This has got to be the most pathetic spineless hero ever. He says he loves the heroine and wants her to stay with him even though he is marrying the daughter of his boss and can't even stand her. No reason to marry her, other than gratitude towards his boss. What a spineless twat, and she's no better sleeping with him even though she knows he's engaged and even caters his damn wedding, oh yeah, she punches the bride because the groomsmen are wrecking her party and she's understandably upset, crying, so the heroine turns around and punches her. Absolutely ridiculous, that she then let her continue with the catering and didn't charge her with assault. And we're supposed to side with the heroine over this???

The coincidence that the hero turns out to be the long lost husband of the heroine and father of her child was just too absurd, and you could see it coming a mile away.

Quinn got up from his chair and took hold of her hand, putting it to his chest.
“I’m yours George, you should know that.”
“You were never mine, not really. You were only ever on loan.”

Before I begin, I should clarify that the H/h names are Quinn & George (short for Georgina). I admit I had a little bit of difficulty adjusting to the heroine’s name, but oh well. Anyway, I decided to pick this up simply because I love books with rock star/celebrity Heroes; so you know I couldn’t pass this up. The beginning was a little slow, but once our heroine, George, meets Quinn, things started to snowball and I couldn’t put it down until I got my Quinn fix. At first it may seem like insta-love, and though both are very attracted to one another, trust me when I say that there is more to their story. As the story goes on, things from each other’s past start to reveal itself. I kinda had my own theories, and towards the end of the book, my suspicions were confirmed.

She was just George Fraser, caterer, black sheep, rock music loving jeans wearer; no one had ever wanted her like he seemed to want her.

When George was a teenager, she lived a pretty wild life. She fell in love and made mistakes; mistakes her mother has never forgiven her for. She turns her life around and now runs a successful catering business. One day she gets a phone call asking her to cater an after-party show; this is where she first meets Quinn.

Quinn Blake is a famous rock star. He can have any woman he wanted. When he first sees George, cue the instant attraction. There’s just something about George that makes Quinn want to get to know her. After the first after-party, George is hired to cater the band’s next four. This is the perfect time for Quinn to make his move.

George doesn’t understand the attraction, but doesn’t fight it. Even after she finds out he’s engaged, she’s still drawn to him. When she caved the first time, I admit, I was a little disappointed in her. However, when Quinn explains the situation, you kinda feel for the guy. He’s stuck in a modern day arranged marriage. He owes his future bride’s father a lot and cannot back out. Quinn is stuck, but he’s unwilling to let George go. So where do they go from here?

I really liked this story for the most part. Because of the twist in the end, I can safely say that this story isn’t one of your typical insta-love stories. Plus, most of Quinn & George’s relationship was kept hidden, so I couldn’t really live out the fantasy of dating a rock star…boo! I also wish that there was more steam in the book, aside from the sexy kisses, there wasn’t really anything else. Oh, what’s with censoring the word “fuck?” You’ll see it as “f**k.” Huh? Really? It is an adult novel, right, so there’s no need for the censoring.

Quinn Blake is an International Rock Star doing a tour of the UK.

George Fraser is owner of her own catering company Finger Foods. She is doing well despite being the black sheep of the family, according to her mother.

George is asked to cater for an after show party for Quinn Blake at short notice. She doesn't want to pass on the opportunity when she hears what Michael, Quinn's aide will pay for the inconvenience. So, along with her faithful team of employees and her little brother, Adam they do such a good job that Michael asks them to continue to cater for the rest of the after shows and more importantly, the wedding of the year!

Quinn just made me feel like a teenager again drooling over the lastest pop/rock idol. His dialogue is sultry and he comes across as a man of few words, mysterious but exciting. There is a lot more to Quinn behind that Rock image, even he is not sure who he is.

George is fairly grounded and knows that this is not a romance that can be pursued, after all he must have a girl in every town, but no matter how much she tries to stay away from Quinn she finds it almost impossible.

When George is asked to cater for the wedding of the year, she takes the opportunity to take her business to the next level. She has to be professional and put her business first.

