When the body of a vulnerable teenage girl is found on a remote farm in the Maryland hills, knows her past has come back to haunt her. Lucy’s sister died when she was a young girl, and the dead teenager looks exactly like her—her dark hair dyed blonde, her wrists slashed.
Lucy’s name is scrawled on the bathroom mirror above the girl’s body, and the dead girl is clutching a silver coin in her small, fragile hand, identical to the one which has just been mailed to Lucy. Lucy is shaken to her very core, determined to find out why a cruel murderer wants her to feel responsible for this girl’s death.
Lucy vows to track down this twisted killer who seems to know so much about her family’s tragic past. But when her closest friend Kelly is abducted and Lucy receives a phone call saying she has forty-eight hours to find her, she knows the evil perpetrator won’t stop until she comes face to face with him. As the clock ticks and Lucy frantically tries to track him down, she is sent messages showing her friend growing weaker and weaker. Lucy cannot let another innocent life be taken. But can she find Kelly in time? And what will her abductor want in return?

Holy Crap! Gripping, tense, suspenseful and had me on the edge of my seat! This is how you do it!
Woohoo!!!!! What a ride this was! The gang is all back and man-oh-man, what a great series.
In The Lonely Girls, Lucy has relocated and is working her new job at the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. It is such a great job for someone who has devoted herself to making sure those who hurt children pay (and she dolls out their punishment.) Those that have read the series knows that like Ringo Starr (and later Joe Cocker), she gets by with a little help from her friends.
She finds out that one of her former clients has been murdered and her computer whiz helper, Kelly has been taken. Lucy is given told that she must located Kelly in 48 hours or Kelly dies.
Tension Overload!!!! I'm telling you!
As Lucy gets to work, I was anxious yet loving the suspense. Whew!
If you have not read this series, do not start here. You need to go back to the beginning to fully grasp and feel everything in this book.
I highly recommend this series. I also highly recommend her Nikki Hunt series as well. I love Stacy Green's books and can't wait to get my hands (and eyes) on what she writes next.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow, Stacy Green! Brilliant finale to the Lucy Kendall series! I very much enjoyed the first 3 books of this set, and always looked forward to the next installment. While awaiting book 4, I often wondered how Ms. Green was going to wrap up this complex psychological saga. I was never able to come up with any ideas that weren’t either ridiculously unbelievable or based on everybody dying. I just had to trust Ms. Green to not let her fans down, and she certainly did not! Kudos to the author for a perfect ending to a terrific series.
All Fall Down is a taut, suspenseful tale about Lucy’s desperate search for her computer wiz/best friend Kelly. Lucy has relocated to Alexandria, VA to take a job with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). This is her chance to turn her life around. The story shifts to Philadelphia where Lucy is specifically “invited” by the kidnapper to try to save Kelly. Lucy has 48 hours to find her or Kelly dies. We meet old friends in this novel, but it is clearly Lucy’s story. We are in Lucy’s mind as she works through possible clues and debates the wisdom of asking for help, while at the same time engaging in a complex search within her own soul in an effort to define to herself who she really is.
The plot is outstanding with great utilization of the side characters. There is a huge twist approximately two-thirds of the way through that knocked my sox off. The entire book is pacy; the last 33% is totally unputdownable as the clock winds down on Lucy. We get answers to several questions brought up earlier in the series and various personal relationships are fully developed. Do we get a clear vision of Lucy’s future? Does Lucy even have a future? You get to find out when you read All Fall Down.
I do not want to forget to mention that Ms. Green clearly jumps into her research with both feet. The entire series is so well researched. Thanks for the big injection of believability, Ms. Green.
I must stress that All Fall Down is not a stand-alone novel. Yes, the plot in terms of the case in question (Kelly’s disappearance) is contained in this one volume, but there are so many nuances that are related to the earlier books that first time readers to the series will be lost. I strongly recommend the Lucy Kendall series, starting with All Good Deeds, to all crime/suspense/thriller fans. All 4 books will make my top ten list of 2015 novels.
