In this heartwarming small‑town romance, can three months, two planning projects, and a meddling grandmother finally make two high school hate crushes see just how right they are for each other?

Ambitious real estate agent Sinclair Buchanan is ecstatic to be her best friend’s maid-of-honor—until she discovers the best man is Garrett Davenport. Sin and Rett’s mutual hate crush ignited when they were teens and hasn’t let up since . . . except for that one extremely hot (and extremely regrettable) night they shared five years ago.

Nothing gets Rett fired up like going toe-to-toe with Sinclair. She’s as infuriatingly stubborn, and as absolutely gorgeous, as when he fell for her back in high school. Working together to plan their best friends’ last-minute wedding is one thing, but when his matchmaking grandmother gets involved Rett knows he’s in deep. Attraction has always simmered between them, but this time, they’re both in danger of losing their hearts.

Return to Hummingbird Way by Reese Ryan is the second book in the contemporary romance Holly Grove Island series. As with a lot of romance series the main characters in each of the Holly Grove Island series change with each new book so they can be read as a standalone or in any order if choosing to do so.

Return to Hummingbird Way is a mix of a second chance romance and an enemies to lovers story. Sinclair Buchanan is a top selling real estate agent on Holly Grove Island and Garrett Davenport was her old high school nemesis. Sinclair and Garrett did share one passionate night together five years ago but nothing came of it.

Now Sinclair and Garrett are going to be the maid of honor and best man at their friends upcoming wedding bringing the two back together again. Not only does the wedding plans push Sinclair and Garrett together but soon they find some matchmaking happening with family but a relationship between the pair may not be able to last.

The Holly Grove Island series is one that I have followed from the beginning and was happy to return to in this second book. It was fun seeing glimpses of the previous characters in the story but certainly not necessary to have read the first book to enjoy this one. I love the character growth shown in this second edition and of course loved returning to the lovely setting of Holly Grove but the best was probably the meddling matchmaker that gave a few chuckles along the way! Will be looking forward to the next to come in the series.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

the setup…
Sinclair Buchanan is not only Holly Grove Island’s top selling real estate agent but is well known for her superior planning skills. She’s her best friend Dakota’s maid of honor and is in charge of all things related to that upcoming wedding. But they throw a real wrench into her planning when the groom announces his best man is Garrett (Rett) Davenport, her nemesis from high school, who will be “helping” her with everything. Rett’s also a real estate agent now living in Charlotte and has matured since those days when he made sport of tormenting Sinclair. He’s lots of regrets but that doesn’t include that explosive night they shared five years ago.

the heart of the story…
Both Garrett and Sinclair are complicated people with extremely strong family ties to Holly Grove Island, even though he moved away years ago. He was raised by his grandmother Mama Mae after his parents divorced, his father died and his mother remarried. Rett has lots of regrets but none more than how he treated his family and Sinclair. She is highly successful but continues to be compared to her sister by her mother and harangued for not being married and childless. It took a bit for Garrett and Sinclair to declare peace and find a way to work together for the sake of their friends, with lots of meddling by Mama Mae who was responsible for many hilarious moments. Her schemes were brilliant, too, as Garrett and Sinclair eventually find their way to a great romance.

the bottom line…
There’s something about this community I find irresistible and I pounced on the opportunity to read this second book as soon as it became available. Sinclair and Rett are well developed characters who had distinct, admirable personalities and qualities that were powerful when combined. It took a while for Sinclair to trust him and he worked hard to get there, which I liked and thought it was needed. I loved their deep family ties, despite some things being at issue. Rett’s relationship with his grandmother was delightful as was she. But you shouldn’t read this on an empty stomach as the meals were described in mouth-watering detail, even inspiring me to create a few. This was a lovely, steamy romance and wonderful reading experience. I can’t wait to return to Holly Grove Island.