The chemistry between George and Quinn from the very first meeting is intense and the intensity continues right to the last page.

This hot, Rock n Roll romance is pure escapism and I loved it!

4.5 out of 5 for me!

Wow! This book makes me completely out of myself.
It’s a great story very well developed with no missing thing.
It is about George (short from Georgina) 34 years old caterer, a very successful and promising. She lives a coy life without relationships and she so dedicated to her caterer firm. George have employee Helen, who is her friend too.
Helen is a modest woman, quite and dedicated to her work.
Helen’s daughter Marisa is young girl, very hilarious and chatty. I have to admit I laugh so much to Marisa “acts”.
George lives her quite life-working ,but when she have a job to catering parties to charming star Quinn Black everything go up side down in her life.
Past and future is going to mixtures in one point. Life, love and so missed things, which must been happened again.
And… Quinn is so charming and adorable men, who every woman would love to him.
He is dream for every women and girl in the world.
Whole story is great like fairy tale. There are romantic moments between George and Quinn, which are so perfectly described. Mandy makes great job to write this story like its happened in real life.

Another outstanding novel from one of my favorite author’s, whose work never ceases to amaze!

If I could give this book more than a five star rating I would as it is by far the best chick-lit novel that I have read this year, and one that I cannot enthuse about enough. Full of intense passion and fast-paced drama, suspense and unexpected twists in the tale that literally made me fall off my chair in shock. With its own unique playlist of music to listen whilst you’re reading, this treat should be in everyone’s Christmas stocking this year and all I can say is move over James Bond as devilishly gorgeous Quinn Blake is here!

One follows the story of Caterer George Fraser who is highly ambitious and career-driven, holding her job and her aspirations in highest regard; that is until she meets rock star Quinn. Magnetically drawn together this rabid read takes its reader on a rollercoaster of a ride, as intense emotions and electric tension pulls you along in a whirlwind that contains a concoction of interesting characters. When George is then invited to the wedding of the century little does she know that her life is going to be turned upside down, as suppressed feelings and hidden secrets are revealed to end in such a dramatic climax that leaves you breathless. This is a story about aspirations and desires, attraction and the implications that love can bring.

With its distinctive and eye-catching, magnetic front cover and tantalizingly delightful storyline this is a book that I predict to be a top read within its genre and one that will be flying off the shelves! *I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Mandy Baggot for having her new book as a giveaway on ‘Dizzy C’s little book blog’ *as this book was an incredible read, which kept me awake into the early hours of the morning. As a fan of her other works including ‘Taking Charge’ and ‘Knowing me, Knowing you’ I was so impressed by her new work, with her writing becoming better & better all the time and I can only predict great things to come (if they have not come already) for this accomplished and remarkable author whose books delight so many readers. You will fall in love with her heroines and her humor!

When this book came in my email box (I adopted this author, sight unseen for Adopt An Indie month), I really didn't know much about it. I knew it was chick lit and the cover looked cool (yeah, I know, but I at least admit that I judge books by their covers!). So, I went into this without any real preconceived notions.

The writing is supremely clean and polished. It flows nicely and was obviously very well edited. The author does an exceptional job of giving each character their own "voice" so that you knew who was talking at all times - none of that awkward "lost in the conversation" stuff going on.

Because the characters did have such distinctive voices, I really really really didn't like one of them. Quinn. I spent part of my time wanting to reach through my kindle and smack him around a bit and the other part cringing by his complete lack of sense. But, he's a hot rock star, so I guess we'll forgive him. But still... sheesh!

I'm not sure that it was entirely accidental that I didn't like Quinn. I mean, it added to the story because I DID care, but I just didn't like the guy. I really did like the main female character (George, of course!) though. If a bit of a silly "seriously this is not happening" character, she made an absolutely fabulous lead character with depth and .

