There is only one person on earth who ever mattered to Geris Jackson and that one person is her best friend Kyra Summers (The Empress' New Clothes). When Kyra is kidnapped, Geris fears nobody will believe her tale about the giants with the glowing blue eyes who snatched her best friend away, so she sets out to find Kyra herself. Suffering disappointment after disappointment, Geris begins to give up hope. She gets the surprise of a lifetime when one of the giants who stole her best friend hunts her down and claims her for his own. "SEIZED definitely lives up to expectations. Well- written and full of spicy hot sex, the book easily returns to the cultures and events that captured our attention in the first book, while expanding on Dak and Geris' romance enough to make the story both new and intriguing." - Ann Leveille, Sensual Romance Reviews

Another excellent story in the series.

The heroine Geris was bold, outspoken and a little smart-alecky, but I still liked her. I liked how she stood up for her husband when his brothers hurt his feelings. For the first half of the story, she fought Dak so much it was a wonder he didn't give up, but he toughed it out, and they turned out to be fabulous for each other.

A couple of times, Geris refers to Dot, a character in the story Devilish Dot (Manaconda anthology). It is not necessary to read the Dot story before this one, but I enjoyed seeing the reference to Dot. Dot sold sex toys in the U.S.

Seized is the second story in the Trek series (labeled 1.5 by the author). I recommend reading them in order. See my review for "The Empress' New Clothes" for a list of all the books in order. I reviewed it 3/11/08 under 5 stars.

Sexual language: erotic. Number of sex scenes: thirteen plus. Setting: current day U.S. and a couple of different planets in the Trek Mi Q'an galaxy. Copyright: 2002. Genre: erotic paranormal science fiction romance.

Written I believe 6th in the series but takes place during the last half of the first book it is better to read it after the first and before the second.

Geris and Dak. We met and saw some of their relationship in the first book The Empress New Clothes. Now in this one we get things from Geris persective as well as a few things we didn't know. Like Rustian encounters, meeting Keta's family on his planet and the orgasmic greeting she receives from 5 pugmuffs.

There is an overlap in stories from this one and The Empress New Clothes but that definately doesn't take away from the story.

I love this series. It has the perfect combination of hedonist orgasmic fun with that sci-fy alien twist.

I like this story since it tells the first story, but from Geris's point of view and how Jek meets Ya'rat. However this is the last book I have because the prices are ridiculous so I may never know what the conclusion of this

Top 3 of my most hated. Of all time.
Legitimately one of the worst books I have ever read.

Let’s get this over with.

Seven-foot-plus hero from another effing galaxy dresses up like 1970s full-sequins Elvis to kidnap heroine from Las Vegas (due to poor research, he thinks that’s normal Earthling attire in Vegas— hilarious, right??). He clumsily plucks her from her hotel lobby and takes her to various planets, but never warns her of the local customs… all of which seem to involve forced nudity and strangers penetrating her, in public/at state dinners, with no warning whatsoever.
So wacky and fun! So hot!
No wait— the opposite of that!

Heroine talks a whole lot of noise about this treatment (she’s sassy!), but pretty much puts up with it. When she doesn’t want to… she does anyway, because she’s biologically compelled. Yes, bio-imperative means heroine has no choice but to “be nice” to hero no matter what he does. On this interplanetary tour, she wears a language-translating collar I mean bridal necklace (yes, of course they’re kidnapper-and-wife now) that also transmits emotions, but apparently only one way— which is inexplicable and stupid, but does the important narrative work of allowing hero to completely ignore her opinions.

Heroine follows the usual “in love with her nemesis in just three short days” arc. In between non-consensual orgasms, she storms around and wails a lot (she’s headstrong!). • Hero’s speaking style is just ridiculous; all screwed-up pseudo-Scottish quasi-archaicisms, which makes no sense. To round out his personality (LOL), he has a sore spot: everyone thinks he’s a dumb-as-spit musclehead (which hurts his feelings). Go figure. No. Wait. I mean aww!! :’( • The writing is noticeably repetitive, like someone told the author to lengthen this by 20%. • I think maybe this book is supposed to be funny? (the barnyard mystics, the Elvis thing, the planet of buttheads, “once you go Dak...”). It isn’t. • IRR, but whoTF cares. (The author sure didn’t.)

Stupid, meta-offensive, headache-inducing.
Definitely not my fetish.

Zero fucking stars.

I liked it i thought it was just right as a follow up to Kyra's friend Geris. Dak was a lovable guy i like the way the story went along. I almost didn't buy the follow ups because of the bad reviews they got but i took a chance and liked them.

Take a chance if this is your type of book it's readable.

I'm reading these books totally out of order. This is actually book #1.5 I think and is about Geris. Since I haven't read book #1, I have no idea why Dak didn't take Geris when Kara was kidnapped, but he comes back for her 3 months to him, 3 years to her later. This woman responds like a normal human being to all the strange customs I think and although I think the author was trying to portray her as kind of a bitch, she actually took everything a lot better than most people would. The cover in my opinion is a little creepy with her being so tiny next to him.

