DK travel guides are always my favorite way to plan for a trip, and this one is no exception. Maps and many color photographs make it easy to get excited about the wonderful places we will visit on our trip to Israel and Jordan. The guide has some references to Egypt, so I think an earlier version might have included that country as well. Better editing is required to make it germane to the countries listed.

In preparation for my journey.
Would have liked to take this one with me.
But baggage limits are strictly 20 kg and under.
For the small air flights.
This book caters for the budget traveller ie me.

This is a travel book, but as part of my preparation to go to Israel in a month's time I feel much more equipped after reading and studying it thoroughly. Although we are going in a group, it has given me the assurance that our itinerary has been well planned as there is so much to see! For any of you who are planning to go to Israel, I can recommend this book.

When I first read this book (2010 edition), I never thought I would actually travel to Jerusalem one day. Lots of good tips about many historical sites in the region. I am glad I took this book with me and consulted it throughout the book so much that some of my tour-mates also looked through it while traveling on the bus.

I don't know how much it helped me prepare for my trip to Israel but it certainly helped me while I was there and gave me great satisfaction knowing I was visiting the things I should visit. Up to date information with a non-annoying bias.

Quite satisfied with this one. Helped me a lot during my travel to the Middle East in April/May.

one of the better eyewitness guides: probably because it's not about a country but about a city & area that is replete with the holy sites of three faiths.

This is a regular travel guide. I don't think it is any better than the others.