Look, it's chick lit. It's not Pride and Prejudice. I go in knowing that I will probably be annoyed by the love story, but I read it because I love it (gosh, does that make ANY sense?). For me, it's escapism, I can be somewhere else for a while, usually somewhere fabulous with someone even more fabulous. This book delivers on this promise - and is topped with a really nice plot.

I had already figured out the big reveal at the end of the book, but the mini one before that I had NO idea was coming. *Hat tip* to the author - very few times does that kind of thing slip by me.

I would highly recommend this for chick lit readers. You'll enjoy it. But ya know, even though just want a quick escape read, you'll enjoy this too. It's a great story, give it a shot.

Strings Attached is th 4th Novel written by Mandy Baggot.
George Fraser is determined to show everyone that she can make a success of her Catering Business, Finger Foods, after all she is not very successful in love! Just one request to Cater for an after show party for rock star, Quinn Blake changes everything.

Huge instant attraction between George and Quinn but they have to keep it a secret. Is Quinn everything he says he is? When they both attend the Wedding of the millennium things truly hot up. But are all George’s secrets going to come out or can she maintain her composure and professionalism?

Will her past hold her back? Are there too many obstacles and arepeople trying to stop anything developing between George and Quinn? Do people actually even know?

There is a gorgeous relationship/friendships between George and everyone that works with her including a lovely protective bond with her brother. George has a lot of issues that you learn to understand as the book develops and she really is a character that you can love. Her relationship with Quinn is wonderful and he is extremely dreamy! Wonderful easy flow to the story and extremely well written. This is a book you won’t want to put down!

I have read a few of Mandy’s previous books and I have to say that I am a big fan of hers, however, I truly believe Mandy has written her best novel so far with Strings Attached. This book has it all, humour, glitz and glamour and an ending you just don’t see coming! As Jane Holland formerly of Embrace Books said ‘a plot twist straight out of Dallas!’ This really is a fantastic book and I am certain that everyone that reads it will not be disappointed – a certain best seller!!

I am always very honest in my book reviews and any of you who have read my previous reviews on Mandy Baggot’s books will know I always seem to be surprised how much I enjoy them as I never liked the front cover of the books. Well this time I am giving Mandy Baggot a big sloppy kiss as this time she has given her book the cover it deserves! I have also been told that Mandy Baggot’s previous novels have had the covers updated and I have had a sneaky peek and they all look great.

The chemistry Baggot creates between our two main characters George and Quinn is quite intense which makes this book a real page turner. Both of the main characters were easy to connect to right from the start of the book. We get the best of both worlds with our two main characters the normal girl next door and the celebrity who is living the high life.

I loved the twist in this book which I for one didn’t see coming. I have enjoyed Mandy Baggot’s previous books but this book has a completely different feel to it. The characters are developed more and the storyline feels like it flows better in this book. I read this book in a day I found it hard to put down and I ended up a shrivelled prune in the bath whilst reading the last few chapters!
Mandy Baggot has hit the nail on the head with this book and I would definitely recommend this book, this is officially my favourite Mandy Baggot book.

I've just finished reading "Strings Attached" and all my thoughts are whirling around. Wow. It was my first book by Mandy Baggot (yes! I can hear you! Impossible, I know) and so I really didn't know what to expect, although as I have heard wonderful prises for her work, I have started reading this novel with - of course - expectations highly set.

George has her own catering company, Finger Food. One day she's asked to cater for the after - party for the international rock star Quinn Blake. As soon as they meet, there is something sparkly between them, something that attracts them to each other. Unfortunately, Quinn is engaged to be married soon and, oh irony, George agrees to cater for his wedding in Spain. Then the situation in Spain escalates and many hidden secrets are revealed...

