Nora Moss #2

Captured in Love

Rate this book

Secrets lurk under the frigid waves in Iceland...

We barely survived the first task of the competition and the secret tomb in the Egyptian desert.

Now we’re heading to Iceland, the country where no witches have lived for decades.

Ever since the war with the dragon clans, this place has been abandoned by our kind.

But now we have to face the second task and find the magical token that will bring us one step closer to winning the Ballendial Games.

With Levi and Raphaël by my side, I can tackle anything the Scottish witches throw at us. We’re stronger than ever, and not just because our attraction burns hot enough to melt glaciers.

And I might even get to see Isak again. The mysterious Icelander left me with nothing but a kiss, and I’ve been thinking about him ever since.

We’ve got this.

We’ll collect our token and be on our way.

Unless these Games are even deadlier than we thought.

Unless the witches who organized them have a more sinister goal in mind.

Every new trap we discover, every spell we’re pitted against, tells me that we might not make it through the competition alive.

Captured in Love is the second book in this reverse harem paranormal romance trilogy. Follow Nora and her men on this unforgettable, steamy adventure!

I liked CAPTURED IN LOVE but nowhere near as much as book 1 because Nora made some really inconsistent choices. On the plus side, I liked the continuing adventure of the Games and the stakes are definitely getting higher as more of the Scottish coven's motives for the Games are revealed. I also loved the way Nora's relationship has grown with Levi and Raphaël and they really felt like a solid team, both in the Games and in their personal lives. Additionally, we see a lot more development between Levi and Raphaël specifically and I liked that they have a connection outside of Nora.

As for the parts I didn't enjoy, the first is that Isak really doesn't feel like he fits into the group because Nora, Levi, and Raphaël's relationship was growing so strong as just a triad. Similar to Ashwood's SEA DRAGONS OF AMBER BAY series, there's just not enough time spent developing the emotional connection to Isak so he feels like an outsider. I wish he could have been integrated into the relationship more in CAPTURED IN LOVE. Also, while Nora's feelings for Isak are obviously growing, she never talks about this with Raphaël and Levi and the lack of communication was frustrating. Are the guys even comfortable with Nora dating other men or Isak specifically? None of this is ever discussed.

My second issue is with Nora's fluctuating opinions on her magical abilities to influence other people's thoughts and emotions. She makes a big deal about how much she hates the idea of taking away someone's free will yet twice when she's upset and angry she uses her ability to push away the guys and then she disappears. She did it as a part of her backstory with Raphaël and then she did it again in this book when she finds out the secret Levi has been keeping. She also expects Raphaël to use his vampire compulsion on several occasions so they can get their way. This just felt really inconsistent; she refuses many times to use her powers on complete strangers but when she gets upset she uses it with devastating effect on the people she loves the most. It doesn't endear me to her character and she doesn't seem to fully realize how hurtful she's being when she use her powers this way.

All that being said, I will still read the final book in the series because I want to know what will happen when Nora and her men travel to Greece for the last task.

Favorite Quotes:

He knows what I am, what I’m capable of, and yet he’s completely relaxed. He even worries about me, as if I’m worth protecting.

Somehow, that knowledge is priceless. And I would do anything to protect him—and Nora—in turn.

Trigger Warnings
This book contains:
• Explicit sex scenes
• Attempted murder
• Conspiracy to commit murder.
Characters
Nora, Levi and Raphael are a team made up of two witches and a vampire competing in a secret competition. Throughout the first book (Cursed in Love) they find a way to be together and work together.
Now, we add in the complication of Isak, an Icelandic sea dragon who’s competing in the same competition but also somehow features in Nora’s life.
Storyline
Nora, Levi and Raphael travel to Iceland to find and complete the second task in the Balendial Trial in their quest to bring witches knowledge into a more accessible forum.
Only problem is, they need to somehow access some underground cavern and survive the tortures the witches have planned for them.
Overall Thoughts
I’m sorry. I love reading Zoe’s books. I love that I’m in her advanced readers list.
BUT I’M NOT SURE HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN TAKE HUGE GAPS BETWEEN BOOKS WHILE SHE WRITES THEM!
You know that feeling you get when you read a book and go “OMG I need the next book now!”?
Now, imagine you read a book, get that feeling, and you know the authors only just finished writing this book and hasn’t even started the next book…
It’s hard.
So hard!
I love Zoe. I love her books.
But at the same time I really wish she’d write a full series then give it to us all at once because she writes such amazing stories I can’t wait to keep going but I have to. How awesome would it be if I could just smash out a whole series in a couple of days?

