Surprisingly delightful, quick read, would recommend.

Only thing is the author makes Elizabeth out to be almost perfect, when in fact she was far from it. some characters include William Shakespeare, Francis Bacon, Mary, Queen of Scots, and more

I've been yearning to collect and read the Signature Books series, so imagine my surprise when while staying with friends of friends overseas I found that they had about 20 of them in their storage room! Unfortunately, I only had time to read this one and skim two others. This series really needs to be reprinted. They are gripping little biographies with interesting illustrations and just the right amount of historical detail.

While I didn't really love some of Queen Elizabeth's actions the book was very interesting and I loved hearing more about her in a book that only took me two hours to read. =)

Great overview of Queen Elizabeth's life for elementary age children or anyone who wants a quick crash course. These older books have their value.
