5 Words: Antiques, love, betrayal, family, Paris.

This story was pretty perfect for summer. It was fun and light (but not too light) and the writing really brought Paris to life. I could smell the food, taste the wine, hear the chattering tourists. It's exactly the kind of book to get lost in.

You don't have to have read the first book in The Little Paris collection to read this, they do pretty much stand on their own. The links between the characters are minuscule, almost only the setting of Paris being similar.

I loved Anouk. I loved how she acted, she really was an old soul. I loved her passion for what she did, her search for the story behind every antique, her passion for her homeland. I also loved how she jumped to conclusions and all of the mayhem that followed.

The end of this book really hit home and kinda left me in tears. But it was in a good way. Because I had started to care so much for Anouk and I completely understood how she felt. The descriptions in the book took me back to the hospital over a year ago with my own dad, I felt the same worry, the same gut-wrenching despair. It was really powerful stuff.

I received a copy of this for free via NetGalley for review purposes.

Being a firm francophile, there's nothing I like better than to be transported to France. With some truly great characters, jewellery thieves and French food, Rebecca Raisin has created a fabulous story. I was fortunate enough to read the first book in the series and this one is just as good. Loved Anouk's mother and crazy sister and nice to see the bookshop mentioned as well.A feel-good romance with a happy ending but not without a lot of heartbreak in order to get there. The perfect escape if you can't get to France this summer - just add a glass of vino.

What a wonderful story, its French, it has a kooky shop owner, it's got some bad guys, a fabulous mystery at the heart of the story, and some eccentrics too. What more could you want from a new romantic comedy..ah yes it has romance, a sexy man, some brilliantly light hearted sections and generally is a whole lot of fun too.

Have I interested you at all in The Little Shop Under The Eiffel Tower yet?

Within the first few pages I knew I was going to be lost for the evening, between the pages of my kindle, as I just wanted to keep knowing what was going to happen next. It starts relatively sedately in Anouk's antique shop. Those that read the first book in The Little Paris Collection will remember Anouk and her shop, as she has a reputation for not allowing just anyone to buy from her.

She is rather unique in that the first few times you go to her shop you have to be accompanied by someone who recommends you as a trusted customer, and it may take a while for Annouk to allow you to come at your leisure alone. This is after she has sensed if a customer is truly interested in antiques, and not just the objects but the history and story surrounding the object. She doesn't just deal in high value antiques, but anything that is of interest to collectors of just about everything.

I loved hearing her tell some of the items stories to her customers, and hearing all about the objects that she is also hoping to purchase. However the one part of Annouk's life which isn't going as well, is her love life. She recently was betrayed a con man boyfriend, and she is still trying to recover her trust in men.

Especially sexy, gorgeous American men that appear from nowhere but that seems to have a healthy interest in Annouk.

I loved Annouk's family dynamic with her sister who is unlike her as possible, her father who is archaic in his views towards women, and her mother who comes into her own during the story.

There is a huge mystery at the heart of this book, which Annouk and her friends become involved in. I think this book could almost pass for a mystery, as I was so gripped by trying to work out who the thief really was, and I kept second guessing my own opinion, and although not shocked towards the end, I would say surprised.

This is the second book in a mini series, but can easily be read as a standalone. There is just a couple of characters crossover, but at the same time we also had an introduction to who I believe may be the lead character, or at least very much key in the third book of the Little Paris Collection.

I could wax lyrical about my enjoyment of this book for a lot longer, but instead would recommend you just buy it and read it for yourself. If you have read anything by Rebecca Raisin before I know you will love this, and if you haven't, this is a great book to be your introduction to a wonderful author, of chick lit.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Carina for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.

This is my second meeting with the author and I am again pleasantly surprised. As the title suggests, the story takes us to an antique shop near the Eiffel Tower. I have mentioned before that Paris is not my favorite destination, but it seems that the books that take place there haunt me. I like Rebecca Raisin's writing style and the fact that her books are read very quickly and easily. The story itself sounded very familiar to me and in some parts reminded me of another book.

Anuk is the owner of an antique shop that goes around auctions in search of treasures to resell. She is still suffering from her ex-boyfriend, who not only broke her heart, but also robbed her. On top of that, he works in the same circles and makes her life hell. Her best friend is an older lady from a nearby store. A series of robberies shakes their circles, and while Anouk suspects everyone, a handsome American emerges and is hard not to fall in love with him. Now she has to try to make ends meet, deal with family dramas and her ex, as well as fight her feelings for the new beauty.

Anouk has a very orderly life and has shut herself in after the misfortunes caused by her last relationship. Her daily life turns upside down when her sister moves in with her and even brings her current boyfriend. The contrast in the images of the two sisters was very well described. I also liked their dynamics and had fun reading their troubles. Their whole family turned out to be quite colorful, and the story became very funny with the appearance of each subsequent member of their family. I emphasize the word family because, despite their differences, they managed to be united.

