"Can they mend his broken heart? "

"Heart of Fame, Book 6"

After a horrific accident robs rock legend Levi Levistan and his long-time partner, Corbin, of their dream of becoming parents, Levi is lost in a sea of grief. Until he runs into an old high school flame and their chemistry reignites.

Corbin Smith is intent on bridging the chasm between their hearts. But witnessing his lover s steamy onstage kiss with a woman jolts him to the core with sexual arousal. And he realizes the key to their healing is standing in Levi s arms.

As an erotic romance editor, nothing much unsettles Sonja Stone. She s not even surprised at her body s powerful reaction to Levi s kiss. But when Corbin approaches them, eyes smoldering with hunger, his suggestion shakes her to the core.

Sensing their unspoken wounds, Sonja agrees to take a chance on a threesome. Their union is explosively perfect, but something is holding Levi back from sealing their searing emotional connection. Something that could destroy their love once and for all

Warning: This book contains angst, torment, sarcasm, humour, scorching m/m sex, searing m/f sex and explosive m/m/f sex. And a memory of a horrific past that may disturb some readers.

Lexxie’s not a deviant. She just has a deviant’s imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get darkly erotic romances with a twist of horror, sci-fi and the paranormal.

When she’s not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie’s life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she’s insane, a indoor cat who likes to stalk shadows, two yabbies hell-bent on destroying their tank and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever.

Having no idea how old she really is, Lexxie decided to go with 27 and has been that age for quite some time now. It's the best of both worlds - old enough to act mature, young enough to be silly.

And silly she can be. Just ask her husband who frequently has to endure her bursting into song whenever the mood strikes her, feeling him up in public (one of her favorite pastimes), or rolling around in the sand with their dog - a large mutt of dubious origins who causes almost as much havoc around the neighborhood as Lexxie herself. Or squealing her way down the slide at the local park with her daughter!

Lexxie lives by two simple rules - measure your success not by how much money you have, but by how often you laugh, and always try everything at least once. As a consequence, she's laughed her way through many an eyebrow raising adventure.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Blame it on the Bass, and I have to tell you that this is Lexxie’s best book to date in my opinion. This was such an emotional story, and I can’t quite tell you enough what an absolute pleasure it was to read. As I’ve said before, Lexxie makes each one of these books better than the last, and you can certainly tell that these characters are just as special to her as they are to us readers. With each book, the characters have been able to capture my heart in a way that I fall in love with them a bit more with each release. Blame it on the Bass is an exceptionally well written read that was heartbreaking, funny, and oh so very sexy too. I literally couldn’t stop reading from start to finish.

Levi and his long-time partner Corbin are going through their own personal hell, and it is tearing them apart inside. Unfortunately, their relationship might not survive either as they each deal with their pain apart. It isn’t until Corbin sees Levi coming alive at the hands of a woman, that he finds a way to possibly save the future they have together. In a desperate attempt to heal their relationship and to figure out his own attraction to the feisty beauty, Corbin proposes to Levi that they bring Sonja into their relationship.

Sonja dumped Levi back in high school, but a chance meeting during karaoke leaves her in a steaming pile of goo from her powerful attraction to not only Levi, but his partner Corbin as well. When the couple propose a threesome, she is leery to get involved in what she can clearly already see is a complicated situation. Although she isn’t timid to the concept of a three-way relationship given the fact that she is an erotic romance editor, she feels like she will be the Band-Aid in their relationship leaving her to be the one broken-hearted in the end.

Needless to say, the emotions run very high in this one. One minute you will be crying your eyes out for all the pain that Corbin and Levi are enduring, and then the next you will be laughing out loud at just how adorable these three are together. I particularly loved the dynamics of their three-way relationship. Levi was definitely the dominant one, but Corbin showed hints of it as well with Sonja. This power dynamics led to some incredibly sexy scenes that I promise will leave you all hot and bothered. *grin* Overall, Blame it on the Bass was one fantastic read. Like I said before, I really think that this series just keeps getting better, and I definitely recommend it. I’m excited to see what is in store for Jax in the next book Getting Played, so keep up the great work Lexxie and write faster because I’m dying to read the next book!