Return to Hummingbird Way by Reece Ryan
Holly Grove Island #2. Contemporary diverse/own voice romance. Small town, Second chance troupes.
Garrett Davenport returns home for a family event. Sinclair Buchanan has organized the event and seeing Garrett there gets her heart racing. He reciprocates but both have busy lives and aren’t sure anything more is possible, much less advisable. Enter granny, Mama Mae with a rehab decorating project she wants Sin to manage, has Sin and Rett working together on the project. Can their geographic differences be overcome so they can peruse a more permanent relationship?

Sin and Rett clearly have chemistry (steammmy!) but competing careers and where they peruse those careers is a big factor. One or both will have to make changes and compromises. Both seem happy and successful where they are so that typically means something changes over the course of the story. I was thinking that I dislike this conflict, but I guess it’s real life. Your new job / opportunity / love may require some changes.
Sin and Rett work well together on the rehab and in their relationship. Mama Mae adds some wonderful life commentary, and yes, change happens to get our HEA.
Steamy, and charming.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

I'm such a sucker for small town second chance romances. Sinclair and Garrett's paths cross again when their best friends are getting married. Tasked with pulling off a short notice wedding, Sin and Rett are forced to confront their frustrations but also lingering attraction towards each other, especially finally talking about that one night together years ago. In their time together they finally peels back their layers and realize that there is so much more there than they realized.

I loved everything about this story, from the whitty banter to the smoldering attraction between these two. In between are them both dealing with personal, family, and career issues. The flow of the story was great, and I had a hard time putting this one down once I got started.

Return to Hummingbird Way is the second book in the Holly Grove Island and a great follow-up to Second Chance on Cypress Lane, the first book in the series.

Sinclair "Sin" Buchanan and Garrett "Rett" Davenport are not what you would call friends, more like frenemies. They never have been, but for as long as they can remember, they have been forced to spend time together because Sin's best friend, Dakota, and Rett's cousin, Dexter, are a couple and they wanted to spend time with them, so that meant forced togetherness. There was one time they ran into one another at a work function where they ended up spending one passionate night together, but they've chosen to push that under the proverbial rug and move along as if nothing happened.

Rett is currently back home in Holly Grove Island as Dakota and Dexter have asked he and Sin to help them plan their wedding in a matter of weeks instead of months. For these two people that don't see eye to eye very often, they are forced to put their differences aside and work together to ensure their friends have the wedding they have always dreamed of. Will they be able to do it and will they possibly learn new things about one another in the process?

I really enjoyed how we got to see these characters realize that the people they thought they knew had changed quite a bit since the time they were in high school. Both Sin and Rett had been through difficult and formative events during high school and now that they are adults, things are much different and they aren't the same people they used to be. Those events changed them and shaped them and they are better people for them, as they've learned and grown from them, as hard as they may have been. I appreciated how supportive Rett was of Sin and I also liked how the issues with the families were handled. It felt very realistic to me, which I always appreciate.

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series without a doubt. I have no doubt it is going to be as good as these first two have been!

I received an eARC from NetGalley and Forever in exchange for an honest review. Sinclair Buchanan is happy for her best friend, Dakota, and is going to help plan the wedding of her dreams. But a little voice in the back of her head reminds her that maybe, just maybe, she wants to find the kind of love Dakota has found. Now she's focused on her career, which is flourishing. The best man, and her high school nemesis, Garrett Davenport, swooped into town and claims to want to help with the wedding. His history of not wanting to settle down in any place with anyone, along with all the barbs they traded for years, makes Sinclair skeptical. Garrett was the bad boy, always in the principal's office, wanting to leave town as quickly as possible to never return. But now, at 37, he has been working on himself and his relationships for years. He's finally healed the damage in the relationships with his mom and stepdad and wants to show up for his best friend Dexter and his fiancée Dakota. It's going to take work to prove to Sinclair that he's changed, but he's up to the task. The only thing in their way is that one night five years ago that neither can seem to forget... Is Garrett ready to settle down? Can Sinclair learn to trust after her last boyfriend broke her heart?

