Ah, so not the last one. Shoot. Too early. Getting tense with the heroine being framed and Tia being hurt. It's painful that the heroine hasn't clocked on yet and remains painfully clueless. She comes across as an irritant. Cuts off with the entrance into graduation. Just when it was getting good. Damn.

The crown prince's fiancée Bertia seems to believe she's destined to fulfill the role of a "villainess", per a "game" she played in her "original world", but right now she's just a cute energetic little girl that crown prince Cecil can't help but look away from. for terrifyingly intelligent Cecil, no puzzle has ever been difficult for him to crack, so maybe that's enough of an excuse for him to care about Bertia's ridiculous schemes so much...

It's refreshing to see a reincarnated villainess through the eyes of her male lead, and Cecil does not disappoint, as a whip-smart prince who kinda maybe grows up to love his future queen a little bit too much. In spite of his (seriously? hilarious) yandere tendencies, watching him be so secure about just wanting Tia by his side while she worries about his possible bad end is just so heartwarming. Also in the original review I posted on IG for the whole series (English version goes up to 3 atm, but I went and binged the Japanese version anyway oops) but that may be even more spoilers so just see it on IG if you want I guess?

The third volume and things are getting better and better! The criminal responsible for Bertia's bullying (and also throwing her down the stairs) is uncovered and also exposed and I was just giddy about it all. It was SO well done (with some FANTASTIC expressions) and I love how big of a support Bertia has. But that heroine type can just F off, LORD, she is so annoying, I am glad that the targets and their loved ones all have that special item to make them immune.
Of course we also see Cecil falling harder and harder in love with Bertia, but does she like him back? Well, heck yes. But we see that she is taking her role as villainess serious (though she is really bad at it, haha and oh so deredere) and that she tries to distance herself because she is so so afraid she will lose him to the heroine he, according to the game, is supposed to be with. I loved all that Cecil did in this volume, how he was there for Bertia and tried to help her out (but also was frustated when she didn't want it). And then that last bit, with the big EVENT, I just wanted to step in and hug Bertia, tell her it is going to be fine. I need to read on. See how it goes.

I'm going to complain.

This is a great, penultimate volume of a series I quite like, being dragged down by what I can only assume is lack of quality control. There were at least two places where the text was duplicated in two word bubbles. Shawn's name was misspelled. Some sound effects were apparently missed.

I expect these sorts of issues from volunteer scanslators, but once a comic has been legally licenced by what I assume are professionals that I'm paying for a finished product, I don't think it's odd to expect more. Do better, Alphapolis.

5 Stars for the story, but 2 stars for the horrible official translation. Read a fan translation a long time ago and was happy to see it officially translated finally, but unfortunately it was done very poorly, especially noticeable in the 3rd volume... Name botching, weird sentences that don't make sense with the scenarios, repeated dialogue in multiple bubbles that should have different texts, etc.

Good but could use improvement

I love the storyline and the art but there are a lot of grammar errors and inconsistencies. It reads more like a fan translation in some parts than a professional one. The other two volumes have similar issues with spelling and grammar but not as bad as this one. There were at least two instances of text being repeated in two adjacent bubbles and places where the characters names were misspelled.