I will miss Lucy. I will miss her a lot and am really jealous of the readers who have yet to start this set. Fortunately, Ms. Green has written other series, which I cannot wait to jump into. She also has a new series coming out in February 2016, which I believe will contain at least one or two characters from the Lucy books. All I can say is “I’m in, Ms. Green!! And thank you, thank you, thank you for all the sweat, blood, and tears you put into Lucy’s stories to create one of the very best psychological thriller series out there.”
I was so nervous going into this story and rightly so. We all know by now who Lucy is and what she's done. The question is which fork in the road will she take...the dark side or towards the light.
I'm not going to recap the story or share any part of it. This is a gem you need to discover all on your own without any hints about the storyline. The writing is brilliant (as usual), the characterizations well developed and the tensions in the stratosphere.
I've loved this unconventional series and have had a love/hate relationship with Lucy Kendall. My feelings about her settled with this story and I still am reeling from all the twists, surprises and disclosures. Well done...really well done. Outstanding!

EXCERPT: 'He watched me. And he knew me. He knew how to pull my strings until I did exactly what he wanted.'
ABOUT THIS BOOK: A killer rises…
Determined to start over, Lucy Kendall moves to Washington, D.C., and takes a position with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
But the past doesn’t want to let her go.
When a police officer walks into her office and tells her the unthinkable, she knows she has to go back. But it’s too late. The gauntlet has been dropped, and Lucy has no choice but to play a sadistic killer’s game.
Unable to trust anyone, Lucy scrambles to find the truth. But time runs out, and she must do the one thing she swore she’d never do: tell the truth about the people she’s killed.
Will Lucy’s ultimate sacrifice be enough?
MY THOUGHTS: Stacy Green sure knows how to pull my strings and push my buttons!
I know that when I start one of her books, I am not going to get anything else done until I am finished. Which is why I stayed up all night reading All Fall Down.
This is book 4, and the final one, in the Lucy Kendall series; undeniably the best series of psychological thrillers I have ever read.
Lucy has moved to Washington, D.C., and taken a position with the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, a position where she can utilise her unique talents.
She has decided to make a fresh start, to put her previous life behind her. But you know what they say, you always take yourself with you, no matter where you go.
So when one of her former Social Services clients is found murdered and posed to resemble Lucy's dead sister, and a message for Lucy is scrawled on the mirror, Lucy believes she is responsible for the death.
And then the unthinkable happens - Kelly is abducted and her abductor issues a challenge to Lucy. She has 48 hours to locate Kelly, or he will kill her.
Is this linked to all the bad things she has done in her past? Or is this someone new, playing out his sick and sadistic fantasies?
The writing is taut, tense and suspenseful - just what I have come to expect from Stacy Green. The plot is fast paced and unpredictable; the characters, flawed as they are, get under your skin and into your heart.
I am going to miss Lucy, Kelly, Todd, Chris and Justin - they have undoubtedly provided the best reading of my year. But I am looking forward to reading Stacy Green's other works; and I see she has a new book out early 2016, which I am going to pre-order.
Thank you Stacy Green for this wonderful journey.
WARNING: This is NOT a stand alone book.
All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own personal opinions.

Moving to Alexandria in Washington DC was a move Lucy Kendall was determined to make – her life needed to change and she knew she had it in her to start again. But it meant leaving her best friend Kelly in Philadelphia, along with the few others she was close to; as close as Lucy could get to anyone, anyway. Her position with the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children meant she was still in the business of saving children from the paedophiles and evil nature of some humans, but was it enough?
The day she was informed of the murder of someone she knew back in Philadelphia, she realized her past would never let her go. And when Lucy saw the images, the obvious direction of the crime hit her like a gut punch. Someone was out to get her; she had no choice but to hit the ground running. But this time Lucy could tell no one; the lives of her loved ones depended on her and her alone. Could she find answers; find the killer in time?
