Melissa Storm is a New York Times and multiple USA Today bestselling author of Women’s Fiction, Inspirational Romance, and Cozy Mysteries.

Despite an intense, lifelong desire to tell stories for a living, Melissa was “too pragmatic” to choose English as a major in college. Instead, she obtained her master’s degree in Sociology & Survey Methodology—then went straight back to slinging words a year after graduation anyway.

She loves books so much, in fact, that she married fellow author Falcon Storm. Between the two of them, there are always plenty of imaginative, awe-inspiring stories to share. Melissa and Falcon also run a number of book-related businesses together, including LitRing, Sweet Promise Press, Novel Publicity, Your Author Engine, and the Author Site.

When she's not reading, writing, or child-rearing, Melissa spends time relaxing at her home in the Michigan woods, where she is kept company by a seemingly unending quantity of dogs and two very demanding Maine Coon rescues. She also writes under the names of Molly Fitz and Mila Riggs.

The characters just didn’t add up for me. She’s trying to do a designing business out of a small apartment in NY and supposedly has enough stuff in there to hire an assistant to inventory it. He is living lifestyle of rich and famous but has no money. He works for his father and apparently doesn’t get paid??? Does what his father tells him to do and has no backbone. Close to 30 years old and finally starts waking up when he meets her. Wouldn’t be a fan of corgi glitter either.

MAJOR Plot spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.

I will say that going into this story my expectations weren’t to high for it. I just needed something to read to get me out of this reading slump that I have been in the last few days or so. So I just wanted some light and fluffy with an interesting premise to it. I have to say that this one pleasantly surprised me. I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I was going to. I thought it was cute, sweet, and tender, and very romantic. It made me smile quite a few times.

I think the most enjoyable thing about this story was the character of Ruby. I loved her so much. I loved her confidence mixed in with insecurity. I loved her attitude. I loved the positivity that she wanted to bring to the world with her fashions by showing everyone they were beautiful no matter what size they were. I loved how driven she was. I just loved her whole aura. She was a very refreshing and bright sunshine character. I loved when she modeled her own designs on her date with Brandon, showing the beautiful plus size woman that she truly was, and I loved that so much.

As for Brandon, even though I did like him for the most part, I didn’t like how much under his father’s thumb that he was. He was willing to follow his father’s rules even though they were making him absolutely miserable. It was like he needed his father’s permission to do anything, and that wasn’t attractive. Granted that was his conflict, however once her met beautiful Ruby he decided to grow up and be the man that she deserved. What loved about that was that he wouldn’t be with Ruby until he could be the best man that he could be so he could truly deserve her. I really liked seeing him have that revelation and using his meeting Ruby make the push for him to change his life for the better.

Aside from that, I did love him with her, and how sweet he was. I loved he nervous around her, yet yearning to spend all this time that he could with her because she made him happy. He did some very romantic things for her like after her first press conference, he sent her flowers and food to her apartment, which was in New York while in his own place in L.A. he had the same so they could have a date night together over like FaceTime type of thing. I thought that was pretty sweet and adorable. Just how much he showed that he wanted to be with her was really nice I thought especially considering Ruby was a little hesitant about it since he was this hot, fit guy while she was this beautiful plus size girl with Ruby believing he would never want to be with her because of that. They were opposites, but that was what made them work as a couple. He pursued her to show his interest without being too pushy. I liked that.

Another adorable character was Diamond the corgi. She was so stinking cute and adorable. I loved seeing her interactions with Ruby and Brandon. I loved the part where Diamond got jealous when Ruby and Brandon were kissing, and she jumped in the middle to break them apart then put sloppy kisses on Ruby’s cheeks. Diamond was quite a character. I loved that dog.

I will say that since this was a shorter format length wise then some things weren’t as explored as much, making the pacing feel a little rushed at times especially in the development of Brandon and Ruby’s relationship. They had been spending time talking, texting, and video chatting over the course of time, causing them to have this long distance relationship. The problem was that I didn’t see all those interactions that they had so it was hard for me to see them falling for each other like they did so when the declarations of “I Love Yous” came I didn’t buy it so much. I may have given an eye roll as soon as they said it because I didn’t believe it. I think if they said to each other that they were falling in love with each other, I would have bought that more than the actual I love you part. That’s just my personal feeling.

The story did peter out a little bit for me once Ruby and Brandon became paparazzi fodder. I get why it became issue, but then I didn’t either. I almost had a so what attitude. I didn’t think they should have let the world tell them that they shouldn’t be dating because they looked different and others had preconceived of what the motives were for them hanging out together. I hated that people stuck their nose in when it wasn’t their business in the first place. Ruby and Brandon were happy together and that was the most important thing. Everybody else could just screw off in my opinion. So, I didn’t like that was what caused them to break up in the first place. Though I will admit I did see it coming, but I did hope that wasn’t going to be the case then when it did I was slightly disappointed because I thought they were a bit stronger than that to keep them being separated. Now what kept them apart was valid. Brandon really did need to grow up and find his own way in the world because he could be with Ruby in the way she deserved. That worked for me.

