Engaging read but all the men in this book were unlikeable. Disgusted by the “hero” of the book, he was a chauvinistic pig yet for reason the main fell in love with him 🙄

Intriguing

It's a well written story in a classic style. Mysterious and intriguing and flows quite well. It was difficult to know who the real villain was until the end.

Short & simple gothic. Not OTT exciting. It did have vivid descriptions I expected of the author (Jennifer Wilde) but lacked the familiar ... that made me want to read it -- as "Danger at Dahlkari" which did have some innards of a bodice ripper. I'll try more of these EM's and his other pseudonyms though they go for more than I want to spend.