Ok Ladies, Let me just say this book was wow, freaking amazing. This is the first book I have read and it seems to be a series so me saying that there was no "real" story line may be unfair. This book had some amazing erotic imagery. The Rustians? Oh my word, amazing little creatures. Over all the book was a good read and I even laughed out loud once or twice. There were a couple of times where I though a line was total cheese and rolled my eyes but over all the book was very entertaining and a fast read. I would definitely recommend this as a read.

Jaid Black did a good job with this story. It is not often that an non Black author creates a Black character that isn't weird. Either the character is a mix of every stereotype or they are attorneys that talk with ghetto slang. Jaid Black made her similar to her other characters, just Black and other than making her abusive, the character wasn't bad. Her journey to Kyra was interesting. She encountered hundreds of weird beings that wanted to please her and her reactions were comical but "realistic".

Good back story

This is Geris and Dad's story, from the time they met until they were on Tryston with Kyra! It's good to see just how he "acquired" her and all the Craziness she had to endure before reaching Tryston (not sure why she was at all shocked by what went on in the palace!). It gives some good clues as to what is to come, if and when Jaid finishes the series, which I so hope she does!!!!

This is the story of Geris and Dak. It should really follow after book one. There is some overlap between the stories. It's not essential that you read books in order though. It was an ok story but not a standout one for me.

Spin-off from The Empress' New Clothes has brother of Zor, Dak, going back to Earth to pick up Geris, Kyra's best friend and his Sacred Mate. This story mostly reiterates customs learned in the first book but also sets up a couple of new characters.

Good storyline. I didn't like Geris's freak-outs & over-reactions, total page skippers. Only her reunions with Kyra & standing up for Dak were good scenes.

Another entertaining and humourous story in this series. As Geris travels from earth to Tryston with Dak, she encounters an assortment of denizens of space and surprises that challenge her ability to adjust to this new reality. In a similar vein, her feistiness and sassiness challenge Dak's patience and his attempts to dominate her. I found though that I really liked Dak, who, in his own way, is a gentle soul. This story also includes background information on Tyra and Geris that explains their loyalty to one another and provides some insight into their personalities. As I finished this book I found myself looking forward to the next in the series. That speaks to the author's ability to both engage the reader and to provide enough tantalizing tidbits about characters to make me want to know them better. A solid four star rating.

If you read the sequence of the series in Jaid Black website, this book is no 6 but actually it should be read after you read the 1st book. The story is so short, not like the 1st book (but when I’m thinking about the other books in the series, the number 1 is the only one that can be called a novel, while others are more to novella). I’m not quite satisfied with this book, maybe because for me it is too short. The characters and story are not yet well developed but the author already cut it short.

This is the story of Geris, Kyra’s (Heroine in 1st book) best friend. She is by far feistier than Kyra but while I can sense Kyra’s emotion in the 1st book, I can’t feel connected that way with Geris (again it might because of the shortness of the story). If only the author can give it more twist and emotional connection, I might like it very much.

Stars: 5

Overall: I had wondered what happened between Geris and Dak when he claimed her and their story was just what i needed to read from this series. Geris is the character that I can relate to the most because i would've been bitching and screaming just the way she did. My favorite part of this whole book has to be these Rasfitans, and i want to know where i can find some. =D lol I really loved that Geris stands up for Dak even if he is an all mighty powerful warrior. This book has to be my favorite in the series.

Characters: Geris & Dak

Page Turner: Yes!

Series Cont: This is the story the series needed. =D

Recommend: Yes!! Read before book 2.

Having already read multiple Trek Mi Q'an books I am familiar with the story of Geris and Dak of course but it was great to get a fuller story to what happened between them. There is some overlap here and there but it adds more details or a different perspective in those parts of the book so it really isn't repetitive to what we read in The Empress' New Clothes which is good in my opinion. Another winner in the series. :D

This is supposed to be read after the first book, but now I can understand why instead it is placed on the last part of the series. This is the story of Geris and Dak which are described from the first book. The one thing I can't comprehend is that Jaid Black created alien characters which are very sexual in nature (male and female creatures that craves bodily fluids). Anyway, this book also describes Y'rat? and Jek that I can understand them somehow. This is an entertaining read.

So this was interesting.

It gave me a better insight into the minds of Dak and Geris. But this book could have definitely not been written. Most of the important event had already been stated in the previous book. The only upside was the hilarious encounters between Dak and Geris when Geris was eager to get her way.

Dak and Geris!

There is nothing better than when your alien loved comes for you, and loves you for all times to come. This is a very sexual series but so much fun to come to know these warriors and the female mates they love and can't do with out. Their is a good storyline to each book! Enjoy, this is a fantasy read.

I enjoyed this short erotic paranormal story with another new planet of sexy beings but this series would have been better as one long book because the other thread in this story didn't really relate well. Dak goes to earth to get his life mate Geris.

3 1/2 stars. Geris is a good character and has a great sense of humor. Dak has some funny lines as well. The sex in these books is getting kinda tedious with me though- Jaid Black seems to write the same scenes over and over again.

Two words: weird and m'eh. I guess it was worth what I paid for it, which was 48 cents. Strange moons and planets where there are wild men (think one feet tall men) that perform sexual acts on you as their sustenance.
