It's two years after the events of Girl, Missing and life is not getting any easier for sixteen-year-old Lauren, as exam pressure and a recent family tragedy take their toll. Lauren's birth mother takes Lauren and her two sisters on holiday in the hope that some time together will help, but a few days into the holiday one of the sisters disappears, under circumstances very similar to those in which Lauren was taken years before. Can Lauren save her sister, and stop the nightmare happening all over again?

I'm really excited right now because of...
Boy, Missing, my £1 book for World Book Day and Truth or Dare, my new teen thriller. (UK)
This book is so heart warming and almost made me cry at the end. Such an improvement from the first book. It is absolutely sad and so beautiful. I loved the ending because it really made you begin to think of how you view yourself and other people and it hints the fact that your not the only person in the world, you need to care about other people too and their emotions and feelings, which really makes me smile. Although Lauren and Shelby were never close during this book, it is lovely to see them express themselves to each other and how Lauren feels as well. I rated it 4 because I didn't like some parts due to them being unrealistic or not very interesting, plus I also thought that Jam had a PSP in the first on that he scratched, not a DS so when I read that it quite confused me, but I might be wrong so ignore me if I am. I also am very content that the character Lauren is much less whiney and matured a lot, during this book. She becomes much more selfless and boxes her feelings much more rather than making a huge deal out of them. I enjoyed reading this more because of her character. While I was reading this I did think that this family suffered many problems and that annoyed me because I thought that yes, family's do have many problems and I thought this family always being kidnapped was unrealistic. So you can see that that annoyed me and that is another reason why I only rated it 4 and not a 5. All in all sister, missing was enjoyable and the ending was so sad and heart warming. I do recommend this book depending on what you like as this isn't what I'd normally read but it is very emotional. I loved this one much more than the first.
I liked Girl, Missing and enjoyed Sister, Missing, but there's this thing that bothers me with Sophie Mckenzie's books. THEY'RE ALL THE SAME!! The Medusa Project are my favourite and were the first books I read by Mckenzie, so afterwards when I read GM I couldn't help but feel disappointed that it was the same fast paced book with a main character who's too young to understand the consequences of their actions. Then I went on to read Blood Ties and felt exactly the same. I read Blood Ransom and (shock horror) felt exactly the same. Nico (TMP) and Theo (BT/BR) felt like the same character to me and throughout BT/BR I constantly confused Theo with Nico. In Mckenzie's other trilogy, All About Eve, I even confused Luke with Nico! And Luke has blonde hair not brown! Although there are those (minor) problems, I do love all Mckenzie's books and have read them all. I can relate to Lauren (the main character in GM and SM) and felt the loss at the end of SM when her biological sister Shelby died, despite her being horrible to Lauren, and I fell in love with Jam (James) who was Lauren's best friend until she realised they were more than that. Overall, despite my problems, I loved Sister, Missing and think you should read it (granted you've read GM first otherwise it won't make sense!)
The sequel to ‘girl, missing’, this book was even more gripping and interesting than the first. I literally couldn’t put it down and had to stop myself from staying up till four am reading.
It was heartfelt and emotional in places, and while some bits were a bit predictable other I could not have seen coming.
To be honest, although the ending was sad and created friendship between Lauren and Shelby, I thought it was a bit unnecessary what happened, almost like it was to make the whole thing less of a fairytale ending. Despite this attempt, it did feel pretty happy and like the events of the book had no lasting effect on the characters, aside from obviously Shelby.
That’s maybe just personal preference for endings though because apart from that I thought it was great. You probably don’t have to read the first one to understand this one.
I really liked sister missing as well as girl missing by sophie mckenzie and am looking forward to reading missing me and would definatly recommend all three. In this book I like how you thought they were all safe but then something else happened and they were in danger again. Most people would think that they would get through all the dangerous adventures and be all safe at the end but the death of her sister Shelby round by surprise as I thought they were all going to survive. Also the fact that Lauren and Shelby were only just starting to understand eachover and then she died. Every page there was a new surprise which kept me reading and i cant wait to read the next one.