With each book in Lexxie Couper's Heart of Fame series I become more enamored with this author and her work. There have been so many great books in this series but I think Blame It On The Bass is her best work to date. It's hard for me to pinpoint why I feel this way but this book is more emotional than the others, it deals with some heavy issues, and the resolution isn't easy. This book had me tied up in knots and threw me for a loop many times over yet it also had this overwhelming since of hope to it.

Synergy's bassist Levi and his partner Corbin have been living their own private hell and it's torn them apart. They aren't communication on any level and after seeking advice from his long time friend, Nick Blackthorn, Levi is convinced that he needs to find a way to fix their mess. Unable to reach Corbin, Levi heads for a new karaoke bar and runs into his girlfriend from his high school years, Sonja. Feeling alive for the first time in a long time, Levi plants a kiss on Sonja witnessed by the whole bar and Corbin who arrived while the two were singing and instead of Corbin being angry he finds himself turned on and facing feelings he's never had before.

Right away it's evident that there is an underlying current of need and want between these three people. When Corbin expresses interest in inviting Sonja to their bed, Levi is excited but curious because this is out of character for Corbin. Sonja meanwhile is realizing she's attracted to both men and while not opposed to the idea she knows the two men are struggling in their relationship and wonders if she'll help or hinder their healing. They eventually convince her to give them a chance and wow do they figure out quickly how to please one another and add new experiences to their lives. That's not to say that they don't make some mistakes along the way, that there aren't a few moments of jealousy, and some hurt feelings but there's also this overwhelming since of love that flows between the three of them.

One thing I appreciate about this series is that each book is very different, they aren't cookie cutter and that the issues these people face are real and sometimes come from a dark place. This book had me on an emotional roller coaster; at times I was laughing at their antics, at times I was furious for the hurt they inflicted on one another, and at times I was crying for everything they've endured and overcome. Blame It On The Bass is another stellar offering from author Lexxie Couper whose talent continues to grown and whose work impresses me more and more with each new book.

My love of rockstars continues with this sixth book in Ms. Couper's Heart of Fame series. Just when things look to be going perfect for new couple Corbin and Levi tragedy strikes and the resulting grief pulls them apart. To reignite their connection it will take Levi's dealing with ghosts from his childhood along with a blast from his past who changes their relationship forever.

In their relationship Corbin has always been the calming influence, the one good with words and open with his emotions. Until tragedy struck he was willing to put up with Levi's inability to express his feelings and the perception of coldness this belied...but no more. He loves him too much to leave permanently but is willing to do whatever it takes to help them, and Levi, heal. Corbin never expected the healing to come in the form of Levi's former lover Sonja though. His life gets turned upside down by the energy and sexiness she brings to their relationship and he soon sees her as more than a temporary fix but rather a part of their future. Sexual and physical abuse by his father still haunts Levi today and has forced his emotions to be closed off. He doesn't want to lose Corbin but is scared to deal with his past. He has no choice though after reuniting with the one person who really knows him. She makes him feel alive again after the tragedy and her no-nonsense attitude has him opening up which makes their ménage even more intense and imperative to his and Corbin's relationship. Sonja's a breath of fresh air with her tell it like it is attitude. She never stopped loving Levi and her burgeoning friendship with Corbin quickly morphs into sexual attraction that's believable and super hot. She loves the connection she sees between Corbin and Levi and will do anything to see them succeed but soon wants more as their ménage starts to feel like a family.

Through its compelling characters, intense emotions, and numerous scorching sexual encounters I found myself fully immersed in these character's lives. Their hurts were mine as their grief and anger was palpable. While the crazed paparazzo was a bit too over the top in his actions and the ending too rushed and predictable, I still found much to like about this book. With its sense of healing and hopefulness hinted at in the final pages I'm greatly anticipating the next installment and highly recommend it to those who like scorching hot stories with substance.

Steamy love story about heart break, healing, learning to trust and undeniable lust/love for the unthinkable.

Levi and Corbin have been partners and lovers for over 5 years. Having decided to start a family should be a happy moment in a couple’s life but sometimes life has other plans.

Levi lost in himself unable to cope with the sadness in his life is turning his back on Corbin, his forever. A chance meeting with Sonja “Sonny” his old high school girlfriend has Levi feeling alive again. Corbin is there to witness this awakening.

