Known for its currency and clear writing style, this book provides a comprehensive and systematic introduction to elementary forms of learning that have been the focus of research for much of the twentieth century. The book covers habituation, classical conditioning, instrumental conditioning, stimulus control, aversive control, and their applications to the study of cognition and to the alleviation of behavior problems. Biological constraints on learning are integrated throughout the text, as are applications boxes that relate animal research to human learning and behavior. The book closely reflects the field of research it represents in terms of topics covered, theories discussed, and experimental paradigms described.
Bra. Tät men torr. Tenta avklarad. I kort:
Städa alltid rummet innan du avnjuter ölen
Resp.
Wow. I know this is a textbook and not supposed to be an exciting novel, but, wow.
This is the driest textbook I've ever had the displeasure of reading.
I've read informative textbooks that were witty and subtly humorous while still effectively getting the content and concepts across. So. It's POSSIBLE! It just wasn't a consideration in this one, apparently.
Had to read the entire text for my Principles of Learning psych course. Confusing and taxing. Reading these chapters was less preferable than watching paint dry. While my lack of understanding for the content might be hindering my opinion, the text did little to remedy any confusion.
author has a youtube channel explaining concepts if any part is confusing. topic very straight forward however i am a slow thinker! lol ~ technically read the 2014 one
Lloro. Por fin lo termino. Lloro.
I really loved this book. Easy reading, easy to understand, a lot of experiments and interesting facts,... Learning and behaviour, for me, are the most interesting and useful parts of Psychology.
