I liked this story...

My first time reading a book from this author made it more exciting cause I had no idea what i was getting myself into BUT since I jumped in without a care, i was also stunned by the very imact of it...and that ending...PUF!

Just as I was getting used to the push and pull between the two main characters, a conman and a professional criminal Ryske and a social worker Harlow Sweeting working on the "wrong" side of the town than she was actually brought up to...

These two were as unlikely to bond as possible...and I sometimes had difficulties grasping the lengths, Harlow went to exit her inner boundaries, just so she could prove to herself that she's living the life different from the mold her family envisioned for her...so I kind of couldn't really see her true actions as her own, but as a spite...sort of...and then she just so easily slipped into the "wild" life of Ryske and his crew of cons (Dover, Noon and Maze)...
"Go with it," he said, seeking cufflinks. "It's what us on this side of town do."

yeah, it's easier said than done...when the chemistry between the two hits the roof, and things go haywire with all the feels BUT also the resistence and reluctance from Ryske, cause of his obvious lifestyle and the fact that he can't give Harlow any of the promises she needs and deep down inside wants, and thrives...so all this push and pull of sexual tension and caressing was just living in a moment, a glimpse of "what could have been and should have been" if the circumstances were different...but "go with it" can only last so long...just like the given moment!

A new series to enjoy

If an injured man bumps into you
and tells you to run what would you do? Harlow Sweeting does what she has always done and stays to help, thus she meets the man of her dreams although he's not perfect, Ryske is a rogue with a way with women and a crew that would die for each other would they allow a beautiful woman join them. Well finding out is a rollercoaster ride which keeps you wondering. A great tale with tension, humour and sex to keep you amused and leave you looking forward to part two. Really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next instalment

Harlow Sweeting was hoping to start over with a new life in the city, but she never expected the turn her life would take one night when she crosses paths with an injured man. By staying to help the bleeding man, Harlow unknowingly enters a new world filled with dangerous men who live life on the edge.
Ryske is unlike other book "heroes", yes he is domineering and roguish but it's done in a way that will make you fall for him. And his crew isn't too bad either ;)

If you're looking for a new romantic suspense series I would highly recommend this book.

Go With It was so much better than I expected. Let's be real - there are so many free romances, aren't there? Most are mediocre at best. Formulaic rubbish that could have been written by an AI. I read them because 1) I'm poor and 2) I have hormones (ugh) but my expectations are low.

Although it needs a little proofreading*, Go With It was definitely a diamond in the rough. It was much more than just a romance. The heroine forms relationships with the whole crew and becomes something like a den-mother which is fun to read but also quite touching.

Finn sums up the appeal of this kind of story beautifully.

"It wasn’t fair to be sarcastic when he was being honest. Ryske had a past, and so did she. Neither of them were virgins. Harlow’s contempt wasn’t judgement, she was smart enough to recognise that her response was rooted in jealousy. Her life had never been one of abandon like that where she’d have sex in an alleyway just because the moment called for it. Her life had been void of anything even close to adventure. Danger was a word used in books and movies. She’d never taken a risk in her life. Not a real one. Ryske and his crew were daring, living on the edge. In her studies, she’d read countless stories about people whose lives were cut short by prison or death because they chose that life. But it was attractive, alluring, exciting, interesting, all of the things her life hadn’t been."

I do have a few complaints, punctuation notwithstanding. I really don't like it when people refer to women as "females". It feels dehumanising somehow. Chapter Twenty-Six needs a rewrite. There is no need to have Harlow explain everything Ryske says to us over again. We know. We were there when he said it, all of two seconds ago. Also, some of Harlow's responses perplexed me. She explicitly doesn't consider someone who as particularly dangerous. And when Clyde puts her hand in his lap, and then strokes her face, she barely reacts. If one of my coworkers tried to put my hand in his lap, I'd have a whole shit ton to say about it, believe me.

I looked up the name Ryske and it means Crash in Finnish. A little Easter egg there and I love it. Also "Semantics gave her an out." My inner linguist enjoys this immensely.