Lucy’s investigation had her moving in circles – was she one step ahead of the killer; or was the killer just playing games with her? Her heart was racing, her head was pounding – where was she heading? What was her life about to become?
All Fall Down is the 4th in the Lucy Kendall series by author Stacy Green; it is a fast paced, gripping and intense thriller wrapped in intrigue and a sense of unreality. The evil nature of the people Lucy continues to search for remains a constant. The twists and turns in Green’s writing never cease to grab me! I have no hesitation in recommending this, and the complete series to all.
With thanks to the publisher and author for my copy to read and review.
If I were to compare thriller writer Stacy Green to a chef, I would liken her to a master of culinary arts. When she assembled the ingredients for her Lucy Kendall series finale, All Fall Down, she chose only the finest, most delicious morsels that she could assemble into one savory feast. My response is that it’s “Mmm-mmm good!” As readers can see from the book’s blurb, Lucy has decided to try to make a fresh start by moving to Washington, D.C., to take a job with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a position that is right up her alley. “But the past doesn’t want to let her go.” If that isn’t a tantalizing menu come-on, I don’t know what is. A word of caution: this book is not for Lucy beginners. It is crucial to understanding all the flavors and nuances of this complex character to know her full story from the beginning (All Good Deeds).
As in the previous book, Gone To Die, Lucy constantly questions and doubts herself. She blames herself when a former Social Services client is found murdered and a message to Lucy is scrawled on a mirror. What if she hadn’t done all the bad things in her past? When her friend Kelly is taken and is in grave danger, Lucy again feels responsible. Throughout the series, Ms. Green has tried to plant seeds of doubt in our brains about Lucy. Is she really just another sociopath? I never really thought so, and this book confirms it for me. My favorite quote comes from her stepfather, Mac, “…you’re going to get yourself killed trying to fix what you see as some kind of personal error. Your penance is that you’ve convinced yourself your own life isn’t worth much because you didn’t save Lily.” A sociopath has no heart and no soul. I am quite sure that Lucy has both.
As I read the prologue, I thought I knew the identity of the killer. Was I right? As I continued to read, munching away on bitter paragraphs and tasting sweet moments of hope that the author carefully measured into the recipe, I began to have my doubts. At about the one-third mark, I was relishing the smorgasbord, but I was no longer smugly certain of my initial selection. There is so much tension as the clock ticks down. Who has taken Kelly? Where is she? What about Chris or Todd or Agent Lennox? Will Lucy go it alone, or will she call upon any of them for help? Lucy fans will be sympathetic to this woman, I think, as she faces her fears of losing loved ones and battles her inner demons as well. I know I appreciated being privy to her thoughts; her soul-searching is almost painful to witness.
Stacy Green has done her research for this book and the entire series, and it shows. The technical and investigative background that the author provides help keep the plot grounded. By the time I got to the mid-point, I didn’t want to stop. Ms. Green brings us along for every sour, salty, meaty, sweet, and tasty tidbit of this banquet. I gorged myself shamelessly, and I have no regrets! And you know what? I was right – and finding out the how and why was “finger-lickin’ good!”
Stacy Green, I don’t know how well you actually cook, and I don’t care. You are one darn fine writer. I should be sad that the Lucy Kendall series is ending, but I’m not, really. I’m happy that I got to read four fabulous books. And “never say never,” right?
After the shocking events in The Girl in the Cabin, Lucy has had enough of Philadelphia and thanks to FBI Agent Lennox she's able to put her kills behind her and head to Washington D.C. Where she starts work at the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
But Philadelphia isn't done with her and when a body is found with a message for Lucy she's drawn back in to a game of cat and mouse. With a killer she once knew and never suspected.
And when her only real friend is taken, Lucy is determined to do whatever's necessary to get her back. Even if that means finally confessing to her killer past.