I finished this one this weekend and LOVED. It explored Nora, Raphael and Levi's relationships more along with searching for the second magical token in Iceland! Rated 4 🌟
*
The steam was 🔥🔥🔥 If you're here for that, then you'll be pleased to know it was spot on. The dynamic between the trio was 👌 but there's definitely something going on with the Icelandic dragon shifter Isak too 🔥
*
The action/adventure portion was fun and enjoyed the second location/challenge for the Ballendial Games. It was interesting to see how the characters would navigate this together and it didn't disappoint! The magical aspect to these challenges and in using each characters magical abilities separately and together is fun and I really like how Zoe wrote this one!
*
Nora finally gets the truth about something that's been hanging between her and the guys. Anddd there's abit of a twist to that info so that was abit of a surprise! I hope it doesn't cause too much strife between them because I'm here for the 🔥 scenes. But we'll see how they move forward!
*
I'm looking forward to the third book and the third challenge of the Ballendial Games for Nora, Levi, Raphael and Isak. Off to Greece!

Witches, Sea Dragons and near-death experiences fill this steamy RH PNR.

This is the second book in the Nora Moss Series, a Paranormal Romance and Reverse Harem series. The book is primarily set in Iceland and has very descriptive scenes of sexual interactions between all three of the main characters; two males and a female.

I really enjoy Zoe Ashwood’s writing style and story telling. Her world of Witches and Sea Dragons is one I like to get lost in. The stories are well paced and beautifully described. The characters are relatable and develop well throughout the book.

If you’ve read Zoe Ashwood’s other two series (Sea Dragons of Amber Bay and Norse Sea Dragons), you’ll be familiar with this world of Witches and Sea Dragons. This new series runs parallel to those.

Nora Moss is a witch who feels that magical knowledge should be shared with all witches and not just held by a select few covens. Her mission is to access the extensive secret libraries of the Scottish Coven by entering their annual magical treasure hunt. Following her near death experience in Egypt on the first leg, she, along with her boyfriends Levi and Raphael, have headed to Iceland to collect their second token.

Iceland is a place where witches have not been seen in decades. The tokens they need to collect are deep under the sea and underground in a long abandoned Sea Dragon city. The mission is fraught with danger and it’s starting to seem as though the deadliest traps are set up to target Nora specifically.

Secrets from Levi’s past catch up with him and the relationship between him, Nora and Raphael could unravel just as they seem to be settling into being a trio. Once again they find themselves on the same path as Isak and his real identity becomes apparent. Nora finds herself drawn to him and I, as a reader, am now wondering if this trio is destined to become a full harem. Please let it become a full harem!

Y’all I am absolutely in love with this series. After reading the first one I had to immediately grab the other two and see how it ended. I’m obsessed with these characters and the storyline. This plot is so unique and it just grabs you immediately. I needed to know what happened next.

Book 2: Captured in Love picks up immediately where book 1 left off. We get to learn more about Isak who I absolutely adore. We also get so see more of Levi and Raphael’s relationship grow along with their relationship with Nora. I loved reading that so much which made it even harder when Levi’s big secret finally dropped. That cliffhanger got me which made me grateful I had book three already.

Book 3: Freed in Love was the same in that it picked up right where 2 left off. We’re dealing with the fall out of Nora learning Levi’s huge secret he kept from her and trying to figure out the third task. We also get to see the 4 of them grow closer together in their relationship. I especially loved it for Isak because of his family background.

I couldn’t pick a favorite guy. They all brought something different to the table. Nora was amazing throughout the books, everything you would want in an FMC. I’m telling y’all grab these and read them now.