Overall I was pretty impressed with this story. It was a little tamer than I was used to, but that was okay because that was what I was in the mood for. It worked for me in this circumstance. The story was good. It was sweet and lovely. I loved the romantic dates that they went on even when they were at times long distance. It was a nice friendship that built into something more. They did get to know each other even though not every long distance interaction was shown, and it took them the course of time to do, though it didn’t feel like that, which made it have a slightly rushed pace to their relationship. I just didn’t a hundred percent believe that they were in love since I didn’t see it with my own eyes though those interactions that they had. I felt they were more at the stage of falling in lobe than actually being in love. That felt a tad rushed for me. I didn’t like the paparazzi part, even though I understood why it was in there, I just felt like that was when the story dipped a little bit for me. I didn’t like Brandon being his father’s toy that basically told him what Brandon could and couldn’t do with all kinds of rules despite the fact that Brandon was a grown man. Yes, Brandon needed to man up, but it was weird to see Brandon let his father treat him this way and allowing for so long. The wake up call was Ruby herself, and I appreciate the transformation that Brandon made in order to be the best man he could be for Ruby. I adore Ruby and Diamond, who had made personalities. I loved the confidence and attitude. I liked their bond. Ruby and Diamond were best parts of this book I think. I loved their stories being told, even beyond the romance. This was just a really sweet read that I enjoyed more than I ever thought I was going to, making this win in my book. Hopefully this got me out of my reading slump.

Flirting with the Fashionista is the first book in The Celebrity Corgi Romances series. Melissa Storm did it again with this entertaining romance. It is a cute, lighthearted story with realistic characters and situations. Ruby is a talented fashion designer who creates attractive clothes for plus sized women like herself. She is used to people’s comments about her proportions, but that does not stop the hurt. Brandon Price is heir to his father’s empire and forced to be the face of the fitness and supplement business. Every aspect of Brandon’s life has been controlled with no room for fun. Then Brandon meets Ruby. She is a confidant, joyful woman with an adorable Corgi named Diamond. Brandon gets to enjoy new experiences with Ruby. With Brandon and Ruby’s relationship we can see how cruel people can be on social media. I could feel Ruby and Brandon’s struggles and emotional turmoil. I like the humor that was peppered throughout the story which had me giggling. Diamond was a delightful addition to the story. He is a cute and clever Corgi. I liked the following phrase from Flirting with the Fashionista “celebrate your body as it is because no body’s perfect.” Whether you are size 2 or size 22, you are beautiful and special. Body positivity and empowering young people are messages featured in this story. I like that we are introduced to Lissa Walker, racecar driver, who will be featured in Digging the Driver. Flirting with the Fashionista is a delightful romance with a darling Corgi, empowering messages, fantastic fashions, witty commentary, and relatable characters.

Cute romance that has major Hallmark channel vibes. The main couple click well, and I love the corgi. A very sweet but sexy romance that makes you smile.

A virtual book club suggested that we read a book with the word “Girl” in the title, so on my Kindle I found A Girl’s Best Friend:A Sweet Opposites-Attract Romance by Melissa Storm. It is a sweet romance. 3 stars

It's a horrid cold and wet day today so a perfect reading day. I chose this as a quick and easy read. Chick lit! A fat girl and her dog. I thought it would be funny. To be honest it was dire. Complete rubbish. It passed a few hours for me, that's about it! Sorry.

Another awesome book by Melissa Storm. She writes awesome books that hit on real situations. Ruby is a plus-size woman and fashion designer. She gets her break when one of her designs hits the red carpet. Problem is, Ruby does not handle the public and reporters well. Ruby also has this adorable Corgi named Diamond who is an awesome companion. Ruby meets health nut phenom, Brandon Price, at a party, they hit it off. Ruby is not used to a man's attention but the attraction goes both ways. After Brandon's father makes some off comments, Brandon decides it is time to leave the family business and prove himself to Ruby that he really likes her for her, not a challenge. Loved this animal companion read. Cannot wait to read the next book in the series. Our first family dog that I can remember growing up was a Corgi that was absolutely lovable and loyal. Brought back many memories of our wonderful dog.

Get ready for this wonderful new series and the stories that goes along with these funny and loving dogs. I love reading books when the story includes such wonderful furbabies who help their humans in their daily life overcome obstacles in their path. Ruby has always been plus size and a wonderful designer and now her career has taken off like crazy and she is constantly on the go with her corgi. She doesnt want to open up for love because of her past so her busy life is perfect for her. Will she give in to this stranger whom is attracted to her who is stirring up those feelings of love or will she push him away and leave that empty feeling in her heart. Grab your copy today and enjoy this new series.