3.5★s The Lonely Girls, also titled All Fall Down, is the fourth book in the Lucy Kendall series by best-selling American author, Stacy Green. Now living in Alexandria, Virginia, Lucy Kendall is a case manager with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children when she is sent a pair of 1986 Liberty silver dollars. Immediately thereafter, a Parks Police investigator reveals that a young woman has been murdered in a xx in Maryland, and her name written by the killer at the scene.
When she sees the crime scene photos, Lucy is shocked at the resemblance to her sister, who took her own life twenty years earlier. She begins racking her brains for just who could know or discover the details so exactly, an exercise in clutching at straws, given what she learns about her mother’s actions. She is immediately concerned for her friend and IT expert, Kelly Shaw.
Returning to Philadelphia, intent on investigating potential suspects, she learns that Kelly has been keeping secrets: not only has she initiated a relationship with a man, but she has also .been searching out her past abusers. Worse still, she is missing, and the message from her abductor is that Lucy has forty-eight hours to find her.
Once again, the level of Lucy’s arrogance in deciding she is the only one who can save her friend is breathtaking: her step-father does make an insightful observation: “Even now, you’ve taken the weight of saving her life onto your shoulders, and you’re letting that cancel out your better judgment. Common sense, even.”
This is a series best read in order as there are huge spoilers for the first three books in this one. There’s lots of action in this final instalment, plenty of red herrings and distractions, but the astute reader will have picked the massive twist by the final lines of the prologue. Most loose ends are neatly tied, except for who looked after Mousecop when Lucy upped and went to Philly. This unbiased review is from an uncorrected proof copy provided by NetGalley and Bookouture.
Perhaps Lucy Kendall’s life has come full circle. She had been a PI/vigilante turned murderer, but Lucy has the chance to change the course of her life. She has taken on a new job, now she is working at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. This is indeed a perfect job for Lucy, because she still gets to work for the benefit of children, but this will give her a chance to stay on the right side of the law. However, when her dear friend, Kelly has gone missing, Lucy again feels that she has to take matters into her own hands.
For years, Kelly and Lucy have worked closely together when it came to Lucy looking for men who escaped justice for harming children. She is now in a race against time as Kelly’s kidnapper has given her only 48 hours to arrive at a certain location and order to save Kelly.
In addition to finding out about Kelly, Lucy is also finding that a recent murder nearly mirrors a tragic event when she lost her sister when they were children. Although desperate to figure out the past, Lucy is also desperate to find Kelly. What an incredibly tense read as Lucy’s past and present begin to collide at amazing speed. This last book in the Lucy Kendall series was just as compelling as all three previous books. In fact, I read all four books back to back in just a couple of days as they were impossible to put down.
Stacy Green has done a remarkable job with each and every book in the series, and has made Lucy a relatable character. The conclusion of this amazing series could not have been done any better.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Attempting to turn her life around, Lucy Kendall has moved to Washington, D.C. and taken a job with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Life is good, until Lucy is informed that a former social services client was found murdered; a message for Lucy written on a mirror. Lucy believes someone from her past is out for revenge. Deciding that some of her past clients may be the next target, she heads back to Pennsylvania only to find that Kelly is missing. A phone call from the culprit tells Lucy she has 48 hours to find her or Kelly will be dead.
This is the last book in the Lucy Kendall series and, in my opinion, the best of the bunch. Lucy must track down Lucy must reexamine her past and figure out who is behind Kelly’s abduction. She has been instructed that she cannot contact the police, but with time running out she may have no choice.
This book left me on the edge of my seat. There are several twists that I didn’t see coming at all. I’m sorry to see this series end, but glad it went out with a bang. My rating: 5 Stars.
Lucy has moved to Washington starting a new career and trying for a fresh start but someone wants her back and is doing the one thing he knows will bring her to him. This is a heart pounding thrill ride all the way to the end! WOW! What an amazing way to end this fantastic series! Once again Stacy Green grabbed me right from the first page and held on tight through the entire ride as she answers her own question, Is Lucy a Sociopath? I highly recommend this book and the entire series to any thriller lover, you will NOT be disappointed!