Captured In Love by Zoe Ashwood
Nora Miss #2 - Releasing October 20th

“She won’t hate you, you know” he says, his words barely audible above the rattle of the other boat’s engine. That dream is the only thing keeping me going. I glance sideway at him. “I hope you’re right.”

This series has once again knocked me off my feet. I’m absolutely hooked in the paranormal world and I just can’t wait to find out what happens next. The chemistry between the four of them is smoking and who would love a crazy mix of witches, vampires and sea dragons.

This book leads off where book 1 end, so if you haven’t read it I really recommend it to get the best experience. Nora, Raphael and Levi and traveling to Iceland for the second part in the Ballendial Games. After the first leg they are starting to realise what they are going to come across won’t be easy, but hopefully together they can get through it, but Nora mind is still flicking g back to the big Icelandic man they meet in Egypt and whether or not they will cross paths again.

I am hooked on this series and just want to let you all know what’s happened but to me I feel like you should experience this beauty for yourselves. Now bring on book 3.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Captured In Love and for that I’m very grateful.

I mean this book was just insane, there was so much going on! I think the mission Nora and her men had in Iceland lived up exactly to my expectations… I mean I literally thought they weren't going to make it at some points! I'm seriously scared for what's awaiting them at their next destination (yikes). I really enjoyed that this book was set in Iceland, it was really interesting to read especially the whole premise of the token being hidden in an ancient sea dragon city. The relationship between Nora, Raphael, and Levi was going so well until it all just took a sudden turn for the worst at the end there, I mean my heart literally broke for Nora. On another note, I’m just excited to see more of Isaak in the next book and for Nora to reconnect with Levi and Raphael sooner rather than later. I’m seriously enjoying this series and I’m very excited to see what happens in Greece, it's no doubt going to be epic. It's more than likely that we'll be in for some serious adventure! I'm actually a bit sad that the next book is the last one... I’m so not ready for Nora’s story to end!

Captured in love by Zoe Ashwood

Rating: 4,5🌟

Writing: The way Zoe can describe the scenery for me to feel like I’m watching a movie while reading and still have a fast tempo of the story is unbelievable.

Storyline: The second book in this fantasy series which including witches, vampires, shapeshifters. It is a why choose story aka RH with some MM scenes, but romance isn’t the main part of this book, the fantasy is and the combination is beautifully done.

The story continues where the first book ended. Nora, Levi and Raphaël continues the second part of the race and. They get to know more about Isak and he has a bigger part in this book. I love that we as readers get more information on Isaks background that gives a deeper connection to him and his story.

Many hidden secrets are coming up to air, some good and some…. bad and just as in the first book ends perfectly to give just enough info and wish to read the next book without ending on a cliffhanger.

Nora, Raphaël and Levi travel to Iceland together to complete the second part of their quest. Going from the hot and dry atmosphere of Egypt to the cold environment of Iceland takes some getting used to, but fortunately they can always keep each other warm...

I had been looking forward to the second part of Nora Moss' story, and this book absolutely didn't disappoint. I love the dynamic between Nora, Raphaël and Levi and the potential that brews whenever they encounter Isak. Their emotions are such a beautiful mix between love and lust, gentleness and passion. The character building makes me fall in love with the characters, the world building with the scenery. On top of that, I love the concept of going on magical quests and the revelations that trickle through the rest of the story.

I can't find a single thing that I don't love about this series: I'm really looking forward to the final part of this trilogy!

