Explore Books by Genre!
Looking for that next great read? Have very specific tastes? Our new genre pages may be just what you need.
We'll show you new releases, hot trends, authors you've read, and popular books! Browse as if in a bookstore, but with the extra benefits of checking the star rating and adding the book to your to-read list right then and there.
You can search for something as general as fiction or as specific as zombies. In non-fiction, read about parenting, military history, or vegan cooking. Our categories are organized in a hierarchy, so you can navigate from the sub-genres section to your area of interest.
We've also got related giveaways, quizzes, videos, lists, groups, and even author interviews.
So how do we decide what books fit into what category? The answer is: we don't. The new genre pages use crowd-sourced information from your bookshelves. So when you create shelves like "memoir" or "politics", you're actually helping us categorize books and creating a richer experience on the genre pages.

Question though: When you are looking at a book information page, is there any way to see what genre it has been tagged as?

Rivka, does it mean the program recognizes every shelf a book is put on, even if if only 2 people out of thousands classified it as such? Seems like it opens up a lot of room for error. A lot.

But that doesn't make it any less wrong. :/

I think you might want to add "The Golden Age" to your mystery genre for those of us who enjoy the classic books from those years.

Found 'em! :)

Yeah, I have a LOT of stuff tagged Childhood because that's when I read it... but it was not age-appropriate.