The story sucked me in. Hate crush? Yes please. Reformed bad boy? My catnip. Spicy with a misleading cover? Absolutely. Strong FMC? There's nothing better. In this book I found a beautiful story of two people who'd known each other for decades but never really knew each other. It was the story of getting to know someone, despite their faults or your preconceived notions. Sinclair was an amazing, strong career woman who knew her worth and didn't need a man to show her that love is more important than career, she needed a man who respected who she was and loved her for her strength. And it was full of spice! (Can you say c*****less panties?) I would recommend this to fans of black romance, enemies to lovers, workplace romance, forced proximity, strong FMC, and spicy romance.

This was a book I got from Net Galley. Then I realized it was book two in a series. Funny thing was I already owned book one so I had to go read it first. I guess they could stand alone but it makes much more sense if you read them in order.

Sin and Rett were such a cute couple. They had this hate/crush relationship that started back in high school. I usually don’t like that sort of thing but this was done well. He wasn’t a bully and they gave each other equal amounts of grief.

It was clear that they had feelings for each other. I liked that they also still got on each other’s nerves as well. It wasn’t a smooth ride to happiness. I liked seeing each character grow in who they were and what they wanted.

The ending was perfect in my opinion. The chapters were short and allowed me to quickly breeze through the book. This was a really great read.

Definitely 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rett and Sin. I love those derivatives of the two main characters’ names.
They are like two cats hissing and growling at each other.
But as they plan a rush job on their friends’ marriage, their hissing turns to intense kissing.
I love the beachy NC setting and both Sin and Rett grow into their community and each other.
A bonus novella from Jeannie Chin is also included!

I loved this book! The second chance story presented here was heart-warming and funny. The characters were quirky and interesting. I loved Sin and kept hearing Whitley Gilbert (Different World) every time I read her part. Great set up for two stubborn people both in need of a genuine partner but with their own baggage to shed.

A small-town, childhood enemies to lovers romance? Sign. me. up!

Garrett and Sinclair were doomed from the moment they laid eyes on each other and it was apparent to everyone around them. It was so adorable reading their initial denial on page, accompanied with their full-out getting hot and bothered looking at their counterpart. Garrett was too far gone, we love to see it.

I enjoyed how well their familial issues were handled as well. This was a very nice read

Sinclair has directed all her attention to ensure the success of her career as realtor and her personal life has been pushed to the side. The upcoming wedding of her best friend has her not only wanting to be there in any way she can but she never expected that it would cause her to reflect if there is more to the way she has been living her life when the man she always seems to be at odds with and spent one night with comes back into her life.

Garrett wants to make amends with the past so he agrees to be his cousin’s best man and show everyone that he is not the person they remember. When he finds himself working with the woman who not only infuriates him but intrigues him the sparks fly and the complications begin.

This is a heartwarming story about love, family and overcoming the past. The attraction between them was never in question but I enjoyed seeing them work through all the challenges they faced and realize that by acknowledging their feelings they could work through everything else.

Sinclair and Rett (Garrett) are maid of honor and bestman at their friends' wedding and have to coordinate some things together. There is some past history between them but they haven't seen each other for a while. Some people they know think they'd be perfect together and would like to matchmake. There is a previous book about the friends who are getting married but you can understand this without having read it.

I liked the hero better than the heroine. He supports her career and puts her first when she suffers a personal loss and a career setback. But Sinclair is an award winning Judgy McJudgerson and a major hypocrite to boot. She has repeated thoughts that Rett is all wrong for her. She judges Rett for his behavior at high school (they're approaching forty now....), But it turns out that at high school, she also did things that hurt him. She judges Rett for his dating history or for what she imagines it to have been anyway as she sees him as a hit-and-run dater who takes nothing seriously and can't do long term. But it turns out that Sinclair's choices were the entire reason their past history was a one-night stand. Rett is thinking about taking business opportunity that would take him further away from his family and Sinclair judges him for it, despite her own professional ambitions. She judges him for his strained relationship with his stepfather and half-sister, despite having a very conflicted relationship with her own mother. Rett and Sinclair have a couples dynamic that repeats this pattern: Sin makes intimate advances, he responds, she thinks that he will cut and run, so she cuts and runs. If they have a disagreement her first instinct is to take her bag and leave. She judges Rett for being unable to commit, being unable to love, but it turns out it's always her holding back, not him. He's able to tell her he loves her, but she chokes on the whole thought. When he defends her to her mother she gets angry. At him.

