I never ever expected there to be a cat robot show up in this series, but here we are!
OR that maybe that there is a whole other race/planet out there! Talk about expanding the world building (no pun intended) greater than just the earthlings and the Evil League!
Once again though, I completely devoured another volume in this series! I think this might have been my favorite yet because I really found the parts with the robot cat super cute! I would also add that at times it was super touching, which I think this mangaka is thriving at!
In the first volume, it felt like this series was simply a humorous one, but each volume has increasingly had a heartfelt moment where it makes you a little teary-eyed. I think this volume specifically showed that even if we feel we are worthless and don't have a purpose, we are in fact worthy and do have s purpose. We may have thought we would be living our lives one way, only to find out that life can still be meaningful in other smaller ways than we first planned. It was indeed a special message woven in that I was very much touched by!
I love how we are seeing more of the characters in this world! The Rangers and the two young children are back and though neither had A LOT of page time, there was enough where I felt happy and thankful they had some time to shine! I wish Black had a little more time because I am VERY intrigued by his character, but I think we've only had cameos of him so far?
Definitely another wonderful volume! Eagerly looking forward to the next one!

'Panda chocolates? How could I not buy them? But then I'll have to decide whether to eat the panda from the head or from the feet... Do I... have it in me to make such a choice? But in that case, perhaps I should pick one that isn't pandas... But... Pandas... Pan—Ggrh...'
A manga about a villain can actually be so heartwarming. Possibly the best volume yet?
The first chapter has the General arguing with himself over all the different bears and even teddy bears. And then Trigger crashing the meeting and talking about cats LOL. Why choose but make it animals, heh.
The gift giving chapter. 'Perhaps the very meaning of giving a present is to make both the giver and the receiver happy.' How are these villains so 🥹?
The introduction of C-018 the cat-shaped robot is basically the best thing to happen to this series, I cannot get enough and there were so many chapters featuring it, too. Get you a pet robot that you can then ask for preferences regarding its bed and then it of course, it ends up being panda-shaped, heh. I'm loving their dynamic so much!
There are also more chapters here featuring the General at work and it was actually fun to read about that. It's also nice to see more of Rooney and Trigger and their interactions with . It also meant a slight lack of panda content but hey, I'm not complaining because there are still pandas.
The cherry blossom chapter got me emotional yet again, eeee.
The Rangers fam remains amazing. Blue and the twins sleeping in the same positions was so adorable actually and Black setting that picture as his screen saver, I'm fine. All of them pitching in giving a gift to Pink and then the punishment Red got from the twins, ugh so adorable. I love them all.
Not the General bumping into Red anywhere he goes on his day off and just because Red keeps getting lost. 💀
The art is amazing as always and I loved the way C-018 is drawn.

This manga is seriously adorable. I like the MC and his villain group and I really love the Hero group so much. Every chapter is a delight.

I am continually surprised and delighted with this continuing story. It's funny and heartwarming. This volume has 12 short stories featuring the General, the Heroes of Justice (the Rangers), and the introduction of a new character--a cat robot named C-018.

I am really liking this series! Each volume seems to get better, especially with the continued growth and expansion of the world. I also think the development of the relationships among multiple characters is both sweet and funny.

I'm still loving this manga! I adore Mr. Villain so much, and I equally love the Black Ranger too. I enjoyed seeing the tree kids finally meet, the pandas, robot cat and more of the Evil League members (Trigger is so funny.) Red Ranger also is still humorous, I think the Rangers and Mr. Villain will have to fight at some point, but I think they'll actually get along thanks to Mr. Villain's good deeds.

I like how unhinged the cat version of Mr. Villain is. A real cat scenario book! A lot of fun scenarios this time. Wish there were more Villain/Ranger interactions, but there's enough to be satisfying

I think I really love this series. It's easy to read, cute, fun, and I enjoy seeing the characters/story develop. Every time I get a notification in Libby saying a new volume is available, I rush to check it out. It really is just a lovely time.

We got more Ranger side stuff and now a second dimension trying to destroy Earth. I think this is getting to be too many plot points for a silly little slice of life about a demon wanting to spend time with pandas on his days off. Given how short these are and how expensive Square Enix manga are, I think I'm going to set this one to the side for now.

