The Changeling - Callista Arman - 3 /5 - Amusing story about a wife whose dissatisifed with her current sex life and ends up wishing for her fantasy to come to life. And so a changeling takes over her husband, begins enacting scenes from her favorite erotica and totally rocks her world...only she learns it isn’t quite what she wants because it isn’t really her husband. While I like that she learns that lesson, unfortunately the hottest sex scene in the story is one in which she has sex with a monster and is unknowingly unfaithful to her husband. I kinda wished it had balanced with an even hotter sex scene with her husband later.
Breaking the Rules - B.J. McCall - 4 / 5 - Very sexy story about a outerspace security team leader and the member of her team that she’s fallen in love with, but she thinks it’s lust. They succumb to their lust and realize it’s love, but in her attempt to be professional, the heroine separates the hero from the team and ends up getting herself in trouble. Hero swoops in and rescues her. All very nice and steamy. Although the sex scenes had a bit too much description of “heat” and “fire” and “burning” and “sizzling” which kinda brought a really bad yeast infection to mind…
Abduction - Lynn LaFleur - 4 / 5 - Mike (Michaela) and Jax have been friends for months - she’s been in love with him while watching him pursue short-term relationships with blonde bimbos. The friendship is great, but Mike knows that Jax would never go for her and it hurts her. Everything changes when the two of them lose 7 hours one night and shortly realize that they must have had sex. They have loads of sexy flashbacks and have to come to terms with what it all means. This was a pretty cute friends-to-lovers romance with some steamy scenes, but I was disappointed in the final scene they have, where they realize they love each other and have sex...too short.
Dark Pilot’s Bride - Cricket Starr - 2 / 5 - This had potential but didn’t execute. Jasia is chosen as her civilization’s sacrifice to the Dark-Pilot, a vampire trader who takes a woman as a food & sex source when he comes to trade necessities. She’s plump and a virgin and Dmitri’s idea of perfection. There’s a huge dose of insta-love as Dmitri spots Jasia and decides she’s his “darkmate” and that she’ll feed and sex him for the rest of his life. And he proceeds to do so right then despite her fear...he basically rapes her. She does call him on it, but then he says he didn’t hear her saying no. She fails to use the argument that she’s not really going to say “no” when you “touch” her mind...which is the equivalent of drugging her. So yeah, he still fed from her and had sex with her when her rational mind was saying no. But then she suddenly decides she’s in love with him because he’s the only man who has ever desired her. Also quite a lot not explained.
The Windsday Club - Charlotte Boyett-Compo - 2 / 5 - Really just not to my taste. This is completely not romantic - it’s straight up erotica. I prefer erotica with romance mixed in and this was not that at all. This was primarily an orgy. No character development, no real plot, just smut.
Manacles of Love - Elizabeth Lapthorne - 3 /5 - Ma’ra is home after 2 years away and learns that Paul, a local cop, has been dropped from the force from corruption and stolen her cousin’s savings. So she sets out to get her revenge in a sexual way. Lots of steamy sex, sex with toys, bondage, teasing and bringing partner’s to the edge of control ensues. Then we learn the truth. This was okay - very sexy, but I’m not 100% sure why the .

The Changling- Starts right off in a sex scene for the first page, then you realize its some remembering a scene from a book that she read... Ian & Raye are married couple with a struggling coffee house that has marriage problems... A single wish by Raye brings a change but not one she wanted... Will she be able correct things?
Breaking the rules- Outer space adventure with security team on a mission ... Dangerous one ... This one seemed like a snippet of a bigger story (or even the begin one, hmm...)
Abduction- Two friends, Mike & Jax, on their way home from a party which should only take 20 min. But instead by the time they got 7 hours went missing & they are both clueless on what happen... Was it really alien or ...
Cute ending :)
Dark-Pilot's Bride- Outer space setting vampires called dark pilots... Interesting start could have more written...
Windsday Club-
6 warriors out in town looking for fun @ Windsday Club... But the captain just bit more than he bargained for.
Just a bit too weird for me...
Manacles of Love-
They both have been on the force together... One is now supposedly corrupt or is he just undercover?
Ok ...
Overall some of the stories in the book were better than others...star rating for the book 3.5 stars.
In this mixed bag of confections, the pornographic content is bold and unashamed. But, as in all the best erotica, emotional content doesn't go lacking. There are also surprises in store... In "The Changeling" one woman discovers that fantasies aren't all they're cracked up to be. And "The Windsday Club" proves that women can be as demanding and lusty as men. "Manacles of Love" is a title that gives away the plot but shows that the fight for dominance in a relationship needn't be fraught with bitterness or hostility.
The writing isn't always sophisticated or subtle--not surprising given the brevity of the stories. But this is erotica, ladies, not Shakespeare. What matters is whether the stories give you that moist, tickly feeling deep down inside and I'm sure you'll find something that delivers the proper payoff.
I would like to give this anthology a higher rating, really I would. I'm a huge Ellora's Cave fan.
I'm not going to list the stories individually. Pretty much all of them were meh. They all seemed to start out interesting and then fizzled. Some were downright silly.
None of the stories could be considered "A" stories they almost seemed like they were deleted scenes from full length books.
Am I sorry I read it? No, they were mildly entertaining. Would I read them again? No. Since this anthology is currently free on EC website I would recommend it only if these are favorite or go to authors for you.
Only 326 pages... and yet all the stories (but one) sound soooo good!!!!!! I hope hope hope hope they don't dissatisfy me! I can't wait to eat this book up!! YUM!