Rett, are you sure you can't find anyone better than Ms. Moralist? She's the sort of person who will threaten divorce every time you argue about something.

Reading the book you understand where Sinclair gets it from. Her mother is a school principal and she wrote the book on Judgmental and Disapproving. Sinclair's mom keeps harping on her unmarried and childless state. She despises Rett for having been a troubled middle-schooler once, and at the dinner table she badmouths the past and present struggling students at her school. I am sure she was an absolute nightmare throughout her entire career as an educator. There is an eventual reconciliation with Sinclair but I'm not sure I bought the sincerity of her remorse that happened overnight.

This is written in a third person narrative and contains some sexual content. I liked the voluntarily childless aspect. Not everyone needs to have triplets by the time the book ends.

The story ended a little abruptly at 70%, (perhaps it felt abrupt just because I wasn't expecting it to end yet?) and there is a bonus story by another author.

I received a Netgalley copy and this is a voluntary review.

Return to Hummingbird Way by Reese Ryan is the second book of her Holly Grove Island Series and an absolutely wonderful love story!! ❤️

Sinclair and Rett (Garrett) are enemies since they were teenagers... but 5 years ago everything changed and hate turned into a very hot night for them both.
Now they meet again because both have to organise the wedding of their best friends as maid-of-honor and best man.
After all this time will it be possible for Sin and Rett to work professionally together to help their friends with their wedding?
And if they've to spend so much time together... what about the feelings from years ago?

OMG! I LOOOOOVED THIS BOOK!
Sin and Rett are like cats and dogs! Soooo oppositional but they've a lot in common too!
I devoured their story and absolutely enjoyed this special storyline!
There were so many ups and downs and turnarounds!
It was wonderful to be back in Holly Grove Island. Felt like I met some old friends again!
I'm so thankful for the special mood this book put me in. ❤️
It warmed my heart and soul and I just fell in love with the characters.
It easy to fall in love with Rett - but Sin is not exception. She's such an inspiring, strong and independent woman!
It was wonderful to see that this love story had a different kind of HEA.
Not everyone needs to have the same dreams or needs to live up to the high expectations of family or society... it's great to stay true to yourself and the things you want. It's even better when your partner wants the same things.

Okay... enough of this emotional talking! 😅🥰❤️
RETURN TO HUMMINGBIRD WAY is a brilliant love story full of emotions, love, friendship, family, joy, sadness, drama, happiness and all the things the real life got for everyone of us. ❤️

Thank you so much to Reese Ryan and Forever Grand Central Publishing for this ARC via NetGalley.

I always love a new Reese Ryan book, and Return to Hummingbird Way - the sequel to Second Chance on Cypress Lane, in the Holly Grove Island series - is another beautiful story from a favorite author.

I read both of these books back-to-back… because I’m a procrastinator! I bought Cypress Lane 2 years ago when it was first released but didn’t manage to get it to the top of my reading list until I had the ARC of book 2 in-hand. Reading them together was actually perfect, because after I finished the first, I was desperate to know how Sin’s story was going to play outI would definitely suggest you do the same, to read them straight through together.

Sin and Rett (Sinclair and Garrett) have never been friends - their best friends and cousin were a couple, so they were always together because they had to be, to spend time with Dakota and Dexter. They “accidentally” spent a night together of angry passion a few years ago (when they ran into each other at a work thing), but they have both decided to forget it, and carry on as enemies. Rett doesn’t even live in town anymore. When they end up having to plan a short-notice wedding for Dakota and Dex, all their plans go out the door and they have to be nice again.. which isn’t easy in a town like theirs or a job like theirs.