In the first chapter of Volume. 4, we see the General having a back and forth argument with himself about the different types of bears; just for Trigger to then interrupt adding the discussion of cats! God, it was just so overly hilarious and adorable at the same time.
We then get a chapter that highlights the gift giving of Christmas which I felt was so sweet. 'Perhaps the very meaning of giving a present is to make both the giver and the receiver happy.'
You really wouldn’t think these guys were supposed to be villains if going off the way they act alone.
The introduction of C-018 was a nice surprise. Upon the Generals and C-018’s first meeting the general finds himself unable to not help the cat shaped robot merely because he looks like a cat and he was honestly so relatable for that alone. I loved how we got ample context surrounding C-018; plus it’s so convenient to have a pet robot where you can ask what it’s preferences are all the way down to what bed it would like—which of course the General take it upon himself to choose a panda-shaped one. It was so cute to see him take home the robot it’s going to be fun watching their dynamic evolve.
We were blessed with more cherry blossom chapters and I’m honestly loving these because they really pull on your heartstrings.
I love how each volume were provided with more Rangers content. We seeing more of how their little family dynamic works which is fun. And also very wholesome too, because Blue and the twins sleeping in the same positions was so adorable and then Black setting the picture as his phone’s wallpaper, I–.
All of them pitching in to buy a gift for Pink and then the twins proceeding to punish Red because he was about to spill a secret. Ugh, heartwarming truly.

Mr. VIllian’s Day Off
This was yet another solid volume. We started off nice and slow with some run-of-the-mill interactions with everyone and it was just nice and chill. Then we got to meet a fascinating new character, which definitely feels like they have so much plot potential. And then we ended with some more just really chill interactions between characters. Not a whole lot happening in this volume, but still a lot of fun.
Thoughts while reading
-I feel like I’ve had dreams like that before
-I love how prevalent Santa Clause is as a character, it is adorable
-I like that we are getting to see more of The General with his tail, it makes him look so cool
-The Rangers are all so sweet together
-Robo cat
-OOoo, a third set of platters has entered the game
-C-018 is adorable and I hope part of a very interesting plot in the future, much potential in that one I sense
-Careful pink, your feelings are showing
-Not the crushing block of guilt smh

I love the covers for this series, I love the overall presentation, I LOVE the color plate in this one in particular, and I just love the story as a whole. The anime covered all of these volumes (hopefully there will be a second season as more comes out), but it felt just as fresh and healing and wonderful to read it all.
I don't think this is likely to go anywhere in terms of big plots, but it's interesting that there's another planet trying to invade Earth, and potentially being a danger to the General's troops as well. I can dream of a future where he teams up with the Rangers to defend his newly beloved Earth, anyway.
This is a feel-good series, but there are so many quiet messages about family, friendship, loneliness, cherishing daily joys, and finding one's place in the world. The cat robot really tugged on some serious heartstrings here, and the General has finally found a pet/companion.
Love Red, as always. He's so incredibly funny and sweet. The chapter illustration of him fighting the General was fantastic.

While less comedic than other volumes it makes it for it with the tender comforting element of the series that it serves very well here especially with the introduction of the cat robot C-108! I don't know if the series as a whole will continue in that path but I wouldn't mind as I've fallen in love with the series' characters and world. A highlight chapter was the continuation of valentines day chapter was really sweet with Blue secretly getting Pink the gift. With the introduction of new aliens we get even more gradual world building. Going in I never thought I'd be so intrigued by the world building yet here I am sitting on the edge of my seat for any crumbs of world building. I guess it's become a third pillar of the manga next to the manga's tenderness and comedy that holds the series afloat.

This is nothing to write home about, again.
It’s really slow moving and continues to be kind of boring. But it is somewhat entertaining, which is why I continue the series.
Throughout all of the chapters, the ghost boy and the girl sakura tree spirit, are what I like most.
I also think it’s funny that Pink is in love with Mr. Villain, without realizing it him.
The young twins are funny too.
The new robot cat was cute. When he was searching on the internet saying “how to take care of a cat”, “living with cat”, “first time pet owner”, “life with cats”, ect, I laughed because I did the same thing when I got my first dog.

I meant to savour this to closer when the next volume comes out, but I have the flu and I needed a pick-me-up. This worked perfectly.
Mr. Villain gets himself a robot cat that is actually a deadly weapon by another alien race that doesn’t function as intended. Cuteness ensues. There’s some hope for a romance between Pink and Blue, that is to say, nothing happened yet, and the romance between the cherry tree and the spirit of the bench sort of happens too. I almost took one star off though, because there were no pandas. I got over that.

This is my favorite volume of Mr. Villain’s adventures yet! There is such rich contrast in illustration with the fourth volume that I didn’t see previously. There seemed to be more of a natural flow through the chapters (including the holiday one) that blended all of the established characters Mr. Villain had met in previous adventures and building off of a new found fascination of cats with Robot Cat! Also seeing Pink’s infatuation with Mr. Villain is brewing a good love story, just as he’s a matchmaker for the Boy and the Cherry Tree!
