From the reviews, I think I enjoyed this more than most readers. I thought it was pretty cool, and I liked the art. Apollo decides to leave the Pantheon of Gods to live as a normal human, but the Gods don't like that, and his human life has problems of it's own.

There were a lot of shortcomings, to be sure, but I thought it was still charming enough to be worth finishing. In particular I thought the world building was fun and I liked that Apollo goes to work at a Greek restaurant. On the flipside, I thought the character development was a bit flat and the instalove a bit annoying. All in all, a fun read, albeit not great or terribly deep.

Better in theory than in practice; Apollo gives up his godhood not to simply "live amongst mortals" as is the usual M.O. of these things, but because there is an insidious something afoot and other gods and godlings lined up against him, conspiring. Placed in a world of superheroes, people sort of buy into his existence as a local hero. Nothing very new here, though; mortal friends who inspire but are constantly in danger, a mysterious man/god from the East, a throwaway African character that really disappointed me, and a subway battle with a monster. So - fun, but not original, and in the execution, somewhat stitched-together & jangly feeling. Perhaps subsequent chapters of this would clear up, resolve, or justify, but I'm not at all sure that I'd seek them out.