George, short for Georgina. I admit, I couldn't get adjust to this name, just couldn't, and at the beginning felt often very confused. No, I'm not so short - minded :) I really admire that fact that Mandy decided to write such a controversial main heroine. I think it's clear that a lot of us readers are going to condemn George for her affair with Quinn, and while it was also the case with me (well, maybe I didn't condemn her, I just felt a little uncomfortable and confused, what with her attitude that it's not her problem, it's Quinn's), as she so simply went for this what Quinn told her, George was also one of the bravest, strong - minded, independent, warm and funny characters in the books that I've read. I liked her, simple as that. I admired how she coped with her past, I felt for her when I read about her relationship with her mother, and I liked how she went for her dreams to make them true. At first I really couldn't understand why she so easily believes in all what Quinn says, even if he doesn't say much, only that he despises the woman he must marry and that he doesn't love her, and so I just wanted to shake George and make her to either finish it or give him an ultimatum.

I guess I had much bigger problem with our rock star Quinn. He pissed me off. I was not at all a fan of him acting as if being a mistress was actually nothing for Georgina, that she'll go for it without a single word and be happy that he, pasha, married, has her on the side. No matter what other people did to him, helped him or not, he is a man to himself and he should decide about his life, so I guess I had a problem with his attitude. He wanted to have a cake and eat a cake.

There were of course some of the other characters in the book as well. The members of Finger Food, especially Helen, she was a lovely, understanding woman and I have no idea how she could raise such a big - mouth Marisa, who mostly only played on my nerves. Then we had Adam, George's brother, who was a very average, normal character. And a witch of a mother, George and Adam's mother. I would never understand what kind of mother could behave like this one.

Now don't get me wrong but I'm still feeling really a little too overwhelmed. With the plot, with the characters, with the situations. I'm leaving aside the fact that two people were having an affair, because there are affairs and there are affairs, but the whole idea of the story seemed a little too perfectly obvious. I mean, what are the possibilities for this really happening? Of course it is fiction but well, there must be some reality in the story as well. Here the biggest twist, which I didn't see coming, was just too unrealistic.

And I was feeling really confused, because for a long, long time I couldn't understand, why stay in a relationship with a woman if you know that you don't love her? The excuses "just because" somehow was not enough for me and was not too convincing. And then, putting myself in such a situation as Georgina's, totally knowingly... Only because the guy told me that I should believe him? I mean, I am the last to judge but in the whole it just made me feel uncomfortable for a very long time.

I was tired with the never ending catering descriptions, tired with Quinn hiding his secret, tired with the excuses our two main characters were making to see each other again but doing nothing to solve the problem. And let's be honest, an adult young man who can't stand up to his boss / future father - in - law and playing like he wished, being scared of stating his own opinion... must it really be? Is it still believable? Not for me personally. What I liked though was how the story developed, how this forbidden relationship went through highs and lows, ups and downs, and how Mandy managed with all other threads running parallel through the story. And so we get glances on George's childhood, why her relationship with her mother went all bad but we still, till almost the end, don't know what in fact happened. The same with Quinn's story: we know there is something that happened in the past that ties him to Roger, but being so stubborn, or just ashamed, he doesn't reveal it till almost the end. And that leads us to this end of the story which, for my liking, was a little too crazy and hasty, everything cumulated in those few last pages and it was too much at once.

The thing with the book is that while the plot, the idea of the story, the characters not necessarily rubbed me up the right way, I still enjoyed the book. Its strength and power lie in the writing: it's light and easy to follow, and some of the dialogues and one - liners were great getaway and a great way of distraction. While I didn't agree with the way the characters coped with their lives, I continued the reading because it was interesting, fresh and enjoyable. And high five to the author for really one of the biggest twists that I haven't seen coming! I may have suspected one of them but till it was revealed I was not absolutely sure, and the second one has taken me absolutely by surprise. Altogether, although written in a very soap - opera style, a little over the top, it was enjoyable read and has aroused my curiosity to read other Mandy's novels.

Mandy Baggot is a self-published author and one I’ve tried a couple of times before. I wasn’t such a big fan of the two books I read, mainly due to them being a bit overlong for me, but after seeing the cover for her latest book Strings Attached, I really wanted to read it. Yup, I wanted to read a book because I really liked its cover. Always a fabulous reason to read a book, I’ll have you know. It became available for Kindle at the end of September so I downloaded it as soon as I could and decided to give it a whirl.

