Very informative! Covers a wide variety of crystals and even shows pictures of them raw and tumbled. Each listing gives you the crystal system, the chemistry, the hardness, source, chakra, zodiac sign, and the benefits. Some include planetary correspondences as well. I love that the book is divided by color and the edges of the paper are color coordinated to the section. Makes looking up a crystal VERY easy. A must have for anyone looking to use crystals for healing and/or their spiritual practice.
Lots of information. Divides crystals by color; covers all the basics (hardness, source, chakra associations, etc); also gives a paragraph of metaphysical information on each. Some showed photos of the raw form, others of tumbled. I wish it it showed both for each crystal - then it would be 5 stars for me.
This book was a great help to me in finding crystals by color which is organized by crystal color. I also learned about healing crystals and our chakras crystals. I found a lot of advice with the healing crystal on how to use them and also cleanse and activate them. I highly recommend this book to add on to your library.
I was given this book from Quarto Knows for an honest review.
This book was great. It's a great book on crystals. Full of very useful information. Anyone interested in crystals and their uses should get a copy of this book. I continue to look things up in it.
Great resource for anyone interested in the healing and spiritual uses of crystals. Lots of great pictures organized by color make it easy to look up stones you might already have but don't recognize by name. I bought this book to keep in my office, and I'm sure I'll refer to it again and again.
Because I have the three "Crystal Bible" books on my shelf, I was a bit torn as to whether or not I would keep this one. It is organized according to color, which can prove challenging. I found this to be the case with "Avalonite". It is not listed in the index at the back of the book and I can never seem to remember what color it's listed under. So that can be really frustrating.
Having said that, there are a few crystals in this book that I don't have in the other three so that alone makes it worth hanging on to. Not my "go-to" crystal book but a nice addition to my metaphysical library.
Very repetitive. Some images are just transposed or adjusted copies of others. At the end of the book, when discussing quartz wand formations, the same image is used for 3 different examples. I also encountered multiple typos and formatting errors. When reading the “beneficial for…” section, it seems as if a list of subjects/medical problems were put into a randomizer and selected for each crystal. I thought it was hilarious that one crystal can go in your toilet tank and “cleanse the home with each flush.” As a Wiccan, I recommend herbal spell work if you want to see results. Good publication to ID your rock collection.

Excellent book on crystals, great information, fantastic pictures, all crystals covered with corresponding chakras, ailment stones covered for healing, a must have reference tool. Much better than the crystal bible . The only drawback is it is difficult to handle due to its large size and the Gem essence making should be covered in brief (if they name it Encyclopedia) , but yet a great book. Buy it and you will love it

Fabulous reference due to the layout. Often times I want to know what a crystal is but have to search page by page to identify. This book has three reference ways for look-up, visually by color coded areas, by name, by purpose. Fantastic resource however not everything is in this book. I still have to look some things up online. The only add-on I would put in this reference are color variations of the stones and what, if any, chakra they would be best with.
I was a little disappointed in this book. I have The Crystal Bible and was expecting something similar to that, however, this book sorts the crystals info by color, so in order to find the crystal you want to read about, you have to know the color and then hunt through that section. Even when you’re in that section, the crystals are not alphabetized for easy finding, however, you can always use the index to look up a crystal and see what page it’s on, but the flow of the book doesn’t work for me.
With the book being broken into crystal color, you have tigers eye in the brown crystal section, and then blue tigers eye in the blue crystal section, this was strange for me. It seems like all colors of the same crystal should be lumped under the crystal name instead of separated out by color. I know why the author did it this way since the crystals are sorted by color in this book, but it does not make it easy to find a specific crystal.
The descriptions of each crystal are very brief and includes the crystal system, chemistry, hardness, source, chakra, zodiac, planet and a brief list of benefits.
I will say this book does have good pictures and covers a lot of crystals, so it’s definitely good for crystal identification, however, if you want to know more about healing and metaphysical properties, get The Crystal Bible by the same author.
I like to think of Judy Hall as the Mother of Crystals. This woman knows a lot about the little shiny things we all love to carry around in our pockets for love, good luck or health. The last book that made my year awesome is this big fella, a very informative book in full color with beautiful pictures and so easy to understand. The thing I love most about this one is that the crystals are sorted by color, and my slightly OCD mind just loves that! The only thing I didn't like, you can't look up the crystals in alphabetical order in the back of the book.. But let's not cry too much over that, this book provides you with all the correspondences, a little general info, greatly put together information on the healing properties and even if it's a high vibration stone. I'm definitely planning on buying more of her books, Judy Hall knows it all!
This book contains more thorough and scientific properties of different crystals/stones. A good portion of them are rare/not as common. Similar to the Crystal BibIe 1, 2, & 3, I learned a great deal about specific types of crystals/stones.
I love how Judy Hall breaks down the crystal/stone properties - as in what they do for you spiritually, mentally, and physically. This is NOT a science book, with a complete breakdown of molecules, structure, elements, etc., but it does give you the hardness of the crystal, and the type of minerals it is made out of. This is a book that is more of a reference/scientific book, but it also contains the spiritual properties of the crystals/stones.
I reference this book at least once a week, if not more.
This book is perfect anyone who is new to crystals. Bright vivid images, color coordinated, with quick value-packed info for each stone. It doesn't include all crystals, but there's plenty of eye-candy to get you started.
Amazing! Everything you need and color coordinated so the stones and crystals are easily identified and found. Love this! Judy Hall is JUST the BEST for crystals and everything you need to know! You’ll love it! I’ve learned so much and it’s easily retained! I have trouble with that sometimes lol
Great reference guide for various crystals including how and when to work with them. Also included is a brief lesson on how crystals form, how to cleanse and maintain your crystals, as well as gorgeous full-color photos of each crystal discussed!
The author takes the reader through various crystals in this book giving the reader in-depth knowledge. This author has written many books for crystals and imparts their knowledge here.