HOT, dangerous and sexy, this book had me addicted from the first chapter. Complex characters, multiple story lines, I was on my toes trying to guess ahead at what was going to happen. It is completely different from everything I have ever read. You will LOVE this book from the beginning. If you like contemporary romantic suspense, laugh out loud dialogue and need a new book family and a whole lotta HOT, alpha male book boyfriends, this one is definitely for you.

Harlow was coming back. she walks away from work when an injured man stumbles upon her. She does not hesitate to help him and that is how she ends up entangled with Ryske, a criminal. She has always longed for adventure and boy does Ryske give it to her. But the one thing he can't promise her is the future she wants.
The end just wow.

I loved it!

When Ryske runs into Harlow one night, her life changes. Ryske and his crew of grifters live their lives on the edge of danger where the payoff is high but the risk is higher.
The storyline is one of intrigue with twists you don’t see coming. Sob! The characters are great and the witty banter is fab. It’s a great start to the series and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

My first read by this author and what a ride she took me on. Emotional, captivating and with a suspenseful edge. Harlow's plan is to start fresh in a new city, not to find love but helping an injured man on the street might just lead her to find something important when she least expects it.

Unexpected ending!

Harlow Sweeting comes from an upscale family and chose to veer from their expectations of what a woman 's place is, supporting her husband. She chose to work in the city as a social worker and continue working on a other degree. Until one night, she crashes into a hurt Ryske and her life changes forever. The chemistry between them two was palpable but so frustrating because Harlow always put on the brakes before things went further than what she felt comfortable with. I loved the relationship she had with the crew; Dover, Noon and Maze. I am still confused about all that made up the consortium with Hagan, just because Harlow was told the info in bits and pieces. It is a slow burn romance, so don't expect a lot of steamy scenes in this book. Definitely, looking forward to next book!

This book had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The action and suspense, had me turning page after page, to find out what happens next. Loved all the characters in this book, and can’t wait to read what happens next...

When Ryske runs into Harlow, her whole world changes. He’s so unlike anyone she has ever met. She knows he’s dangerous, but wants to help him.

Will she survive her encounter with this handsome stranger?

"Harlow had been falling for this guy since the moment he'd fallen on her. Fighting it would've been smart, distancing herself would've been safer."

I shared the teaser for this book on the blog because the snippet sucked me right in and clicked it immediately upon release. Once I started, there was no putting it down. Harlow and Ryske captured me, and I'm so glad I stumbled across this Author and kind of kicking myself for not finding her sooner. Ryske is a conman, and their chance meeting had my heart pumping and fluttering simultaneously...the story just flew from there. Harlow being from a totally different world left her with so much doubt, and her trying to fight off the smooth talking, gloriously sexy Ryske was a joy to read. Their banter had me giggling, and inhaling the words as fast as humanly possible. I became sorely invested in Ryske, Harlow, and all the crew and they became vivid and real in my head. Is it weird that I heard an accent everytime Ryske used Harlow's pet name? Dunno, but the ending left me reeling and I'm so appreciative that I was able to jump right in to the next because I couldn't handle not knowing. Bingeworthy and addictive, and I hope beyond hope that once Harlow and Ryske's story is complete that we get to read the other's in the crew someday. Love, love, loved it!!

Harlow and Ryske are opposites in every way. The main one is she is from an upscale family and he is a criminal. Fate has stepped in and causes them to meet. This meeting is a huge rush of emotion, an injury, one protecting the other. A chance to help the injured party leads to feelings.

Harlow has fought her feelings for Ryske for a while, but eventually he breaks past her defenses and there is a ton of emotion involved. But he tells her repeatedly from the beginning it cannot be more than what it is. One is not good for the other. There is nothing that can be done about that.

Suddenly taken Harlow is used as a pawn. Ryske has inside information and they are able to escape. This draws them together and more solid. There is a lot of signs that should be warning them away from one another, but fate brought them together twice now, don’t think it stops there. Oh no, they draw together and push away over and over again. Watching Harlow (aka Trinket or Trink) and Ryske (aka Crash – from the beginning of the book) interacting and weaving the feelings that appear is fun, frustrating, humorous and aggravating all wrapped up.

