Organizational Behavior Improving Performance & Commitment in the Workplace

Rate this book
The introductory section of Colquitt contains two chapters not found in the beginning of other Job Performance and Organizational Commitment. Why is this important? Being good at one’s job and wanting to stay with one’s employer are critical concerns for employees and managers alike. This book takes a unique approach by highlighting the concepts of PEFORMANCE and COMMITMENT at the beginning of the book. After describing these topics in detail, every remaining chapter in the book concludes by linking that chapter’s major topic to performance and commitment. Using this approach, students can better appreciate the practical relevance of organizational behavior concepts.

Easy to understand textbook. In addition to the standard OB textbook material, each chapter offers case studies from real companies that align with the content topics. Also, each chapter offers suggestions on additional books to read if you wish to pursue a topic further.

Oh finally, just finished to read dis goddamn 768 page book. For me, this is the most engaging OB textbook. It keeps things interesting by having real world examples, statistics,OB at the bookstore, OB on screen, OB for students etc. Very useful.Simple, clear written OB textbook. I recommend it for students who are interested in OB.

Good information in an easy-to-read format. Heavy on examples that can get wordy. Book could easily be cut by a 1/3 and still be very informative.

This was course material for a class I am taking at OU. Not something I normally read, but I did learn a lot.

An insightful read. This was an assigned textbook but I enjoyed the sections with examples on Organizational Behavior on-screen and recommendations of other books to read on each topic.

I got this book for $1 at the used bookstore at UW which is sadly now closed. Super helpful info for my managing position.

Nicely written and easy to read, especially for a textbook. Excellent examples used for visualization throughout with many of them being from recent enough memory that they are still relevant to the topics today. I have found myself repeatedly going back to this text as a reference in areas outside of its original use.