It was great, like every Reese Ryan book I’ve read! I highly recommend this book, but definitely read book one first. You need the background on the characters, the town and island, and the friends.

I received an advance review copy from NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and this is my honest feedback.

This is the second book in the Holly Grove series, but I think it could easily be read as a stand alone book. In this second book in the series enemies Rett and Sin are brought together when their best friends Dex and Dakota (featured couple from book one) ask for their help planning their wedding. Sin and Rett are secret “hate crushes” from high school, they were both attracted to each other and hated each other in equal measure. Sin is a detailed successful real estate agent and on the side interior designer and event planner who loves her hometown and vows never to leave. Rett is a former troubled youth turned respectable real estate agent, who has done all he can to avoid spending time back home. These two are opposites in almost every way, yet everyone around them keeps telling them they are perfect for each other. This story was a very realistic depiction of what a grown up relationship looks like, and the trials and issues that mature adults face when it comes to building a relationship. Both of these main characters experienced a lot of growth in this story, as they worked to figure out what a happily ever after meant for them. This was a great book, and I look forward to reading the next book in this series, as I am a huge fan of secret best friend crush stories. I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.

I absolutely loved every minute of this book! It’s a very touching, small town, enemies to lovers romance.

Garrett and Sinclair were perfect for each other, according to everyone in town. I love that they’d secretly pined for each other since they were kids and referred to each other as a hate-crush. For some reason that was really cute to me! Their relationship was mature from start to finish which is an huge plus for me! I stan a book that opts for good adult communication rather than the third act breakup than gives the MCs a sudden epiphany! It was a nice touch that Rett was the one stopping Sun from walking away from hard conversations. We love a man who’s not scared to do the work a relationship takes!

Amongst Rett and Sin’s beautiful love story, we also get intertwining stories of friendship and family. The story goes on a journey with the MCs as they learn new things about themselves, each other, and the town they grew up in. It felt like a true grown and sexy novel, emphasis on the grown! There was banter without immaturity. Disagreements without dramatics. This was well done, an easy 5⭐️

I read this book as an arc via NetGalley!

I requested this ARC thinking it was a sequel to a book I’ve read. It was a happy mistake and I got to enjoy a new author. This is a sequel (Holly Grove Island #2) but I read easily as a stand alone. The book begins with Sinclair (Sin) Buchanan organizing the engagement party for her best friend (the couple from the first book). She is the maid of honor and the best man is going to be Garrett (Rett) Davenport. Sin and Rett have hated and crushed on each other since their teens. And one night five years ago they hooked up. Now the wedding date is getting moved up to only weeks out and their friends are relying on them to help everything go smoothly.

Sin is a very successful real estate agent on the island with hopes of buying into her the agency where she works. Rett’s grandmother is planning to downsize and wants him to freshen up the house getting it ready for Sin to sell. Sin also gets to be the designer showing the house. Both have some family issues going on that they help each other with. They are very adult in the way they act, talk and care for each other. (She doesn’t want to leave the island, he has job offers elsewhere.) I like that there is no big miscommunications and they are there for one another. This is what an adult relationship should look like, seeing if two people who care about each can find a way make it last. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Books and I’m leaving a voluntary review.

