With Sakura's memories recovered, Shaoran and his friends defeated Fei Wong, the cause of all their troubles. In order to dissolve the last curse launched by the latter, however, Shaoran had to agree to separate from Sakura and continue to travel through the dimensions in the company of Kurogane, Fay and Mokona. The group thus finds themselves visiting Nirai-Kanai, ruled by the "Divine Princess". At first sight the country looks like a paradise, but it hides a dark side...
CLAMP originally began in 1989 as a twelve-member dōjinshi circle, but by 1990, the circle had diminished from twelve to seven. Of the remaining seven, Tamayo Akiyama, Sei Nanao, and Leeza Sei left the group during the production of the RG Veda manga. Other former members of CLAMP also included Soushi Hishika, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Yuzuru Inoue and Shinya Ōmi. Currently, there are four members in the group.
In 2004, CLAMP's 15th anniversary as a mangaka group, the members changed their names from Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi to Ageha Ohkawa, Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi (her name is pronounced the same, but written with different characters) respectively. The August 2004 issue of Newtype USA, a magazine specializing in events of the anime and manga subcultures, reported that the members of CLAMP simply wanted to try out new names. In a later interview with Ohkawa, it was revealed that initially Mokona wanted to drop her surname because it sounded too immature for her liking, while Nekoi disliked people commenting that her name was the same as Mick Jagger's. Ohkawa and Igarashi, wanting to go with the flow of Nekoi's and Mokona's name changes, changed their names as well.
In 2006, they made their first USA public debut at Anime Expo in Anaheim, California. They were well received at the convention, with 6,000 fans in attendance at their panel.
Puesssss agradecida y emocionada de poder, al fin, leer esta continuación de Tsubasa, pero la verdad es que me ha parecido una intro un poco floja y confusa, espero que en los dos siguientes tomos todo cobre sentido.
For those who don't know, Tsubasa: WoRLD CHRoNiCLE is a sequel to Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. The original had Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane traveling the worlds with Sakura and Mokona to retrieve Sakura's lost memories in the form of feathers. Without being too spoiler-y, the end of RESERVoir sends Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane on another journey with no goal or destination in mind. Thus we have WoRLD.
So far, there's little explanation as to how or why Syaoran and co. are in this new world, Nirai Kanai. If you hadn't read the first series, you wouldn't know why they're there or called "travelers" or anything. I won't get into that in this review, since you can go read the original series for yourself or be lazy and read the wikipedia article. :p
In short, don't read this unless you are familiar with the original series. And go read Xxxholic Rei, too. While not necessary, Rei will fill in some gaps on an early conversation between Syaoran and Kimihiro.
Anyway, the meat of the book basically feels like nothing has changed. You could go right from the final volume of RESERVoir into WoRLD and it doesn't miss a beat. The art looks the same, the characters act the same, and so on. All that's missing is Sakura being her adorable self in the middle of breakfast. WoRLD also carries the more serious tone from the latter half of RESERVoir rather than the more lighthearted world-exploration of the first half.
It feels like I've never left the Tsubasa cast, picking up this series, except for the fact that it's been years since the first series finished. You might want to briefly review the original before picking this one up, but it's not necessary. They do a decent job jogging your memory on things you need to know for the most part, but as I said, go read RESERVoir if you haven't already before jumping into this one.
One final thing I'd like to add: Yes, there is a Miyuki cameo. The trend continues. It's actually a pretty obvious one for Tsubasa this time around.
Nice to see old favorites again. Nothing much happened, but I realized that my brain is refusing to remember most of what happened at the end of xxxHolic, which is probably for the best... is rage blindness a thing?
Without Sakura around the group is a bit of a sausage fest, but them being their own little family was cute and funny. For example Mokona calling Kurogane a "constantly drunk husband" was one of the best descriptions ever.
The art style is a bit different from the original story, but still recognizable (not like how X went through three different art styles) and I feel the backrounds are starting to become more detailed again. Thought that was missing for a while.
Also my favorite character from RG Veda finally showed up, which was awesome. Looking forward to the other two volumes and then I'll go back to sulking about how CLAMP keep doing the "Oh shiny!" thing to their ongoing stories. I swear I'm a salt mine by now.
I'm so excited that CLAMP decided to continue the story of Tsubasa! I definitely felt like the previous series left off with so much left to do, and this new series doesn't disappoint. Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane, Mokona, and Sakura are back and I'm so excited for the upcoming adventures! Already, everything is being tied to the previous story, specifically with Syaoran's relationship with his clone and what happened at the end of Reservoir Chronicle. The only thing I'm not too happy about is that Sakura didn't join them on this journey. I mean, THEY FREAKING CONFESSED THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER and now he's cursed to continually travel throughout worlds. Even though he'll see her often, they can't keep a constant relationship up when he's gone all the time. But other than that, the start to this series is great and I'm very excited!
MORE TSUBASA YOU SAY? BUT LEXIE CLAMP SHOULD FINISH THEIR OTHER HOT TITLE X FIRST MAYBE? PIFFLE!! GIVE ME CONFUSING CLONES WITH AMNESIA CHASING A STEAMED BUN THROUGH ALL THE DIMENSIONS ANY DAY!
meanwhile, as expected, I'm horribly confused. would it help if I had finished xxxHolic or started xxxHolic Rei?
Gorgeously detailed art, engaging characters, and interesting locations make the first volume in the Tsubasa sequel a great read. Important Tip - This new series is as much a sequel to XXXHolic Kai as it is to the original Tsubasa, so make sure to read Kai before you read this volume or the beginning will be very confusing.
