Best textbook I've used in years

I really like this textbook. It's informative and worth keeping as reference in the future. It's not light reading but if you are willing it is worth the mental exhaustion.

Another quarter. Another opportunity to yet again be completely confused by a programming text.

Ok finished this text and OMG compared to everything else out there in the object oriented programming category, it is so awesome! I did not send this book back.

The reading was incredibly dry and boring. I actually found myself falling asleep. However, it was informative and helped me have a better understanding of Java. Unfortunately, I had to look into alternatives to the book (youtube videos & apps mostly) because I simply couldn't read it for any real stretch of time.

I felt Java for dummies was better in the way of teaching an imbecile some basic through advanced Java skills. This book was an advanced book trying to teach a novice how to code. It was effective when used in conjunction with other resources.