Feelings deepen, but feelings are shattered – it really was only supposed to be a protective action. Only there is hurt, and alcohol added to hurt can lead to a show, and what a show it is.

The only spoiler alert I will give is the ending of this book is not at all what would be expected.

This book was such a tease. Harlow and Ryske interaction with each other are what kept the book flowing. The story line was great, but this two need to just give it up already. Not on each other.

This was so good! The author had my emotions all over the place. Harlow wants to help people but she is in no way ready for Ryske and his crew. Those guys were so hard not to fall in love with. I was kept guessing through out this book and never saw the ending coming. *I received a copy for my honest opinion.*

Nothing about this book makes sense.

Why is fat acceptance a tag when I'm 76% in and have seen zero mention of fat characters? I guess there was a mention of large breasts? But those are not fat girl exclusive ánd the cover is of a very skinny woman.

Why does the heroine crawl into bed (literally, not sexually) with the dude she doesn't know within a couple of days of kinda sorta being flirted with?

Why does she blindly accept all this criminal nonsense she's been thrust into?

Why does she keep saying no to sex with this man she's clearly attracted to and cares for a great deal?

Why did the author think it's okay for the heroine to say no to sex multiple times while the hero is actively having sex with her? That teaches terrible lessons about consent. This book is 18+ but 18 yos (and 20yos and 25yos) can still be insecure and naive and take the wrong message from this.

Also why did they have to use a handjob and oral sex as ways to avoid "technically" having sex? It's very cisheteronormative to assume only penetrative sex using a penis and vagina counts as sex. This story really didn't need that.

Why is the hero's name Ryske? That sure was a choice. I kept pronouncing it in my head as ree-su-keh to avoid getting distracted.

Where did the doctor go? He was such a big part of the first 25% and the heroine calls him her friend and then she never speaks to him or think about him again.

The scene with Clyde - why?

And for that matter, Ryske punching the wall above the heroine's head. He did that, right? I am not confusing two books?

The heroine making 0.01% effort to make friends, then complaining how hard it is to make friends, only to effortlessly fall into this pre-established friend group. Also why are all the women besides the heroine either love rivals, antagonistic or dead? Combined with the "hehe I don't mind that these guys don't clean up after themselves, I loooove having them around and doing all the housework for them" gives real mysogyny. And no wonder your ex-fiance thought being a housewife would make you happy if you act like this. (He's still a complete jackass for taking away her contraception and being domineering.)

The heroine's pain kink made me uncomfortable but that's not a book problem, merely a book-reader mismatch.

There's also some derogatory words, potentially slurs.

And so much infodump.

The fight at the end? There is no way after all this time they're still so insecure and distrustful of each other to think none of it was real. This was so much drama for drama's sake, not worth my time. And they do it to themselves, fuck up their own lives.

The writing is decent but there is very little plot, the characters are ridiculous and it's just a big mess. The ending was a complete flop. I was gonna DNF a bunch of times but somehow persevered. Sunk cost and all that. And I am hella confused at all the positive ratings. Maybe they are just here for the sexual tension. Idk.

I don't want to be reminded this book exists.

I have been given this book Go With It by the author Scarlett Finn as an ARC, in exchange for my honest feedback and review.

Harlow Sweeting works as a family support officer, helping less fortunate families. She likes a good challenge and wants to make a difference in life. After leaving her life of privilege behind, living in a rough neighbourhood, and as naive as she is, she stumbles into the unsavory path of an injured man. Having two choices... leave him to bleed out and die, or get them both out of there. There was no choice, she made it her mission to help. She is able to escape harm with the injured man, by challenging some thugs, giving them an ultimatum, saving them both.

The man is named Ryske or Crash as she nicknamed him, he calls her Trink or Trinket.

Ryske has some rough, loyal, criminal friends, his family as such. The four band of brothers, do not trust anyone but come to know and like Harlow. They are always moving from one scheme to the next mark.

The story has criminals, deceit, loyalty, admiration, friendship, rough scary men, dare I say possibly murder???? But does it have love??

Okay, let me break it down for you, let's get real..... there was a really big problem after chapter 1! I was literally in trouble. I could NOT put it down. The storyline held me captivated, hook, line and sinker. I would think about it even not reading it.

