An excellent way to learn mobile development quickly!

This was the first jQuery mobile book I read and I found it very easy to go through the examples and learn the features of mobile development. The first few chapters show you mobile development techniques such as lists, forms, pages, and content formatting that you reuse in a project in chapter 8. This reinforces the things you learned in chapters 1 through 7.

Then you are shown configuration options, with samples of their use, that you have in jQuery mobile development. jQuery mobile also exposes events and you are shown how to use these with actions like touch, swipe, scroll, and others. You can run the examples provided to see how these work.

A neat feature I liked was how the book shows you how to use Adobe’s PhoneGap Build service to change a jQuery mobile application into native applications for mobile devices. PhoneGap Build service isn’t free but the books shows how developers can use it free.