Strings Attached is miles better than the two Baggot books I read previously. The cover, the writing, the plot, it all seemed to be on a higher level than her other books I’ve read. The plot isn’t necessarily one that rubs me up the right way – George embarking on a relationship with the very much engaged Quinn Blake, but excusing my distaste at George’s complete lack of self-respect and feminism, and putting the whole affair thing to one side… Well, I enjoyed it. I mean, I didn’t agree with it. I don’t like it personally. But the plot is very enjoyable, despite my personal feelings. I may not agree, but I’m perfectly capable of reading a book about an affair and I felt Baggot got it right.

One thing Baggot likes to do is to make her novels a bit more over the top than most Chick Lit writers. I mean that in a good way. There were some plot lines that I saw coming and some I didn’t and one thing that connects them all, is that they’re all very soap-opera-ish. Mandy Baggot likes her drama and Strings Attached was filled with it. The biggest plot twist that came, I didn’t see coming at all. I’m not entirely sure it’s realistic per se but for the sake of the plot and because it was such an awesome twist (that I did not see coming!!!) I am well able to just believe in the magic of it all. I mean, I rarely get beaten by a plot and I usually have it all mapped out perfectly, so kudos to Mandy Baggot for surprising me. I even think I may have gasped out loud.

I found the characters fascinating. Despite the fact George is a disgrace to women – really, she is; she quite happily sleeps with a man who’s engaged, using the excuse that it’s “his problem not hers”(!) – I liked her. That probably makes no sense, but I dunno, part of me wanted George to just carry on, although another part of me wanted her to grow a pair and give an ultimatum. It was like a see-saw, was my relationship with George. The other members of Finger Food, the catering company George owns, were awesome. I loved Marisa, George’s employee and her mum Helen. I liked Adam, George’s brother, too. Quinn was more complicated. At times, he was a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde character. There were times he was nice and lovely, then there were times he went completely nuts. Swearing, getting angry… I mean, wow. It was strange at times and it did seem that his anger was a bit OTT at times and it really should have been dealt with. He needed anger management.

Strings Attached flowed nicely. Sure, some of it was a bit over the top and very Dallas-like/soap-opera-like with its pronouncements and the way things were uncovered, but overall I enjoyed the read. Strangely, in my Kindle copy, all the swear words are starred out which kind of… Well, it’s very strange. If you want to swear in a novel, you should either just do it or you just shouldn’t do it. Starring the words out is not going to cut it and I did rather inwardly cringe every time a swear word was uttered. I would fix that. But, yes, I really liked Strings Attached. Much more enjoyable than the other Baggot books I’ve read and it seems her writing has definitely gone up a level. I will be keeping an eye out for her next book and I’d definitely recommend Strings Attached.

The journey of how George and Quinn feel about each other doesn’t take long to getstarted and hold our interest.

George is asked to cater for Quinn’s after-show party and immediately they have an unexplained bond with each other. George’s catering creations are so well received that organiser and PA Michael Lambert wants George to cater for them every night. It is during this time that the feelings they have for each other blossom into something that draws the reader in. You feel George’s anxiety and fear underneath those feelings she has no control over.

All the time we are being drawn into their relationship, there are another couple of threads running through the story … Mandy Baggot subtly drops hints about George’s childhood and background so we never know for sure what has happened in the past. Whatever it was has impacted George to her very roots and leads to her becoming the women she is today and affects how she interacts with the world around her. We also find out that there is something in Quinn’s past that ties him to his record producer Roger. We don’t get many hints of what this could be which leads to intrigue and supposition. You want to keep reading to find out what is holding Quinn back from becoming the person he is meant to be!

The settings at home and in Spain worked really well. I could imagine Finger Food staff busy preparing and presenting the food, the concert that George and Marisa attend and the scenes on the roof. In Spain I could feel the heat and enjoy the food in the out-of-the-way restaurant. I suffered in the heat while preparations went ahead for the wedding.

