One of the cutest Sesame Street books I've ever read! I remember being excited to read this book to both of my children (now 31 and 21!) at Christmastime. Adorable illustrations and so much nostalgia for Sesame Street in general...not only did my kids love the show, but my husband and I have such fun memories as well!

As someone who's rubbish at waiting to give people things I think they're going to like, I definitely sympathize with Big Bird's desire to give Grandma the Christmas present he made for her early. This is a cute way to help kids learn to lean into anticipation--an important lesson in today's insta-culture. The illustrations are lovely and full, as well; I'll be keeping this on my Kids shelf, though I may read it as an adult from time to time.

I am really trying to pass on a few books. I am always surprised at the ones I think I will pass on and then I re read them and I just can't seem to part with them. This falls into that category. Big bird just can't wait for Christmas because he is so excited to give granny the gift he made for her. This book really is so darling.

I really love Big Bird. Also deeply appreciated seeing Oscar the Grouch; he was picking out a scraggly Christmas tree and decorating Big Bird's tree with hubcaps and old shoes.

I normally don't like brand books like Sesame Street but this was a good one. It taught about listening to learn what people would like and it gave ideas of good, simple Christmas traditions (something I embarrassingly needed help with). Sawyer (3.5) was disappointed Santa didn't bring him a baseball bat, though.
