Een neuro-evolutionair betoog over het nut van ons waarnemingsapparaat en het duiden van de wereld. Volgens de schrijver bieden onze zintuigen geen betrouwbare weergave van de werkelijkheid, maar zien we slechts dat wat in het verleden nuttig was om te zien (om te kunnen overleven). Lotto betrekt zijn visie radicale perceptiefilosofie tegen het einde van het boek op zo'n beetje de hele samenleving. Het is vooral erg leuk om te lezen vanwege de visuele en kunstzinnige illustraties en tekstmodificaties die door de auteur ingezet worden om zijn punt te maken.