What a fantastic ending to a great series! The whole series was action-packed and an amazing thrill ride. I didn’t think it could get any more twisted than the previous ones but this was over the top in the best way possible. The writing flows so well that you get wrapped up in the story and lose all sense of time. I highly recommend the whole series (must be read in order)!

Wow. This is probably my favorite book in this series. I've enjoyed them all but this one had just a little something more. Surprises everywhere. And that ending. Loved mostly everything about the end, but there is so much that could happen. I need to process this book.
Lucy has done almost a complete turn around in this book. There is more learned about Kelly as well as Chris! Even though my hunch was on about the "killer" I still thoroughly enjoyed this book. However I felt it left off with an unanswered question- although this may have been intentional. I feel that this book did wrap things up from the three before. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
If you want to read a book that is fast moving and filled with non-stop suspense... then this is the book for you !!! Stacy Green just keeps getting better with every book she releases. Please check this author out... she is well worth your time

I'm officially addicted to this series! I seriously can't get enough of Lucy. The latest shocking installment kept me turning the pages all night long as Lucy races to save her friend. There are tons of twists and turns that certainly kept me guessing. But in the end, Lucy prevails, for now...
Oh my goodness, what an ending to these 4 books that I binged. I didn't see it coming though I thought them odd. The plot was brilliant, charactes all brought together in a horrifying way. The race before time ran out was crazy. I was annoyed to put my kindle away when I arrived at work. I've loved this series, Lucy both annoyed me and yet I loved her. Her morals were skewed but for all the right reasons. Plenty of emotions in this tale. I highly recommed this story but strongly suggest you start from the beginning.
The final book in the series where all is finally revealed and what a page turner it was. Lucy finally got out of her old life, moving to a new city to start again. The past however was not quite ready to let her go, leading to Lucy been called back to Philadelphia as her best friend and confidante is kidnapped. A fast-paced book as time is running out for Lucy to locate Kelly, figuring out intentionally tenuous clues creates a lot tension in the book. A lot of diversion and plot twists mean that whilst you are fairly confident in who the perpetrator is (and has been), as the reader you continuously second guess the notion.
The ending was truly satisfying, all questions answered and all loose ends tied up. A fantastic series of books, highly recommend. I hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of Lucy Kendall…
Written by Stacy Green 2015, 320 pages (Twisted Minds Press) Genre: series, fiction, psychological thriller, suspense, mystery, gritty
Rating: ★★★★
Wow. Book four is another great addition to the Lucy Kendall series. Green does not lower the gritty suspense as we follow Lucy in her new position. Lucy is a complicated character as she is not the endearing heroine we have come to expect in our suspense series. Yet, she is not a dislikable as the new heroines in all of the "Girl" novels cropping up. Green has written a flawed woman with questionable morals that still makes this reader intrigued enough to read and make sure that Lucy is okay. This appears to be the last novel in the series.
***I received an eARC from the AUTHOR/PUBLISHER via NETGALLEY***
Wow! What an amazing end to this awesome series! Again, Stacy Green grabbed me from the first page and held me through this roller coaster ride all the way to the end! This time, Lucy is the target and she has to play a game with a killer in order to save herself and her very dear friend. The big question throughout; is Lucy a sociopath or does she have a conscious?
I highly recommend this book and the entire series! It is a series based on a very dark subject, but an amazing thrill ride through the whole series!
Aww, I'm going to miss this series!! (Even though this book was published 8 years ago now (!!!). I really hope Stacy Green returns again to this series one day as its up there as one of my favourites.
In the final instalment (NOO) of the Lucy Kendall series, Lucy has moved to Alexandria and is now working for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. It seemed like just the fresh start she needed, until one of her old cases winds up dead... staged just like how her elder sister committed suicide all those years ago. Clearly this was a personal message to Lucy, and she then throws herself into the investigation, playing cat and mouse with the killer who is clearly known to her, and knows her well. Apart from the main storyline the reader also learns more about Lucy's relationship with her mother, and it was revealed that which isn't really a shock, considering how despicable her mother is.
