I was hoping it would have more detail than the movie. I think I liked the movie better...what's not to love about Sean Connery!!

So I read this book my junior year in high school for a book report...it wasn't call a book report, it was called something else, but it was the same thing. I had saw the movie first - is this a movie book? I don't really know, but it pretty much follows the movie...that's why I gave it 3 stars. The movie is definitely a 5 star movie, but the book was like reading the movie, hence, 3 stars. If the book came first, I apologize, this is one where the movie was better than the book.

Enjoyable novel from a movie, not as good as the other way around.

Not only one of my favorite books but one of my favorite movies. An American woman is kidnapped by an Arab rasuli (played with aplomb by Sean Connery) and is a pawn in negotiations with President Theodore Roosevelt (played with bully and bluster by Brian Keith). Wonderfully done!

Enjoyable novelization of John Milius's screenplay for the film. I highly recommend the movie as well. Good, solid family entertainment...despite the beheadings.