I liked Girl, Missing, but I did read it ages ago, and i've got more fussy about books, so if I re read it now I might not like it. I Really didn't like Sister missing. I didn't think Girl, missing needed a sequel, and I found Lauren really annoying. The whole way through I was thinking, Come on Jam, dump her! (I did feel slightly mean for this.) but unfortunately he didn't. I thought he should have go together with Shelby, Cause I liked her better.
Lauren is completely unreasonably horrible to Shelby, and even though Shelby is supposed to be the mean one, I think she's less selfish, and more sensible and less full of herself than Lauren.
It was also unrealistic, and not in the same way fantasy books are. Her sister, Madison, gets kidnapped just like she did, how likely is that? She managed to get a gun from a security guard. A week after her Shelby's death she's worrying about doing work. Who's work is there top priority when they nearly died and their sister died? It was just the little things like that.
But even after all that I didn't like abut it, I was still slightly sucked into it. I think it could have been a good book if it was slightly more believably and Lauren wasn't so annoying.
The ending was good, until the very last, incredible soppy bit. I was surprised that Sophie McKenzie killed Shelby off. It redeemed it slightly, because it did make it slightly more believably.

It was a great book. It was so annoying because there were so many parts were it could have just been solved but then things went wrong. It made me cry at the end when you realised how sad Shelby was feeling this whole time and she told Lauren just before she died. I love this book, it really made me feel fear and pulled on my heart strings. I would definitely recommend it.

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first. How many times can siblings be kidnapped? Felt very far fetched. The ending was sad, it’s a shame Shelby died.

4 stars. I cut one star because I guessed two major plots in the story before they even happened.. It's one of those very few times that I've took so long to finish a fast-paced book, as I'm always done reading within a day or two, at max.. I really like the book. I'm not the kind of person who can handle or enjoy reading too many twists or turns, but, I definitely enjoyed this story. I admit, I sobbed over the always "hard-hearted" Shelby's demise. She was "cold/hard-hearted" at least according to Lauren and Mo.. I was happy that things were finally well between sisters Lauren and Shelby, but, the unexpected happens.. Though, I'm not really complaining as they had to endure so much, that too at such an early age.. Thinking about my personal favourite character from the book.. I can't really choose one , but if I had to I'd choose Lauren, Jam, Shelby and Mo. The kids. They were the only truly brave ones. Amen. Rest in peace, Shelby. <3

this book was really good!!! i read the first book (girl, missing) years ago and didn’t even realise it was part of a series!! this book was so good but i just felt like too much went wrong. it was just things going wrong over and over and OVER again!! and in the end it almost seemed unbelievable. the timeline went really fast and the book was fast paced which was good but things just kept going wrong. i didn’t connect with the characters as much this time and the ending was so unbelievably sad (the type of sad where you stare at a wall for five minutes)!!! i will definitely be reading the next one and i do recommend this series especially the first book!!! i think i just read the book too long ago and it may have been more impactful just after i finished the first one!!!! still highly recommend though!!!
This was short, fast-paced, and both sad and beautiful at the same time. It was lovely seeing how far Lauren had come in the 2 years since she found her birth parents.
I felt compared to Girl Missing this had a lot more tension and edge of your seat moment bits, so much so I devoured it in one afternoon.
The ending was heartbreaking, and I'm all for not so happy endings, but I felt this was just cruel and just when Lauren and Shelby had appeared to have built bridges and connected.
I thought that this book was written much better than the first in the trilogy, simply because the descriptions and explanations were much better. Though I feel as if because of the theme of kidnapped people the author is limited in what they can write. Since the last book the characters have developed a lot, which I thought was good. I really liked/hated the ending because it was so unpredictable.
This is the second book of the missing trilogy, which is my favourite trilogy I have read so far.
This story leads on from the last one, and the main climax is that the main characters sister gets kidnapped, and it is about the journey to find her, and all the obstacles the occurred.
This is an action and drama book, and it is very tense and exciting.
I didn’t ever want to put this book down because there was always a new problem that’s had to be faced along the journey.
I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys reading action and drama books, and wants a small series to read.
“Nobody does it alone. Not even me” - probably the only quote in the book that made a lasting impression on me. Overall the book was incredibly far fetched but it was jam packed with adventure (if you can call getting kidnapped and almost killed twice an adventure). Losing one of the protagonists was the only realistic plot twist, which made it slightly more believable. On to the last book!
This book was a bit repetitive of the first book but I still liked it because it was very clever to use a different sister and some of the same people from the first book.