Thecharacters are brilliantly drawn; Helen and her daughter Marisa who work with George in her catering business – Helen is a stabilising factor while Marisa definitely adds colour! I loved the way Marisa came through in an emergency showing us that how George relates to her is based on the things she did in her own childhood and not the person Marisa actually is. George’s family are portrayed really well – her controlling mother and laid-back father. Adam’s love of music and chance to practise with Quinn and perform at the start of the wedding is also another added thread to the story.

George and Quinn’s is not the only love that unfurls in Strings Attached. It was great seeing two of the other characters finally getting together!

The author writes mainly in the third person but when we share Quinn’s thoughts, it is written in the first person. For me this worked really well and gave a depth to Quinn’s character that drew me in even more.
There is one surprise I received just over half-way through the story in connection to George’s family… that really wasn’t something I expected as I didn’t see it coming at all!

The things that are gradually revealed keep the readers interest and in my opinion are totally believable. I enjoyed George and Quinn’s relationship – the tenderness and the passion, the uncertainty and the secrets. This is a chick lit story that has stayed with me since I’ve read it.

I've said this lots of times, but I'm going to say it again. I just love chick lit books and stories about rockstars.
George Fraser has her own catering company Finger Foods, of which she's very proud of. Yes, George is a female, and that's short for Georgina.
She's a 34 year old woman, very mature and organized, but I guess life taught her to be that way. Everything in her life changes one day when she's offered to cater for Quinn Blake's after show party. Quinn is surely an outstanding specimen of masculine perfection! He's handsome, hot, super famous and of course, stalked by women constantly. Though George is really trying to stay professional, Quinn seems to have other plans. For how long will she be able to resist his charm? Is it possible that someone as hot and famous as Quinn could be after someone as George? She's gorgeous of course, but she's not a celebrity, so are there any chances for such a relationship to work out?
Well, things will get complicated and some parts of their personal history will be revealed. This is actually the part of the story that I couldn't predict. A twist you definitely won't see coming! Some say chick lit can be predictable to a certain extant. However, that's not the case with Strings Attached, believe me!
I've heard great things about this book, and I must admit I was expecting a fun and lighthearted read. But the story of Quinn and George is BEYOND everything I thought it would be! The passion, that intense chemistry between George and Quinn, is something that will grab you from the start. I really liked both main characters, but (of course, I am a woman;) I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Quinn. He is definitely a character you won't be able to forget.
The normal girl meets a super celebrity - sounds almost like a modern version of Cinderella. :)
As for Mrs Baggot's writing style, I'm really fascinated by it and I'm pretty amazed how she managed to keep things between her hero and heroine so intense and interesting. And most importantly, I really CAN'T wait to read more from her.

well, i'm not sure where to start but i'll just cut to the chase. First off, when i started reading this book i have a really contradicting feelings if i will continue reading it or not. Don't get me wrong it's not an awful book and the characters are very likeable, BUT i'm not a real fan of a cheating hero whether or not he loves his fiance or not. AND especially i don't like the fact that the hero acts like the heroine being a mistress (if he went with the wedding and all) is okay and no big deal! well guess what, IT'S NOT! it pisses me off big time because if it's really one true great love, you should be able to sacrifice anything or just as much that you will make sure that you can fully commit to your pledge of love, not be scared and be ordered around by some big guy whilst slapping to the girl you love THAT YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!
That's why i had contemplated from time to time if i should drop or finish it. But despite being annoyed from time to time I chose to read through it, and boy am I glad that i did! When the big secret ( or should i say mystery, because no one really knew about the truth thus no one was keeping it secret, it just dawned on them) was out, it just clicked! all the puzzles, the questions and doubts were answered. I didn't even see it coming until the last moment of revelation! I immediately understood all of it and started cheering for them from the bottom of my heart. The final part of this book has made all the things i hate about it acceptable. Like why did they fall in love that quickly? like it's not realistic or something (no pun intended about fiction books). And with just the final part I thought, "ah..so that's why they were so connected with each other!"
All in all i enjoyed this quick read and i'm amazed by the author on how she let the events played out like it did and thought about the BIG SECRET of it all. It's amazing really, and I'm happy i read it. Thanks! :)

This is my first Mandy Baggot book. *Waits for gasps* I certainly don't know what I had been waiting for, I had heard so many great things about her books and how she creates these crazy romantic stories. Anyway, when I was offered the opportunity to review this book for the tour, I jumped at the opportunity and I am happy that I did because I really enjoyed it. There is so much drama, unexpected twists, romance and passion!