War am Anfang etwas verwirrt, kam dann aber langsam wieder rein. Story konnte mich bisher nicht wirklich packen, also Mal sehen wie es in den Folgebänden weiter geht.
It was so nice seeing Shoaran's face again. He's one of my favourite fictional characters of all time, so it's nice to see his story continue!
I do love that this series picks up from where Reservoir left off. I like the world in this volume and the mythology and the connection to xxxHolic Rei (definitely read Rei 1-3 first. It's confusing otherwise). I love that Sakura still has her place in the story, and the introduction of new CLAMP characters! It does feel a little episodic, but this is CLAMP, so I'm willing to bet there's more to this story than just world jumping (especially if xxxHolic Rei is any indication).
I feel like the art style has changed. It's not as light as the beginning of Reservoir, nor as dark as the end of it, but somewhere in the middle. Everyone has a slightly more mature look. It's growing on me.
I look forward to what CLAMP has in store for us this time!
It's wonderful to return to the fabulous world and characters of CLAMP's great epic Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle in this sequel/appendix, but this volume gets it off to a slow start. I didn't mind it much since I was just happy to see my beloved Fai, Kurogane, Shaoran, and Mokona, etc, again, and revel in CLAMP's beautiful artwork and gentle-hearted, fantastical worldview, but the stakes feel kind of low and the plot somewhat meandering in this first volume. This English edition was not helped by the unfocused, sometimes inaccurate translation--it's a shame Kodansha didn't get the translator of TRC back for this series. All in all, it's nice to get back to CLAMP's wonderland and great to see more vintage CLAMP characters make their multiverse appearances! (and the KuroFai moments--a few nice ones here and there for those of us who love them ;-))
Ah, Tsubasa. I only missed you because of the crossovers and more Watanuki.
This starts in what seems to be the middle of something, which is somewhat disorienting at first, but quickly dispelled once you begin the standard world intro. All in all, it was a solid volume, and I didn't find myself screaming at the pages like I did towards the end of the prior series, which is a good change of pace.
Although Syaoran is dreaming of Syaoran, and really, do we really need more clone drama? (CLAMP's answer: yes.)
It is great to jump back into the world of Tsubasa again. After the first amazing series, I was left wondering what happened in the aftermath.
Starting this continuation is exciting. I am hopeful that we will get further insights to our main heroes. But I am especially holding fast to belief that we will also see glimpses of the other Syaoran. I am so happy that our Syaoran was able to connect with him, even if it was only a dream.
Really curious about where this world will take our heroes and hoping for some satisfying conclusions.

I was super psyched to discover this series, because Tsubasa is one of my favorites. But I was super confused while reading this, and the information dump in the beginning, to me, was a little heavy. But I am still super eager to read the next installments, so hopefully I can get my hands on them soon. Also, I still love Kurogane. And his interactions with Fai.
Utterly forgettable. Can't say I am rooting for any of the characters, or am in any way invested in the story. "Cute" and "harmless" is probably the best I can say about this manga, after that the next best adjective would be "boring." I'll check out the next volume or two, but my hopes are down.
Yay! Our favourite heroes are back! I'm so happy that there's more of Tsubasa to enjoy! Syaoran, Fai, Karogane, Mokona and Sakura (though she's not travelling with the others this time) are off to a new world. This world has a mysterious other side. They paid some being to cross and help save this world. It feels good to have that the angry Karogane humour back!

Buenas buenas, hello there!
I probably should've reviewed the previous series. XD But that is too many volumes to go through for such an average feeling of the series overall. When CLAMP made their two new [at the time] overlapping series "cliffhanger" endings...I knew they intended to come back to them. So hearing of [two] new "Tsubasa" and "xxxHolic" mini-series was no surprise to me.
I won't say this is any better, nor any worse than the previous series...they clearly wanted to showcase their newest manga (Gate 7) in this series, using the characters. My favorite character is Kurogane...he evolved through the previous series, so is more "fond" of the people he is travelling with than when he started the journey. Like the previous near-30 volume series...it's a good showcase of recycling CLAMP manga characters and possibly getting new fans interested in their older stuff. It's a nice action-drama-adventure, but it is nowhere on the scale of their older series (even though they hope to make it so).
This kick-off of a new CLAMP series will make the most sense to readers who've already read all of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, xxxHolic, and xxxHolic Rei, because Tsubasa World Chronicle picks up the storyline where those intertwined series left off. I was delighted to discover this continuation, because I've grown incredibly attached to Syaoran, Kurogane, and Fai. (And Watanuki, for that matter).
As with all CLAMP titles, there are direct references to previous stories and cameos from another series. Early on in my forays into CLAMP's work, their big reveals would fall flat because I was missing the allusions. This time around, I experienced the delicious thrill of *knowing* the people Syaoran meets because I'd recently read Gate 7.
Pleased with the set-up. Looking forward to more adventures!
The story follows Syaoran, Kurogane, Mokona and Fai. They are a group of friends who must keep travelling from world to world due to an exchange that had been done previously to free Syaoran. Syaoran is a young powerful boy who loves to help people. Kurogane is a warrior and in a way a father figure to the group. Fai is a fun-loving mage and plays the mother figure of the group. Mokona is Mokona, if you ask him. To the rest of the group, Mokona is a cute lovable furball who is the key to their world travelling and communication with the wish shopkeeper Watanuki. This ragtag team of friends brings a lightness to what gradually becomes a darker story, as they will have to put their lives on the line to help new friends.