Sonja just wanted to relax and let the stressed of her day slip away while she sings her heart out to old school rock ballads. Then next thing she knows she is face to face with her ex boyfriend none other than Levi Levistan. Then things get real.

Corbin having decided he is done with Levi not opening up to him about the grief that they should be supporting each other following Levi to the karaoke bar. As he stands in the back to watch, he becomes aware of the electricity between Levi and Sonja. Corbin watches them kiss, he is shocked at how he feels about this. He has never been turned on by a woman but something about Sonja calls to him so deeply that he is willing to do anything to help get Levi to be alive again.

As the three of them continue their relationship behind closed doors or so they think, things become so heat that there is no way to get rid of the fire that is burning inside each of them unless they give in the raw lust that they have as a whole.

When things seem to be crystal clear for Levi and Corbin, the unthinkable happens causing them to look at their relationship. Levi must decide to share a part of his painful past, opening himself up completely to Corbin. Together they must decide if having Sonja become a part of their dynamics will strengthen them or not.

Hands down one of the best menages—hell, straight up one of the best romances—I've ever read. And I've read a lot. Turbulent, soul-deep emotional connections; relationships historied with hidden, unmet needs; foreplay expertly layered to entice, tease, arouse, and intoxicate. Nobody writes erotic romance like Lexxie Couper, and I pity the book that has the terrible fortune of following Blame It On The Bass in my reading lineup.

Yes, this story is part of a long series about rock stars. No, I haven't yet read any of the other, previous books (although you can bet I will now!). Yes, you can absolutely read this as a standalone, but I'm sure the experience is even more immersive if you follow the series order.

This book is so beautifully crafted, so deep, alive with need and love, that after reading it I felt full. Contented. Satisfied. And I definitely crave more from this triad of addicting characters. An Australian rock star, an American Hollywood screen writer, and an erotic romance book editor make beautiful magic in this sixth installment of the Heart of Fame series. Not yet a Lexxie Couper fan? Go pick up Blame in on the Bass right now!

Series keeps getting better

Wow - Lexxie can tell a story like no other; particularly when writing about a menage. When Levi (of the Black throne band) runs into his old high school girlfriend singing karaoke in a bar, he's intrigued. He is, after all, in a committed gay relationship and yet Sonja turns him on. Okay, so maybe he's just bi. When his partner Corbin sees him kissing Sonja in said bar, Corbin isn't hurt or angry, he's turned on. Corbin is a confirmed gay never having touched a woman before, but boy is he curious and when these three finally get it on, things get hotter than Phoenix in July. There's a lot of angst on the guy's part, primarily given Levi's inability to talk about feelings, his past and most of all grief. Will these three make it, or will Levi give up? Buy your copy today and you definitely won't be disappointed.

2.5 stars. This has some absolutely horrific backstory elements for the heroes, and even more horrific childhood abuse for one of them. I know it’s not unusual to give a hero a Secret Pain, but holy shit. It’s pretty difficult to read in parts, and that makes the tone of the relationship development and sex scenes seem really jolting. I also felt like the heroine, who was pretty awesome, was really used as a Band-Aid for the heroes’ relationship and didn’t buy the HEA.

5 Glorious Stars!!!
5 Glowing Flames for Hotness!!

Holy Mother of Hotness this book was Awesome!

Again I am blown away by this series. Just when I think, “Wow I love this guy and he is my favorite in the series,” Lexxie throws me another super swoon worthy guy to change my mind.

Levi is a hard nut to crack. He and Sonja were high school sweethearts. Their relationship ended after Levi’s refusal to open his heart. Corbin and Levi have suffered a tragic loss and are having a difficult time in dealing with the loss. Corbin and Levi’s relationship is in trouble and they can’t seem to heal. Levi struggles with his past and sharing his feelings with others. Sonja is a full of no-nonsense attitude (just what the guys need). I loved her right away. Can Sonja help heal the guys? Can Corbin and Sonja be Levi’s light in the darkness? Read and find out.

This book takes your emotions on a crazy journey. I was laughing, crying, rooting for them and shouting for them to get their act together (Open Your Eyes!) My blood pressure spiked several times in this book. I had a few moments that I wanted to reach through my kindle and beat the ever-lovin’ junk out of Levi for being a meanie. Thanks for the heart pumping check and plenty of antacids, Lexxie. I loved every character in this book (except the paparazzo Carl). Levi is an absolute ALPHA Male and Corbin is so swoon worthy. The lovin’ in this book will steam up your glasses.