Tristan is exactly what Anouk doesn't need now - distraction. However, he is impressed by her and cannot leave her alone. As hard as it is for her to resist, she also falls in love with him, and when she thinks she can admit a new person to her heart, things turn upside down. The series of robberies is disturbing, and Anouk begins to suspect her new friend. It seems that he also has suspicions about who could be the thief and the game of cat and mouse is extremely fun. I liked his image and his kindness. I had a lot of fun with the way everyone admired him, and that annoyed Anouk a lot.

The story definitely pleased me and I read the book quickly. Anouk and Tristan were very interesting characters who at first glance do not fit, but later we see how he is exactly what she needs, and she is what he dreams of. But will they be able to keep their relationship? You will find out in the book. Ah, Anouk's girlfriend, who has enviable crazy stories behind her, is a breath of fresh air blowing from the pages.

The Little Antique Shop under the Eiffel Tower, is the second book in The Little Paris Collection. Although it can be read as a standalone, i think its better to read in order.
Meet Anouk, who is the owner of an Antique shop in Paris. Anouk works with a policy that new buyers are only allowed to buy from her if they are introduced from someone she already knows and can trust. She also likes the item to stay in France. She is very passionate about all of her items and seems to go above and beyond for her customers. There is a lot going on in the story. Firstly, Paris has seen a spade of robberies at the auction houses and many precious jewels have been stolen. Add one charming American into the mix by the name of Tristan Black. There is mutual attraction between them but Anouk is unsure and hesitant after having her heart broken by Joshua. We also get to know her sister Lilou, who doesnt seem to care for much and is always fighting with her dad over her schooling. I have to say this was a bit of a slow start for me, and i did think oh no am i going to like this?. But as i got going i found i wanted to know where this story was going and i found it to be a very different read to normal. The Antique side was interesting and not something i had read about before.
This story has an air of Mystery about it aswell as some romance. Anouk is a tough character and refuses to let anyone in, she is one tough cookie. I loved the feel of Paris that we had throughout the story, i could just feel i was there and the food sounded amazing. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and you can see Rebecca has put her heart and soul into establishing the characters. Bring on the next book.

As a huge fan of this author's work I jumped at the chance to read this book. Once again she has blown me away with this story.

As a fan, I already knew that the author could write a romantic story, but this one is so much more than that. This story has a mystery running throughout, which dictates how the characters act.

Anouk is a wonderful character. She has a passion for antiques and has turned that into a career. She believes the most important thing is the story behind each item she buys, as well as finding the right person for those items. She will not let just anyone into her shop, and the same goes for her heart.

Having had a bad relationship, which left her emotional and financially scarred, she refuses to let anyone in. But are her walls tough enough to withstand the constant barrage of attention from a newcomer to the Paris antique scene?

Tristan Black is an American who is attempting to break into the scene in the French capital. But is there more to him than meets the eye? One thing is for sure, he will have his work cut out breaking through the barriers Anouk has put up.

A string of antique robberies around the world have dealers scared they will be next. When trouble starts coming even closer, it will take all of Anouk's strength to stop it happening again. Does she know who is committing the robberies? If so, can she stop the perpetrator before they go too far?

This is a brilliantly written story, but then I have come to expect nothing less from the author. A definite read for fans, and also those who like a great mystery read.

Many thanks to the author and Netgalley for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Where to start…

It’s kind of hard to write this review, because I adore Rebecca Raisin’s books and I really wanted to love this book, but I didn’t. Let me start at the beginning…

The story follows Anouk LaRue who owns an antique shop and wants to protect French heritage. I struggled with her. She is a very intense and complicated character and I just didn’t find a connection to her, which made it hard to follow her story. I know she had a tough past, but somehow it just didn’t click.

Tristan Black is a handsome American, who completely seems her off her feet. The actual romance between the two characters is what actually bound me to the story.
With a mystery of a robbery and her family and other characters included as well, it got a bit too busy for me. It’s hard to describe, because they are a lovely bunch of characters, but I felt like they were included in the story, but then not at times.

This is the second story in the Little Paris Collection but it can also be read as a stand-alone novel. It’s a novel that combines romance and mystery. My fave part is definitely the romance between Tristan and Anouk, they had a lot of chemistry and Rebecca did a wonderful job describing it. I wasn’t so hooked or grabbed fort he mystery part, which seems weird but I kind of had an idea already, whch made it less interesting.

Rebecca’s writing is vivid and lovely as always and I adored her descriptions of Paris!

I absolutely loved this book. It has a wonderful set of quirky characters. Anouk has been hurt by an old boyfriend who rears his head throughout the book. She runs a lovely antique shop where you have to be introduced by a present customer before you grace the doors. She wants to know that the precious antiques are going to find the best home where their story is appreciated and will create their own stories with the new owners. She visits sales with particular customers in mind and often bids on unusual items. I loved the sales.

She meets Tristan and although he is very dashing she is unsure about him. There is a spate of antique thefts and plenty of suspects. I loved her undercover work with Madame- it really made me smile.

You really can imagine yourself in the sights and smells of Paris with a wonderful leading man to sweep you off your feet, a mystery to solve and lots of pretty, vintage items to browse through.