George, short for Georgina, is an ambitious caterer focused on her small company, Finger Food, with no time for relationships... until she meets Quinn Blake, the famous rock star. Their connexion is instantaneous and they start this kind of passionate secret relationship risking everything because not only is Quinn on every magazine but he is engaged too, with the daughter of his boss. At first, I didn't really understand why George and Quinn had this incontrolable need to be with each other without knowing anything about their lifes and having exchanged only a few words. But their love was so intense that I just thought, go for it guys, I am sure something big is awaiting for you. And it was! Like huge! I think Mandy likes her stories to go big, but that's good because it makes them so unexpected.

I really liked the characters surrounding our main couple, the Finger Food staff was lovely: a sensible mother with a crazy daughter, I loved them and they had an amazing relationship. And then Adam, George's brother was really cute. But don't forget, Quinn's fiancée and her father, I loved hating them. She was so bitchy about everything. So all in all, Mandy creates a unique love story with so much drama that will have you glued to the pages of this book until you finish it. I am for sure checking Mandy's other books.

Tomboy George Fraser owns her own successful catering company Finger Foods which is running along nicely, as is her uncomplicated lifestyle, that is until she is offered the job of a lifetime – catering for the after show parties for Rock God Quinn Blake. This is not only a turning point in her professional career but a massive turning point for her private life too.

The sensible, cultivated and pragmatic side of George tells her not to become involved with Quinn but her heart, the person she has suppressed for so long, is telling her she just can’t let him go and it seems that Quinn feels the same too. The tussle of conscience about what they want to do and what they should do begins but with so many secrets involved on both sides can they ever find happiness?

Strings Attached moves at a good pace and although is told mostly from George’s point of view, we do get a look into the mind of Quinn too. Getting two sides to the story is something I personally really enjoy. The plot has been very well thought out with twists and turns and gradual revelations allowing the reader to get to know and understand the reasons behind the thoughts and actions of George and Quinn, not only how they relate to each other but how they relate to those around them.

The tension and chemistry between George and Quinn nearly frazzles the pages as you turn them but there are also moments of tenderness which really draw you in. There is a good supporting cast of believable characters, each of them used purposefully with a point in the plot rather than being there just to make up the numbers.

I really enjoyed reading Strings Attached and personally think it is Mandy Baggot's best book yet.

George Fraser is a responsible, sensible thirty-four year old woman. She is successfully running her own buffet catering company. Right now she is happy on her own, she is in a good place, and she loves her work, finds cooking fun and adores the people that work for her.

When her company ‘Finger Foods’ is given the job of catering for Rock Star Quinn Blake’s after show party. George knows this will be the most important event that she has ever catered for. She wants to do a good job and be at her best if people like the food she would get more work from people recommending her and recommendations are the best way to bring in new business and George’s company is everything to her.

Things do not go the way George plans when she meets the gorgeous Quinn and he goes to great lengths to get to know her. Quinn is engaged to his record company bosses daughter Taylor Ferraro who is a beautiful actress. Quinn is living the rock star life; he has it all money, a beautiful fiancée, people at his beck and call. He is a star who could have any beautiful glamorous woman he wanted. He could not possibly be attracted to an ordinary jean loving, tom boy of a girl like George could he?

This is an engaging love story from Mandy Baggot that is a lively and witty read. About two unlikely people who are worlds apart been drawn to each other. I really enjoyed reading this book. The plot twist towards the end brings the story to the perfect conclusion. Mandy Baggot has created an impeccable love story.

