In the series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" (books #1-4) by Rick Riordan, the author skillfully crafts an engaging narrative that blends fantasy elements with vividly depicted mythological creatures. His storytelling creates striking imagery, allowing readers to easily visualize the unfolding events. The characters are well-developed, each with distinct personalities, making it hard to resist the urge to dive deeper into their adventures. This journey not only entertains but also ignites a desire to rediscover the wonders of mythology.

I first encountered these captivating books upon their release, and now, revisiting them, I still feel the same thrill and excitement that initially captivated me. The adventurous tale unfolds at a lightning pace, filled with humor that keeps readers smiling amidst the chaos. With every turn of the page, the story offers exhilarating moments and unpredictable twists, ensuring a delightful experience for every reader.

Love it. I just finished this book again. There are many series in the Percy Jackson series in this order. Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Kane Chronicles, Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Trials of Apollo. The Trials of Apollo and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard happen at the same time so you need to read them at the same time. But The Trials of Apollo is longer it and is still going on.

I had read the book before. I read it as I was watching the Disney show based on the book. I love how clever the book is, and how much fun it is to read.

Rick Riordan is one of the best children’s book writers. I don’t think this series is readable as an adult, so sorry if you missed out on reading these. But if you’re thinking about giving them to your children, here’s my analysis.

Percy has a bad home life. He has ADHD and dyslexia and gets into trouble in school. His father abandoned his family. His mother is with his abusive stepfather who is domestically violent and overall horrible. Percy discovers that he is actually a demigod, his father is actually Poseidon, and his mother is with a loser to mask the stench of his demigod-ness? The book is filled with questionable logic. Percy goes to Camp Half-Blood with the rest of the demigod kids where he finds his friends, romance, quests, etc. I see this series as having the same implicit moral as many other children’s books (Divergent, Harry Potter, etc.) which is that your neurodivergence can actually be a hidden strength.

These books also caused a global resurgence in Greek mythology interest, and both the books and films have become culturally iconic in their own right. These books were a staple of my childhood and I highly recommend them.

I liked this series. The reason why I didn't love it is because it is aimed at kids so the humour didn't really work for me. I really enjoyed the mythology and the plot of each book though.

I really hope they make movies out of the rest of the books. Not only do I love the movies (I think they improve upon the books) but I think that the plot of the last two books is the most interesting. I do wish this series had been available when I was a kid because I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I would recommend this to children as it is a good series.

gosh! I loved this book, especially the part where Nico realized that Bianaca's death wasn't Percy's fault. I really love Nico, I seriosuly do. And I love Percy more. I really didn't want one of my favorite characters 2 dislike each other. I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVED IT! I love Rick, I love the way he puts these stories, they're the best, and please, if u haven't read the book, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT WATCHING THE MOVIE.

Fast-paced, entertaining books. I read these on vacation, and they were perfect for that. I have the 5th book on hold at the library, so that must mean something...