It's a book you won't want to put down- ideal holiday reading. Part of a series- and although I have read several Rebecca Raisin books I hadn't read the first one in this series. This one can be read as a standalone- although I understand Anouk made a fleeting appearance in the first book. I think we were introduced to the characters that will feature in the next book - The Little Perfume Shop off the Champs-Élysées. That sounds intriguing.

With many thanks to Carina Uk and Net Galley for a copy of this wonderful read.

I received a copy of this via NetGalley in return for a fair and honest review.

This book was such a delightful read! Full of beautiful antiques and settings, and quirky characters, time reading it flew by!

The owner of the Antiques shop is Anouk, and her whole life is antiques! She lives and breathes them, especially the history and the stories behind each piece. But she's been hurt by an ex who used her and ripped her off, so she's finding it hard to trust anyone. She is now very particular about who she even lets in to her shop to view what she has for sale!

There are a lot of thefts occuring in the antiques world so everyone connected is on high alert, and Anouk starts to get her suspicions about people who have recently appeared in her life - once bitten, twice shy as far as she's concerned!

She also has her family to deal with - her younger sister Lilou is a free spirit and is looking for a way out of studying, for which her father is paying! And even her parents cause problems for Anouk so you can see why she gets wrapped up in the stories about the antiques as they are a perfect escape for her!

Really loved the easy going flow of this book, and the intrigue of discovering who was behind the thefts in Italy and France. Anouks' passion for every piece is also inspiring. The perfect summer read!!

Thanks to TBC and Rebecca for letting me review a copy of this excellent book! I have only recently found this author and already read two of her stories. She writes beautifully and her stories are lovely to read. The is the second book in her series but I read this as a standalone as I did with her other story (Secrets at Maple Syrup Farm) and still enjoyed them. Yet again I felt right at home in this story and welcomed by the characters. You can really spot Rebecca's love of writing within her stories which I cannot spot in other authors stories. The scene is set beautifully, the characters are perfect, the location is a dream come true. Whats not to love? I really enjoyed reading this story and cannot wait to dive into more stories by Rebecca. I would highly recommend this story to you all! It was nice to have a change from thrillers for once.. Excellent story. Loved it.

This is the perfect story for readers who enjoy a fantastic chick-lit, contemporary and romance filled story. Fancy going on a holiday in your mind with a bit of drama? This is the perfect story for you. Enjoy, I did. This will be one I will miss.

This book, a follow-up to The Little Bookstore on the Seine where the main character is an American, does not work as well with a native French woman heroine (Anouk, the antiques dealer from the first book). Besides the obvious language inconsistencies, where you feel like there should be much more French, the jewel heist caper element felt clumsy and inorganic. Also, I figured out the "surprise" elements very early on. I won't give away spoilers here, but it was way too obvious for me. The charm of a shy American learning to find her way in Paris built the momentum of the first book. Without this culture clash, this book is much less successful.

Habe mich aufs Neue in Paris verliebt.

I loved Rebecca Raisin's other books and I was so excited to read this one. I liked the main character, Anouk, but I just didn't love this one as much as the others. I loved Anouk's love of antiques and her desire to make sure every antique got a good home. The problem was the relationship development. I thought Tristan and Anouk had great chemistry, but there weren't nearly enough scenes between them to show their feelings towards each other or the progression of those feelings. There was way too much of Anouk trying to secure antiques she wanted, trying to deal with her family stuff, and then she was trying to figure out who the thief was. There was just too much going on. I also though Anouk was WAY too sure of Tristan's involvement in the jewel heist. Honestly, that part was very, very predictable. I figured out who the thief was and I figured out Tristan's secret. This part is a spoiler: I got very annoyed with Anouk at the end. She was frustrated because Tristan was "using" her to find out if she was a thief and yet, she was actually doing the SAME THING! It was so hypocritical. I thought the story dragged during Anouk's "investigation" and then after she found out the truth, the story dragged because it took her way too long to get over what he did.

This story was good, but not great. Still looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

I wish I could give it minus stars.

I thought book #1 of the Little Paris Collection was bad. I could not imagine that book #2 would be even worse. Anouk was introduced in the first book. She seemed interesting. I wish she hadn't been completely ruined in this book. Sarah of the first book was described as "too stupid to live" by a reviewer. In this book there's a whole family of "too stupid to live". There's Anouk, a freaking, gullible idiot. Her sister, an even bigger idiot who is also spoilt and has no respect for anyone. She trashes her sister's place and manipulates Anouk into covering for her. Their father, an old-fashioned misogynist whom Anouk pities after her mother (the only person in the whole book with two functioning brain cells) leaves him because she is sick and tired of being this asshole's SLAVE.

There's a mystery which is predictable and handled with all the finesse of Scooby-Doo (Anouk) and Shaggy (Madame Dupont) an aging caricature of a French femme fatale.

It was also such a boring book. It went on forever. I found myself skipping whole passages because I just couldn't devote any more time to the inanity.
Rebecca, how on earth do you get these books published? How? How do you find these characters appealing?
Now, unfortunately, I've also purchased book #3. I purchased them all at the same time. That's my only excuse. I need a break before I even consider getting into it though.
Not even Paris can redeem this one. Not even Paris.