I loved the diversity with the characters. Even though the story centred around Harlow and Ryske, the other three of his criminal friends would be just as important. I enjoyed the friendly banter, some sexual in nature. I found the scenes were described so well, and the dialogue so believable, that the author gave me a front row seat in the story. I was totally engaged and immersed in the book.

Were there elements I would change in the book and things that didn't make sense?? No.

Were there any lulls or need to skip or skim words? No I read every single word.

I respect the author and her craft. I was disappointed, devastated and heartbroken when it finished. I wanted more.

I have read a few books ARC of Scarlett Finn and each time I happily ask for more x she has the ability to make me scream at the book in frustration and to yell noooooo alot.

I hope that you buy this book in support of the author. You will be guessing the whole way through and the outcome will shock you. You will not see it coming.

I give this book a solid 6/5*

What in the ever living hell was this? I’m just. What? Firstly, every book Scarlett Finn writes I compare to the Explicit series and every male character falls miles short of Rushe.

This was weird. I liked Harlow at the beginning but toward the middle and the end she lost me. Ryske was frankly ridiculous most of the time, their relationship felt flat to me. I didn’t really see the connection. There were a lot of similarities between Explicit and this, shady bar, mysterious man, random kidnapping. You know the drill. Except this felt really haphazard and weird. It didn’t flow as well.

I liked the crew and seeing how close they all were. But honestly their living arrangements sounds like my personal hell, also Ryske just was really odd to me. It felt like he took every chance to throw his promiscuity in Harlow’s face, maybe to remind her that he couldn’t give her what she wanted? I don’t know. Also what’s up with the nicknames, it really detracts something from the story when it feels rushed. Ryske - which I assume is pronounced risk - is far more suitable than “Crash” given his lackadaisical approach to his own safety.

The ending was unexpected I’ll give it that and I’m not a fan. Only because I am not that convinced by their relationship. Intrigued where it will go I’m going to try and hunt some spoiler filled reviews before I decide whether I’m going to jump into the next one.

The writing was great I just felt the plot was a little thin and the characters felt forced. There’s a scene where Harlow is with the man that stabbed Ryske in some kind of quasi-interrogation and she spends the entirety of it thinking about Ryske and how misunderstood he is. I don’t want to be judgemental but she came across a bit errr I can’t think of a word that isn’t plain rude so I’m going to leave it. Immature maybe? Which is bizarre as she had a six year relationship prior that was very close to marriage and is a freaking social worker. I’d think she would have more wherewithal.

A Wonderful Story to Read

Harlow is in for a surprise of her life. Social Work is not the most glamorous job or easy, but she feels like she's making a difference. Keeping herself out of trouble and working doesn't seem the hardest job to do, but it is taxing on one's soul when you see the heartbreak and suffering of others, especially children. When she decides to walk home, she never expected to meet up with a stranger, a stranger that needs help or could die right there on the sidewalk. Standing up to his attackers, running into a bar, staying with him, and his crew, she never imagined that it would change her life as well as her heart. What she didn't like are the games he seems to play with that heart, and she must decide if staying with him is worth all the hard work she has done to get to where she is. For his lifestyle and the job, she does do not mix with hers.
Ryske never thought this day would come when he needed the help of a small stranger and a woman that has no clue what his life is or what it entails. His attraction to the tiny woman he ran into saved his life, but it brings significant danger to her. Retreating away from her to save her life, but his heart and mind are at war with each other. He gives her an option to stay with him or run as far as she can from him and his lifestyle. His life will never be the same if she chose's to stay away, but he will respect that and keep an eye on her as well, for he has brought her into a world of pain and death, and to love her he must let her go and live the lifestyle she's known for a long time.
Go with it, is an enjoyable read from Scarlett Finn. It's written well, the characters as well defined, and it makes you want to turn every page to discover what is next.

This is book 1 in Finn's new series Go and I literally just finished it and am pacing my house in frustration. Did I love this book, yes, yes I did - I am super impressed with the narration done by Russell as well but OMG - that ending has me wanting to reach into this world and straighten everything and everyone out. That can. not. be. the. end - and I need more right now!