My ARC came with a bonus novella from Jeannie Chin. I have previously read the novella from the publisher as I have read the Blue Cedar Falls series. The novella comes between books #1 and #2. It can be read on it’s own if you aren’t familiar with the series.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.
Reese Ryan is one of those authors that almost never fails to impress me with her take on familiar tropes, even those I’ve often grown tired of, and that’s definitely the case here.
At first, I wasn’t sure how to feel about the “hate crush” (with elements of “hate hookup”) that was going on, and fully expected this book to be a fairly standard read. Throw in some bits about a temporary fling, and I was even more wary. But, this book ended up doing some interesting things with those tropes. The backstory between Sin and Rett is much more complicated, rooted in their complex family dynamics, especially Sin’s.
And it was getting to know them and seeing them come to get over the things that kept them at odds and apart in the past that made me love them and root for them. Sin comes from an interracial family, and her mother particularly puts a lot of pressure on her kids to do well in all aspects. Sin is doing well career-wise, but she’s constantly chafing against her mother’s nagging about her marrying well and having kids (even if Sin isn’t sure she wants that) and measuring her success against her sister’s. Rett’s family situation is similarly fraught, with him having dealt with the loss of his father and his mother’s remarriage, and as a result feels closer to his grandmother. They have some truly lovely moments together where they help and support each other through rough patches in their interactions with their respective families, and each of those moments contributed to sealing the deal for me that they were indeed a good match.
This is another winner from Reese Ryan, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for diverse small-town romance.

Sinclair and Garett have an interesting and complicated history. Known each other since they were children, had an antagonistic chemistry but having friends in commun forced them to spend time together. He thought she was to haughty and was an ass in high school, pissed at the world for losing his dad and especially his mom for remarried. Years ago,Sinclair and Rett had a one-night stand and never talked about after. Now they have to team up for their friends's wedding. Rett is also in Holly Grove Island to help at his grandma's house. The woman took him under her wings when he was a troubled youth. In the time they spend together, Sin and Rett will realize that being both real estate agent and their friends are not the only things they have in common. Sin will have to find a way to tell him her family to stop asking when she'll finally settle down and have kids. One of the best thing about this book is how, even if they're not used to communicate with each other, the MC doesn't tiptoe around serious subjects and talk like the mature people they are (mid-thirty) instead of the teens they used to be.

Reese Ryan has done it again. A romantic entanglement between former mortal enemies.

If you are looking for a storyline that touches on family dynamics, carrying around baggage and trying to find that elusive thing called love then Return to Hummingbird Way is the book for you. The story starts out rather slow in the beginning and I can attribute that to some of the backstory. One of the main character Sinclair was annoying and a little selfish in the beginning but her character began to evolve as the story progressed and she was able to shed some of that baggage she was carrying. Garrett was misunderstood by some but displayed a genuine love for Mama Mae that was very touching and will have you in your feelings. Mama Mae was a hoot and a half and will have you laughing at some of her matchmaking schemes.

This story gave you history, love had some moments that will make you think. Garrett was faced with things that occurred when he was a child that carried over into his adulthood. Overcoming that displayed his growth and perseverance as he got older.

You will love this journey to uncovering love and forgiveness.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Return to Hummingbird Way by Reese Ryan is a small town, enemies to lovers romance and second book to the Holly Grove Island. I personally have not read the first book and had no trouble following the story or the characters, so this book can definitely be read as a standalone. I loved how Sinclair and Garret hated each other but they were still pinning for the other. I thought that their chemistry was really well done and that they were a great couple and perfect for each other. The character growth was well developed and I loved the communication this book gave us, it was refreshing to see. The story made sense and it kept my attention, I loved reading about the small town aspect of this book. The ending was perfect and it left me satisfied with the story. I really recommend this book and can’t wait to see what else this author writes.

HS frenemies are forced into planning their BFFs wedding

Sinclair (Sin) Buchanan & Garrett (Rett) Davenport were part of a friends circle in HS, but they always put each other down or threw insults back and forth. Fast forward 17 years and Rett and Sin are thrown together to handle a rushed wedding between Rhett’s cousin and best friend, Dexter… and Sin’s best friend, Dakota.

This is a wonderful romance that truly develops over a short period of time between two people who have to overcome what they once were and recognize the individuals they are now, their grown, mature, and sexy selves.

Loved the meddling grandmother, Mama Mae, and Sin’s ability to hear, help and guide those she cared about…. Izzy, Dakota, Rett… but she didn’t let many in to help and guide her until Rett stared breaking down her walls.

