to him. Willow feels as though she is not worthy enough for Landen but she knows he completes her. As they work together to free others from the clutches of Dontel, Willow loses her way for a moment. Willow finds a young girl and her sister and things take a drastic turn. Libby and Preston greatly help Landen and Libby. Will Willow lose her way completely will she choose Drake because his touch drives her wild? Drake will experience heartache once again and people will die..Great read..editing is still needed but I love this story...
This is one of my favorite series of all time. I never reread books, but this is my second time through this one so that I can read it all together. There are many side p!it's going on that you don't realize are import until later on, so I am trying to make sure that I remember them all. I don't remember noticing the editing issues the first time I read this, but I definitely noticed them this time. It was enough to be distracting, but not enough to make me not want to continue to read.
The book is great; I read it in just two sittings. Unfortunately, the writer needs a new proofreader. The first book had some grammar/punctuation errors but I overlooked them. This book, however, was wrought with errors that made for difficult reading at times. I’m going to pass on book 3 for now. Maybe I’ll come back to the series at a later date.
I get so tired of authors writing about a character that is obviously supposed to be a bad ass, with wicked awesome powers, and super supportive family and friends who inspire love in everyone they meet with this inner monologue of poor pitiful me boo hoo hoo. The gist of this story so far.