Okay, I think I can be objective now. Our main characters are Harlow and Ryske. Harlow comes from upper middle class and Ryske - not so much. Ryske is the dark and dangerous bad boy (con man) with a heart of gold when it comes to Harlow - and he comes with a crew of similar bad boys. When fate brings these two together in the most unlikely of ways. I adore their chemistry and I love the nicknames they have for each other as well as all of Ryske's flirting. With Ryske's profession danger is always right around the corner - proven by how he and Harlow meet. Great mystery with the con going on amongst the romance - smooth flowing storyline and great character and world building. I was so captivated and engaged by these characters I couldn't believe this book was as long as it was and like I said earlier - I need it continue as soon as possible! All the feels this book is definitely one i would recommend - once I know all the books are out and the entire story can be enjoyed.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

Captivated me from the start, and just kept drawing me down the rabbit hole. Fast-paced with constant intrigue with danger lurking around every corner it seems. Harlow and Ryske have this instant attraction when fate puts them in each other's path quite literally, but develop a push and pull relationship as Harlow attempts to keep him at arm's length. Every one can see what's between them, except them of course as they live in denial. Usually I'd get frustrated by the dragging out of their coming to terms, but the way it was written it kept my attention. Honestly I did wish we saw things from Ryske's perspective some. It's not first person, but comes from Harlow's personal points. But even so, again I was hooked. I can't give spoilers but it's an annoying cliffhanger, that Honestly tore me up. Now, if I didn't happen to have the 2nd book in ebook, and do a little skim cheating, I'd be ranting and raving over the end. But I calmed myself a little by sneaking ahead, because I'd be absolutely devastated otherwise. Narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Annoying MC

I'm not giving this book a lower review because there's nothing wrong with the actual writing it just wasn't for me. I didn't like the MC and I hated the love interest. I thought this was going to be super spicy(assuming that's what I saw on TikTok and it was very misleading.) I lost interest after the first 50 pages. Spoilers a head.

I only kept going because I heard about how kindle unlimited worked and wanted the author to make the money however this book was way to long. There was so much that could've been left out. I hated the back and forth with "I want you, no I don't." It was serverly underwhelming to me. I had no interest in what happened next and just wanted the book to be over. Harlow was insufferable to me. I literally couldn't stand her and if you told me this book was written by a man I would believe you.

Go with It by Scarlett Finn is an urban romantic suspense that I listened to on audio narrated by Elizabeth Russell. This is the first book in the A Go Novel series.

If I am completely honest, I was very torn on this book. I just couldn't connect with the characters. There was so much back and forth on their feelings and no real growth within the relationship between Harlow and Ryske.

The ending was a bit of a surprise, but since there are multiple books in the series, I am sure I know where it's going. So, I am not sure if I will continue with the series or not.

Elizabeth did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I will say there are a lot of 4- and 5-star reviews. So, I will say the book just wasn't for me. But that doesn't mean the next reader won't love it.

I’m pretty sure my favorite romance trope is the male love interest who is part of a group of guys that fiercely love and protect the female protagonist. That’s the premise of this. I always hate the damsel in distress/weak female that romance novels seem to endlessly utilize. However, it gets easier to overlook the older I get as I too love the idea of not having to make decisions. Where do I need to go? What do I need to do? What do I wear? Oh…but you have a temper. Okay, no biggie. I never felt an emotional connection between the protagonists here so the ending didn’t ruin my day by any means or make me feel like I needed to read the second in the series. However, it was a quick and mindless read which fit the bill just perfectly.

The narrator did an excellent and entertaining job telling the story and giving the characters a voice.

Harlow and Ryske

Harlow runs into Ryske as he is being chased and bleeding out. Right from the start i was pulled into this story when Harlow stood up to a bunch of guys with guns trying to protect Ryske. I love Harlow and how no matter what she always had some kind of comeback and how snarky she is. Then Ryske the flirtatious playboy con man. I didn't want to stop listening to this and then when you get to the ending I wasn't expecting it and it left me wanting to listen to the next part, so here is hoping it gets released soon.