A feel good romance with just enough angst to keep the reader engaged but not anxious.

Garrett has returned to his hometown on Holly Grove Island to help his cousin plan his wedding in seven weeks. Sinclair is the bridesmaid helping her best friend. That means that Rett and Sin have to work together despite a troubled history from high school.

This is a lovely story with a mix of old enemies-to-lovers, second chance, and he falls first. Rett made choices as a teenager that hurt those he loved. It was neat to see his character development. Indeed, this was a very character focused book with growth for both of them.

I loved that the main characters weren't super young. But I didn't enjoy the frequent fixation that they were getting old since they were only 35.

This book can stand alone. However, given how much it centers on Dakota and Dexter's wedding, I do recommend reading that first.

Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. These opinions are my own.

This is Sinclair Buchanan and Garrett Davenport.journey. They had a mutual hate crush in high school, and now they are working together to create the wedding of their friend's dream.
They bring their baggage with them, and face the things that happened, mistakes were made, but the chemistry they have leaps from the pages.
This is a story of friendship, love, forgiveness, Garrett thought he had really messed things up, when he told Sinclair's parents, how they make Sinclair feel. This is a journey, and they decided to follow it, and see where they end up. Reese Ryan, tells their story, that you can feel all that they are going through. It flowed along, taking me with them.

I am a lover of all things romance and the way that Ms. Reese Ryan writes it draws me in everytime. With "Return to Hummingbird Way" we are revisiting the Holly Grove Series. I enjoyed the first book in the series and knew Sinclair would be a firecracker. She did not fail me!!

The hateship between Sinclair and Garrett was truly comical, but that is usually the case with deep affection. They both had to find a way to deal with does feelings to make their bestfriends wedding a success.

They both faced lingering issue of the past and had to grow and heal throughout this novel. I love we got to work through them as well as they uncovered old hurt and grew to be better as they connected to one another.

They were able to navigate past hurts help one another heal with the support of each other. I love Rhett's grandmother and was happy that she was in support of the hateship to loveship journey.

I am happy Rhett was able to find stability and happiness with Sinclair, while mending overdue family bonds. I'm happy she finally spoke her truths to her love ones, as well. Their love story was firey and explosive, but also gentle and kind. They were truly a great pairing. I won't ruin the book, but I hope Sinclair later changes her mind on how she feels about a certain subject. I can't wait to get our next installment from the two best friends.

The book was a little longer than necessary in my humble opinion, as there was a lot of repetitive subjects, but it was fun catching up with everyone and sad to see it come to an end till next time.

Thank you Ms. Ryan, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and Netgalley. This is my most humble opinion for exchange of this free ARC.

This is the second of two books in a series; first was Second Chance on Cypress Lane. I have not read the first title but had no trouble following along in this one.

This is a novel that uses a well known trope of romantic/women’s fiction. An old rivalry/connection with someone who seemed to be in the past comes to the forefront. This is what happens with Sinclair and Rett (that is surely a name that brings romance to mind as in Mr. Butler, even if that had a different spelling).

The two are reunited when they become involved in a mutual friend’s wedding. Readers may feel that they know where this story is going. That is okay. This is just a relax and enjoy it kind of story. It will be savored by those who like small town romances.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Forever Grand Central for this title. All opinions are my own.

A small town enemies to friends and maybe more romance that is a truly fun read. Sinclair is thrilled to be her best friends maid of honor. She gets to flex her planning skills while making sure the day is everything her BFF wants it to be. What she didn’t expect was that Rett, her sworn mortal enemy is not only going to be there, but that she has to be up close and personal with him for a multitude of reasons. Will they be able to set aside their issues to make the wedding perfect, dealing with a lot of nosy and invasive family and friends while renovating a home, not killing each other, fighting their undeniable chemistry, and their own issues with trust and what they know about each other? A fun well written read that has me looking forward to the next in the series.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley.com in exchange for a fair and honest review.