I loved Captured in Love just as much as Cursed in Love. In this installment, Nora, Raphaël, and Levi travel to Iceland for the second quest. The plot unravels fast and the relationship between the characters develops on the go. I love the dynamic between the current trio and I can't wait to see what happens when you throw a sea dragon in the mix.
The writing is beautiful, the author offers enough details to draw you in, but not too much to distract you from the story. The world-building is fascinating and the action keeps you turning the pages. I loved the setting the author imagined for the second token hunt, but I won't give any details to avoid spoilers.
You can expect relatable characters (each with issues, secrets, and surprises), a tense adventure, plot twists, and dark secrets. And, of course, just enough steam to want more.
Now, they're off to Greece for their final trial and I can't wait to see how that will pan out.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "CAPTURED IN LOVE". This is such a terrific paranormal fantasy full of danger, suspense, intrigue, passion, emotions, on the edge of your seat thrilling engaging drama you can't put down.
Nora, Raphael & Levi after surviving the secret tomb in Egyptian desert first competition now head to Iceland where witches haven't lived for decades ever since the Dragon Wars.
Nora still keeps thinking about the Iceland stranger that kissed her in Egypt she wonders if she'll him again how he'll fit into the mix if he does, I love the adventure she & guys take you they have such different characters you fall in love with they feelings for one another have developed very quickly
I definitely recommend to get this great magical adventure it pulls you right into the story I'm so looking forward to when they end up in Greece in the next book to see how it all turns out.

This book was truly epic! I absolutely love the universe created by Zoe Ashwood with this whole magic competition around the world. Captured in love is the second book in this series, and also the second destination of Nora and her team. After Egypt, we follow them through Iceland where action, adventure, challenges and magical enigma are thrown at us in the best way. If you've read other series by Ashwood, you might even notice some little easter eggs here and there. I thought it was a nice touch, as if everything was set in the same universe. There are also lots of new developments in the main characters' relationships. And yes, it's relationships with an "s" because we have some MM happening in addition to the RH trope and it is hot! Do yourself a favor and pick up that book (or well, book 1 if you haven't started the series yet) because it's just so much fun and a real page-turner, I just couldn't put it down!

I had been waiting for the second book since the moment I finished the first book in Nora's series! I was not disappointed nor was this book any different than the first in the fact that I could not stop reading! I loved how this book moved them to Iceland and their adventure (both in the contest and in their relationships) continued strong! Revelations come about that broke Nora's heart at the end which of course left us at yet another cliff hanger, but I am grateful to know both sides of the story. However, it also makes me want to jump into the book and yell at everyone LOL I cannot wait to see if they can come together and fix things. I will be impatiently waiting for the next book, but in the mean time I'm going to have to go back and re-read slower because I couldn't slow down the first time LOL

I was lucky to be able to read an advanced copy of this book and have chosen to share my opinion. Great great great book as always Ms. Ashwood!

When I first started this series I was expecting a ton of action and possible steam moments and plenty of traps meant to kill the players. I got that and so much more. I was surprised by how much depth was given to the characters. There was so many moments when I could relate to the characters and the reasons behind their actions. While I am an absolute fan of reverse harems, that doesn't mean that I am opposed to other relationships. In the first book, we saw Levi and Raphaël slowly getting comfortable with each other and that got further explored in this book. There is so much that I could gush about the book and the universe that it's in. I can't wait to read the next book! I even did a book blog on the book, so check that out if you want to read more of my thoughts on the book!

I received this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The second of the series takes us to Iceland. Where I just KNEW the lovely and mysterious Isak would pop up again.

I really felt for him once he got home and we met his family. He isn’t respected or appreciated as he should be and that was shitty. But he has to continue on with the games even if his douche half brother wants to take over.

The second challenge was super interesting because we knew Isak’s secret so watching our trio work their way through the underground city and finding scales and the claw marks was a lot of fun. Until they found poor Isak. Ugh that whole scene was so tough! And once again proved how horrendous this Scottish coven was.

Then Nora found out that Levi and Raphael had been hiding from her. And ONCE AGAIN when faced with an emotional problem she used her magic against the two men and ran. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 🤦🏻‍♀️

But where did she run to? STRAIGHT TO ISAK!!!! Ugh I love him lol

Next we will be headed to Greece. Here. We. Gooooo.

I found this hard to get into at first. The motivations of each character aren't revealed until we're a ways in and for me that sometimes makes it hard to continue. So I took a break and came back to it and finished the rest of the series in a few days.
Nora is determined to win an amazing race style competition with her companion Levi. The winner of the competition gets 24 hours in the coven library, a treasure trove of history and spells the likes of which doesn't exist anywhere else on earth. But that will change if Nora had her way. It's entertaining, a bit predictable, but I liked the various mythological bits put into it. The series as a whole does occasionally get bogged down in details or extraneous events that don't really push the story along, but they are not excessive. If you like a RH PNR sprinkled with friends to lovers, instant attraction, and second chance romance I would recommend.