All of the favourite characters are back in this one (Todd, Lennox, Kelly, Justin) and as mentioned above even Lucy's awful mother Joan makes an appearance.
In this book Lucy is her typical no holds barred self which is something that does frustrate me about her character, and always has throughout the series. I do like that she does struggle with the facts of her past, whereby she has .
Further spoilers ahead...
C'mon Stacey Green, it's been 8 years! Please write more Lucy Kendall novels!!
Holy cow! I am going to have nightmares for days! Stacy Green takes you deep into humanity's level of depravity that will give you the shivers. Lucy Kendall has taken a new job with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCEMC). Kelly finally convinced Lucy to use her keen and intuitive skills and need to help abused children on the right side of the law. Everything is going pretty well until she is contacted by law enforcement when they find the body of a young girl. The killer left a special message for Lucy. The body has also been posed to look just like Lucy's sister's body looked when she found her dead in their bathroom floor many years ago. Lucy is shaken to her very core. Then to make matters even worse, someone has kidnapped Kelly (her best friend). She knows that the individual who has kidnapped Kelly is unhinged, unstable and bent on revenge against Lucy. She is instructed not to contact the police or he will kill Kelly.
If you are familiar with Lucy Kendall, you know she is a lone wolf ranger and thinks she can find Kelly herself without any assistance, and she plans to make the kidnapper pay for kidnapping the one person in the world that Lucy would die for.
Lucy Kendall is a wounded soul who has been trying to atone for her sister's death for years, even though she was not at fault. She is a wounded soul, but a brave soul as well. Her pain radiates off of the pages. She has seen the worse side of humanity. She knows that there are individuals who "blend into society like a rat living in a sewer."
I got sucked into this book from the beginning even though it was creepy. I could not put it down. I knew that Stacy Green had to finish up this fantastic psychological series with this book. I never dreamed she would finish it the way she finished it. The twists were earth shattering and mouth gaping. You definitely need to read these four books in order so you will understand the full story.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The Lonely Girls (A Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller Book 4) by Stacy Green Pub Date 30 Jan 2023 Bookouture General Fiction (Adult) | Mystery & Thrillers
I am reviewing a copy of The Lonely Girls through Bookouture and Netgalley:
As I looked at my names scrawled in blood-colored lipstick on the mirror above the girl’s broken body, the room spun and my legs gave away. Was this young girl dead because of me?
After the body of of a vulnerable teenage girl is found on a remote farm in the Maryland hills, Private Investigator Lucy Kendall knows her past has come back to haunt her. Lucy's sister died when she was a young girl, and the dead teenager she's looking at looks exactly like her her dark hair dyed blonde, her wrists slashed.
On the bathroom mirror above the girls body, Lucy's name is scrawled. The dead girl is clutching a silver coin in her small, fragile hand, identical to the one which has just been mailed to Lucy. Lucy is shaken to her very core, determined to find out why a cruel murderer wants her to feel responsible for this girl’s death.
Lucy makes a vow that she is going to track down this twisted killer who seems to know so much about her family’s tragic past. But after her closet friend Kelly is abducted and Lucy receives a phone call saying she has forty-eight hours to find her, she knows the evil perpetrator won’t stop until she comes face to face with him. As the minutes tick by turning to hours she is sent messages showing her friend growing weaker and weaker. Lucy cannot let another innocent life be taken. But can she find Kelly in time? And what will her abductor want in return?
The Lonely Girls is the fourth and final book in the Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller. In the previous books I believed they could be stand-alone books, but after finishing this one I have changed my mind. I believe they are not stand-alone and meant to be read one after the other. I don't think you can appreciate one without having read the others.