After reading my other reviews in this series you all must realize I am a huge fan-girl of Lexxie Couper’s. This book only makes me love her work more! I would recommend this book, as well as, any of her books.

Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone but is part of the Heart of Fame series. I am really looking forward to the next installment in this series Getting Played (Book 7) Jaxon’s Story. (this is connected to my cover reveal of the book)

Oi yoi yoi!

Jeepers what a ride this was! Now I am not normally a gal that reads ménages, or likes reading them even but when I saw that Lexxie had written one…. Then how could I not read it! So with that all I can is when they are done like this then, WOW what a great love story!

This wasn’t just a threesome for sexy kicks, yeah you’ll get your kicks but you’ll also get as usual a great story too from the pen of Lexxie Couper.

I absolutely loved Corbin and his caring, loving ways, I absolutely loved Levi and his dominance and including his inability to share his feelings, I felt his struggle. I absolutely loved Sonja and her sunshiny, fun personality. There was in all honestly nothing in the book not to love.

Now after reading Blame It on the Bass, who is not going to want to punch the paparazzi all over, especially that Holston! Grrrrrr. ☺

I knew that because it’s Lexxie’s that I was going to like this, to be honest because of the ménage I didn’t think it would be more than ‘like’. But I can hand on heart say that oh boy, I really, really enjoyed this, Lexxie’s characters burst vividly to life and the whole story was delivered perfectly. I pretty much loved it and happily give it 4.5 hearts.

I received an ARC of Blame It on the Bass in return for an honest review. My reviews are my own and are 100% honest.

It took me a little while to be completely comfortable with the dynamics of Levi, Corbin and Sonny. I felt really sorry for Corbin to start with cos he LOVED Levi, sooooo much. He was so caring and sweet and I wasn't 100% sure whether he was OK with Sonny and I knew that he was hurting by Levi's distance and inability to move through that but once I got further into the story and saw that he and Sonny not only got on alot and he was more than happy, but that she was also good for both Levi and Corbin, then I settled down and really enjoyed the book!

Levi was gorgeously troubled, hot and in control but guarded, aloof. Often a cold arsehole but his LOVE for Corbin was INTENSE. I adored them and Sonny was feisty, tough and not afraid to put Levi in his place, a perfect match for Levi and Corbin.

Absolutely beautiful, at times I was in tears for Levi and Corbin and the heartache that they felt and the desperate need to fix the huge gap in their relationship but so unsure of how to do it. LOVED THEM, and WOW haven't mentioned that this is a bloody HOT book too, SMOKING HOT!
Another awesome read in this series!

Levi and Corbin are heart broken over the loss of their child and are drifting further apart in the midst of their grief. Not only are they not speaking, but they have separated. Desperate, Levi goes to his friend Nick to talk about it and get some advice. He leaves fully intending to fight for his relationship with Corbin. When Corbin isn't home he makes a stop at the local bar just in time to see his high school girlfriend, Sonja, sing one of his band's songs for karaoke night. He joins her onstage not only for a couple of songs, but also for a pretty steamy kiss which Corbin ends up witnessing. Corbin surprises everyone asking that she join them in their relationship.

Sonny definitely adds some serious hotness to this threesome as that makes two people Levi bosses around...holy hot Dom! Seriously...scorching hot! Levi really needed Sonny to come back into his life - both to help him and Corbin to really talk to each other and also to face his past. This threesome had me laughing out loud at times and crying my eyes out at others.
I loved their story.

I give Blame It On the Bass 4 hearts!

Ok, damn, I think I just found the best book in this series! I am in love with the tormented characters of this book! Levi is the torchered bass player of the biggest rock band around, Blackthorn. Corbin is his partner and a famous screenplay writer from America. These two men endure an incredible tragidy that tears at their long time relationship. Enter Sonja (Sonny) Stone, Levis' girlfriend from high school. After witnessing an incredibly hot kiss between Levi & Sonny, Corbin believes she is the missing piece of the puzzle in fixing their relationship. Soak up this story with your whole heart because you will need it to get through the pain & sadness that is Levi Livingstan! For sure my all time favorite!!