I don't know how she does it, but Zoe Ashwood always times her books release with my vacations so I get uninterrupted reading time to devour these wonderful stories.

I read this book in one day and I'm so glad I didn't have to put it down. I love Nora and all of her men (even the one who isn't quite hers yet). She's strong, she's determined, she's protective of those she loves. Just a few of the reasons I'm obsessed with her character.

I also love Raphael and Levi. I loved the character growth Levi got in this book and how well it was set up in book one. Family issues are universal and witches aren't immune.

But my favorite is Isak. I mean, dragon. Say no more. And I won't. You need to read this because I guarantee you'll love him so much. I am looking forward to so much more of him in book 3.

i’m not connecting with fmc. i think she makes weird decisions. i think it’s suppose to come off as endearing but it doesn’t. one of the mmc says at some point that he loved that she cared so much about ppl and all i could do is snort a laugh bec she’s going to get y’all killed for ppl you don’t know. to save ppl who might want you dead.

the smut is so gross. in the first book one smut scene happened after two of the peed outside during a sand storm. i just know they didn’t wash which ew. in this book one smut scene they were out running and almost getting killed and what not but go at it as soon as there is safety despite the funk. also ew. so yeah i’ve been skipping those bec gag.

i want to know how things wrap up. the story got better once things were out in the open. i could do without the stupid break up arc but it is what it is.

Interconnecting Threads between Sever Relationships

5/5

This is the next leg of Nora/Levi/Raphael/Isaks journey. It is a riveting journey to read and be enraptured in. Once I read book 2 I was running to get book 2. And I couldn't put it down!! I'm interested in seeing where and how all the threads and connecting strings play in the relationships that are building! That in itself is a min puzzler on top of The Games.

Ashwood is an incredible author giving us this incredibly detailed book down to rust particles and using vivid color imagery. Definately a page-turner!

Book 3 here I come banging on your door!!!

The plot thickens

This book picks up just after the last one and we follow Nora and the guys while they head to Iceland. Isak is traveling ahead and we get to experience his family and more background as to why he's in the games and towards his motivations. This adventure is so intriguing and pulls you in so, you the reader, are searching along with the group to try and figure out and find the clues. The steam level is once again off the charts but not unrealistic in the situations they find themselves in. I can't wait for the conclusion in Greece.

This is book 2 in the Nora Moss series and cannot be read as a stand-alone!!

This PNR series follows Nora and her companions in what basically could be considered a super dangerous magical scavenger hunt. Following the first books adventure in Egypt, Nora, Raphael and Levi head off to Iceland for stop #2 where they run into ancient secrets and a secret Levi has been keeping from her for a long time. I love how Zoe is developing the characters and uses spice and steam to move the plot along and allow the relationships to grow stronger. Can’t wait for book 3!

This 2nd book takes right off from where the 1st left us. This is the Iceland stop for the second part of the competition. The adventure in this book is just as thrilling, gory, and intense as the Egyptian part! I really enjoyed watching the guys relationship with each other and Nora develop and begin to layer and become even more complex than lust. Sadly, secrets that are exposed/shared come out causing drama at the end leaving us with a cliff hanger at the end. Waiting impatiently, patient for the last installment to the trilogy!

What a wonderful sequel to the previous book! This one takes place right after the events of the previous book! There’s a lot happening here and the relationship between Nora, Raphael and Levi continues to develop. There’s a lot of steam and action in this PNR RH. Bring on book 3 cause I’m ready for more Isak!

Nora, Levi and Raphael head to Iceland to find the second token. The Scottish witches are extremely devious and have no qualms Boutvtaking contestants out. They run into Isak again and we learn more about him and his family dynamic. Overall, a fantastic read and an amazing series. I volunteered to read this book.

Enjoying the unfurling mystery, the world and the adventure but......
Nora is crossing the line between a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and a selfish, self-righteous hypocrite. As the book progresses, Nora leans further towards the latter which is a shame because I liked her in book one.