I had my doubts about this new series. I really enjoy books where animals play a role. And corgi's are really cute. But I'm not so much a fan of celebrity or billionaire books.
But I wanted to try it anyway.
At least where this book is concerned, I shouldn't have worried. It is written by Melissa Storm. And she knows how to portray real people with real emotions and struggles. And this book is no exception.
I really enjoyed this story!

While this novel introduces the reader to a Corgi, the story is really about Ruby, a size 16 fashionista and Brandon, the face and physique of a large business conglomerate based on looks. Ruby and Brandon have different life philosophies, but find they have many things in common. While he could be described as Adonis in his looks and physical body, Ruby is happy with herself and her size 16 body type. Both are judged by the media and cruel insults appear in many papers and magazines. How they handle the criticism is a learning opportunity.
This story teaches the reader the importance of loving one's self and not allowing outside influences to define who you are.
Flirting With the Fashionista is a clean romance that addresses the issue of weight in a compassionate and uplifting message. Of course, there is an HEA ending for Ruby and Brandon.

Ruby Ross is a Plus sized woman who designs fashions that make the plus sized women look fabulous! One of the people that she designed a dress to walk the Red Carpet in Hollywood won an award as the best dressed attending the awards show. A fashion empire woman offers Ruby a position that would enable her to be the woman to have a chain of plus sized stores and she and her Corgi have it made. She meets Brandon Price son of a man that has a chain of fitness and nutrition centers and he is body beautiful but as a spokesperson for his father's health and fitness chain when then met at a party and began seeing each other the public ripped them apart! This is all about feeling good about who you are. Enjoy!

A Girl's Best Friend (Corgi Romances #1) was a great read by Melissa Storm.Ruby Ross just signed the deal of a lifetime for her plus sized fashions to be in retail stores across the country. She is always on the go with her faithful Corgi Diamond. Brandon Price is the heir to his father's enormous fitness and supplement empire which keeps him constantly in the public eye.He was assigned to serve as the face of the brand but never asked if its what he wanted. When he met Ruby Ross he realized that he wanted more out of his life. She isn’t looking for a relationship but has a hard time staying away from Brandon. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.

Oh my gosh, this book is just so stinking cute. I loved Ruby and her body positive attitude. I also loved that she was the one in charge of her life no matter what was going sideways in it. Brandon was so endearingly clueless. He’s a full-grown adult but still doesn’t know quite what he wants to do with it. This gives me hope that maybe someday I’ll know what I’m doing too. And Diamond is such a character. She spawned my favorite line of the whole book. I’m going to using “corgi glitter” all the time now.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher as part of a box set.

sugar sweet romance

Ruby is an up-and-coming fashion designer (with a Corgi best friend called Diamond).

Brandon is a lazy billionaire’s son model who spends his days abiding by his father’s strict rules.

They seem like an unlikely couple. But somehow it’s love at first sight for him, and he will do anything to convince Ruby he can change to win her heart.

And in turn, he helps her conquer the media world.

Good premise for a sweet romance. And overall it’s a nice story, but about 75% in it just becomes too much sugar and not enough bite. That’s a shame because it’s good apart from that.

Great Valentine love story!

Even though this isn't Valentine's related story it is a sweet romantic one. It all starts when up and coming, plus-size fashion designer, Ruby Ross meets hunky male spokesman, Brandon Price, for Body by Price at a party. Sparks fly and Brandon is hooked. Now he has to go about convincing Ruby that he is worthy of her love. Does the course of true love ever go smoothly?

Ruby Ross is the rising plus-size fashion designer and her best friend is her cute corgi called Diamond. Brandon is the heir to his father’s enormous fitness and supplement empire and when these two meet, they could be a powerful duo. But only if his father allows him to live his life ✨

This was a cute, light-hearted read that I enjoyed. The main characters were likeable and I’m really pleased the dad came around by the end.

This is a fun romance between the plus sized fashion designer, Ruby, and the heir to his father's fitness empire, Brandon. These two are opposites but their attraction is real. The path to true love is never smooth and these two have their ups and downs but they eventually get their HEA. Diamond, Ruby's constant companion is the star of the show.

Very good

Melissa Storm is one of my favorite authors. I love the way she weaves the personality of the Corgi, Diamond into the story. A great reminder to be yourself rather than allowing others to control you and how you feel about self worth. This is a short read that is relaxing and will leave you smiling.

Curves count!

Cute story. It is interesting to note that most romance
books picture a svelte woman and a well developed male. In reality, there are more girls with curves than not. Bravo Melissa for highlighting the curvy woman! The dog was cute too!!

Enjoyed reading it but would have liked the story to go into more detail and basically be longer. Whilst I loved how the story went I think more could have been done to develop the characters aswell as their romance