I really enjoyed it. Give it a try. The stories by this author I believe are Europeon, British? by the differences in the way things are said, etc.

First off, I was starving for this entire novel. Mandy Baggot’s protagonist, George, is a bit of a wonder woman in the kitchen, which leads to lots of mouthwatering descriptions of delicious food. A sandwich just ain’t going to cut the mustard for the duration of this read so make sure you’ve got either a full stomach or well-stocked kitchen before you begin.

Culinary inspiration aside, Strings Attached is a spectacular romance that throws you head first into a complicated affair, where two hearts long for one another but can’t ever be. George and Quinn’s relationship begins fairly early on, which allows readers to have a more detailed look at each character, especially with the switching narrative, and their dynamics. It’s all together pretty epic and I loved that the pair can barely suppress their feelings, which forces them to continue on down a path that could be disastrous for both of them.

Although I loved the whole swept-up-in-romance feeling of the plot, for me the main draw was the twists Mandy Baggot springs on her reader. One of them came out of nowhere and left me sporting a fairly unattractive dropped jaw look, whilst the other I began to suspect but in a “Oh I really hope this happens” way, rather than a predictable one.

The journey from first page to last is a complete buzz; there are ups and downs, romance, a couple of cracking arguments, characters you’ll love and some you’ll love to hate! Grab it! Grab it now!

The synopsis was great and I really liked the beginning of the book.

George is a woman with a lot of different problems that made her highly interesting. I thought it was great to see how she dealt with them and still succeeded in living her life successfully.
I couldn't connect to Quinn in the beginning and didn't really like him later in the book as he was either all mysterious or all love-dove.

Nevertheless, the beginning of their relationship was intriguing. Unfortunately, it all went down the drain when the story progressed and more problems with their future were revealed. It felt like a bad soap opera.

Luckily, the minor characters were awesome. I don't say that much these days but I really enjoyed reading about them.

In the end, the book was good but it lost me when it tried to solve all the problems with the most far-fetched solutions ever. Highly unbelievable and just too overly dramatic for my liking.

As always I love to read a story that includes a rock star. This lived up to my expectations and then some. George is a woman trying to move on from her past of being a reckless youth and manages to build up her catering business now that she is an independent woman. She appeals instantly. She is surrounded by some clever characters and finds herself falling in love no less with a rock star. Some unexpected secrets that affects not only her new found love but her future. So many twists in this story that really shocked me. The author has the escalation of George's emotions and stress level perfectly. The reader feels the breaking point of this character along with her.

“Strings attached” is a great novel! I don’t know how Mandy Baggot does it, but she continues to write the most incredible characters, book after book. The relationship between Quinn and George is electric, with so much tension and twists and turns. Even the more delicate of situations are handled beautifully, with grace and concern.

I was sad when the book finished, because the characters became more like friends and now I wont be able to keep in touch to see how the “ever after” goes. Strings attached, is a brilliant novel that will entertain and stay with you long after the book is over. I highly recommend.

This book took me by surprise. I love books that involve rock stars but this one had a nice twist. I couldn't put this one down. I was a little nervous in the beginning about the direction the plot was moving. I thought it was the typical book about a sex-deprived woman that falls for hot rock star but did this book surprise me. But I was totally surprised about the outcome. This is a MUST HAVE if you love stories about rock stars.

I wasn't sure if I would like this book at first. And in the beginning it was slightly slow starting, but once I got into it I loved this book! There are lots of unexpected twists and turns and if you really thought about things you might be able to guess what's going to happen as you are drip fed information. But overall a great read I would recommend and re-read!

Okay so George, a girl, gets together with Quinn who has a fiancée. And then she keeps getting together. Where is her self respect? I liked the story, but the few things I fiound annoying was the fact that George kept herself in a bad relationship knowingly, and that Quinn was spineless. But of course, that's also what makes this such an interesting read.

No spoilers.

This was a nice read. I enjoyed it, the storyline was sweet, and the characters were too. Mentioning my favorite singer on the first page wasn't too shabby either.

Editing was very good also.