This book begins with Lucy having moved to Virginia after taking a position with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She is determined to start over and leave the past behind. But the past doesn’t want to let her go.
Lucy has received a few gifts that are taunts from someone who wants her to return home. A police officer walks into her office and tells her that she has been requested to return to a murder scene of a child she once protected. Lucy knows she has no choice but to return and hopefully end this once and for all.
Lucy reaches out to Kelly to let her know she will be returning. Before she returns Kelly is abducted. Each person who had been murdered was personal to Lucy, but now feeling more responsible than ever Lucy will go face off with a serial killer that is closer to her than she knew.
This is a wonderful suspenseful, psychological thriller. The writing is fantastic and will hold you in its hands until it is finished with you. You can feel the tension build to the final meeting. I like the characters in spite of their flaws. They are multi-dimensional which creates a love hate relationship with them. This series is well worth reading.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for an unbiased review.
As predicted, I really did devour the fourth book. It was a top-notch book, without a doubt. I had already mentioned in my review of the previous book that I hoped something I suspected—something that, in my opinion, seemed a bit off—would be further developed and clarified. And I was incredibly happy that this turned out to be the case.
I won’t say what it was, but I can definitely reveal that I was on the right track. And although I had a name in mind, and that turned out to be correct, it only increased my reading pleasure. It doesn’t happen very often that I’m right, so when it does, I secretly give myself a pat on the back.
Lucy once again has to pull out all the stops, and that naturally comes with danger. She’s also confronted with a traumatic experience that she’s now reliving, which fuels her determination to catch the person who’s dragging all of this back up.
The killer is playing a sick game with Lucy, and while she’s doing her utmost to unmask him, the clock is mercilessly ticking.
Will Lucy beat the deadline, and will she deal with them in her role as a vigilante—or not?
The quality of this series kept rising, and as far as I’m concerned, I wouldn’t have minded if a few more installments followed.
Unfortunately, I now have to say goodbye to Lucy. I’ll miss her. I thought she was a fantastic woman with her heart in the right place, though not always using the best techniques to solve problems. The least you can say is that her methods were definitely effective. ;)
So for me, nothing but praise for this series. 5 stars.
Not sure how it could be possible but The Lonely Girls (A Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller Book 4) by Stacy Green is even more nail biting than the previous three. Perhaps because characters that the reader had gotten to know and understand somewhat become the hunted and caught in this story. I will say that the three book ended on a hopeful note but with one chilling detail. It comes into clear understanding why I felt something was missing. The stuff of nightmares.
I will say that the description says, “The Lonely Girls will keep you up all night, unable to put it down until the final heart-pounding twist.” I found that to be exactly true. It is once again a read that leave me off balance with an unsettling ending that I have replayed time and time again in my mind. One of the most provocative series I have ever read with me still on the fence concerning what I think of Lucy. She is an antihero that this reader could never decide what her choices will continue to be in the future. I would like to see the Lucy, Kelly along with their loves twenty years from when this book ends. Read today and makeup your own mind.
Previously published as All Fall Down.
An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the fourth book in the Lucy Kendall series by author Stacy Green. It has taken me awhile to get to grips with this series but I am finally really enjoying it.
A body of a vulnerable teenage girl is found on a remote farm in the Maryland hills with her wrists slashed and Private Investigator Lucy Kendall feels that her past has come back to haunt her. Lucy’s sister died when she was a young girl, and the dead teenager is the spitting image of her.
Above the girl’s body is a bathroom mirror with Lucy’s name scrawled on and the dead girl is clutching a silver coin in her hand, identical to the one which has just been mailed to Lucy. Lucy is desperate to find the murderer and why a they wants her to feel responsible for this girl’s death. The murderer appears to know all about Lucy’s dark and tragic past and when her closest friend Kelly is abducted, Lucy receives a phone call giving her forty-eight hours to find her. Another race against time as Lucy is faced with tracking down the killer and saving her friend.
I really enjoyed this novel and for me was the best one in the series so far.
I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
